  1. I have '75 hood without vent, and 77 hood with vent. Decided to go with without vent. Paint removed. Primed. Found major outch!
  2. Working on body paint removal. I use Aircraft paint remover that a lot of folks recommended. Using blade to strip down paint. It was difficult to remove paint because the paint remover dry out so quick before the paint get soften, but when I put more paint remover, it get easier. Found major cancer rust at rear window frame...
  3. Congrats, Leon! Your Z looks so sharp!
  4. Just realized the direction of mustache bar for R180 and R200 are opposite. Mine is R200.
  5. I think you install mustache bar opposite way.... Check out FSM.
  6. Oh, well, I figure it out. It's about 4" in rear and 23mm in front. Finally, I completed my coilover installation with Grand Control CG kit. Mine is for 280z, but I exchange with 10" spring also, the hat is exchanged to VW hat which has wider diameter hole in the that fit to the Bilstein shock. Thanks Dave for the great write up!!!
  7. Hi Dave, Do you remember the length of the spacer for front and rear? Thanks, tamo3

  9. HKS makes one. But super expensive.
  10. Test powder coating chrome bought @ ebay. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qc0kV9WCLGU&feature=youtu.be
  11. Working on 240z front bumper fitting. I decide to use original 240z bumper mount onto my 280z. I need to cut metal to fit the mount. Paint primer for rust prevent. Need to weld thicker metal with nuts on the both side later.
  12. Can you just use factory default grand nuts? KYB and Tokico size is same.
  13. Great progress you made, Leon! It looks really nice!
  14. In order to prep paint, I decided to test mount Type1 fender from MSA. Oh, no, I'm surprise the poor quality of this fender. Left and right side are not balanced especially signal mount area... Almost straight mount with side line. In order to do so, I need drill hole onto headlight buckets.
  15. Thanks Leon. You made great progress! How's your prep for wedding goes beside engine build? I started writing up what I have done during summer. spitz17, I watched youtube video so many times before hammering on actual body. I was so scare before actually hitting body. If you don't hitting too much with strength, the metal is not much stretched, I think. Off course, I need to put a little bondo to final smoothing body. I thought I have just 2 minor dents on my car. I was planning to paint entire car, so, I started stripping paint with paint stripper... This was just beginning of horror story...
  16. Try to fix dent using HFT dent remover. This was wasting of money. It won't pop up as much as I expected. Use hammer & dolly to bump up dent fron inside of fender and door.
  17. finally, tranny is finish rebuilding and put back to the car. In order to install tranny, old Engine bolts are handy to align.
  18. I was wrong about oil seal removal. The oil seal contained metal ring, so, I can easily remove entire seal if I knew it. I realize it when I try to install new oil seal. Same thing for front oil seal.
  19. Hi, I'm working on stripping paint and fix rust area. Yesterday, I use AirCraft Paint stripper and wash and sand the hood. There are several surface rust spot. I got POR15 tryout kit and use "Prep-Ready" for those surface rust spot. Some spot bobble up and some are not. My question is is it OK to leave this as is and apply Epoxy primer? or do I need to sand down completely to remove rust black spot to the same color with other bare metal? Thanks, tamo3
  20. Hi Spitz17 Thanks for the info about chamber plate. That's good to know!! I'm planning to install TTT camber plate in front and wondering about rear. I might do the same way with you. tamo3
