  1. C Type I think. I beleive the name is Bernice.
  2. How about this? Haynes PCM test. This is a word for word quote from the manual: "Using the tips of the fingers, tap vigorously on the side of the computer while the engine is running. If the computer is not functioning properly, the engine may stumble or stall, and display glitches on the engine data stream obtained using a SCAN tool or other diagnostic equipment."....."If there are no obvious signs of damage, have the unit checked at a dealer service department." Of course if you happen to be trying to figure why the engine won't start.......
  3. I loved Motor Manuals. Of course I've always been a sucker for books that actually tell how to repair things, not just change parts. Carbon tetra chloride was a spot remover when I was young, not to mention being used in glass fire extinguisher "grenades". Even though it was really bad s##t, you gotta admit that red lead paint worked extremely well. If there is any thing that is truly deadly that I used back then that worked incredably well it would have to be the tri chlor ethelene [sp] vapor degreaser. That crap could kill you, but greasy parts didn't stand a chance.
  4. Question 1: What are Haynes manuals good for other than door stops? (If only they were printed on softer paper that wouldn't clog the toilet!) Question 2: Do the Haynes publishers really believe that people need a manual to be told that anything more complicated than making sure that ones feet are in the car before closing the door "must be taken to an authorized dealer"?
  5. Rat rod look? No problem, just let 'er rust.
  6. I try not to critique other peoples projects, but that is really ugly.
  7. As you were so quick to tell me on another forum. You could easily achieved this power level by just tuning up the boost on the VG30.
  8. Perhaps this unit could be controlled (hypothetically) with foot pressure, thus allowing the operation of a device which would allow the vehicle to change its trajectory.
  9. I know, but that's alright. I'm used to being ignored. Just don't spread it around that I want the mirrors for a Z31. Joe
  10. Hmmmm, Three replies and only one suggestion. I'll tell you what, come here and bring your checkbook. Then you can do any thing you want to with the car. Oh wait, it is a Z31 so you probably wouldn't want it any way.
  11. Mostly I really like the way they mount to the car. The stock mirrors on a Z31 too closely resemble bricks for my taste.
  12. Has anybody seen these mirrors? They're off a Ferarri Testarossa, and I really like the way they look. Unfortunatly they cost about $500 each. There must be an after market source for some sort of reasonably priced knock offs but I haven't been able to find it. Any suggestions?
  13. No matter what you may think, he's been driving thar course for years and has no records of piling his car up.
  14. Almost any speedometer shop can build a cable to what ever length you need. It will cost more than $6.98 but is still way below $80. Just saying in case you need a specific length.
  15. Just stripped As first installed 1st install in Z31 After polishing heads and intake 2nd install in tube framed Z31
  16. Vertex Mag. No coil, no vac adv and no battery needed for ign. Not to mention a really hot, really long duration spark.
  17. How fast was that car going when it rearended the pickup?
  18. Beautiful! The workmanship is beyond comprehension. You are truly an artist
  19. Thanks for giving me something to smile about on a sunday morning. The pictures were kind of depressing, but the explanation was great. Yeah, I know just how misserable it was in "real time" but I'm glad you got the car home alright, and that there wasn't a whole lot of damage.
  20. He's probably selling it to pay lawyer fees. I sure wish I had a few thousand dollars laying around gathering dust. That thing looks like fun.
  21. When I did mine, I just ran a good set of blockheaders. It is a tight fit but there is enough room to clear the rack.
  22. Check with air museums and warbird restorers
  23. If it wasn't welded on, when the front end was raised it would fall off, and I wouldn't want the hood hitting my foot.
  24. The 350 is a good trans, if they are put together right they are really strong. The drawback is that 350s are a direct drive trans, so they need a numerically low rear end ratio to get any great gas milage. The 200/400 R4 are overdrive units. They will let the engine turn slower at speed. They're the way to go, but if you have a good 350, I'd run it.
