  1. Wow, it looks way so high! I can't tell from your photo where is the body line. Do you have different angle photo?
  2. Not all the flare is the same shape. But after researching internet to find several photos of the side view of ZG flare mount, most people mount same way. Looks like rear flare is mounting higher than front. However, looking at middle of the body line, i can determine what is the right position of mounting fender flare. Thanks, tamo3
  3. Mine is '75 280z with 240z Type 1 front spoiler. http://forums.hybridz.org/topic/111648-10-years-after-hybernation-75-280z/?p=1073281 Classic Z thread is also helpful. http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/body-paint-s30/48611-fitting-240z-bumpers-valences-280z.html
  4. That's creative! I don't want to discourage you, but you can buy spring compressor almost same cost from HFT... You can save your time http://www.harborfreight.com/macpherson-strut-spring-compressor-set-61654.html
  5. I'm about install ZG flare. I bought my flare from www.restored.jp When I test fit the flare, it looks like it way high and I can see the top part of the original fender arche under the ZG flare from the side. front part and rear part fitment is in the perfect location, I guess. I know I should have install coilover and right wheel to find out fitment, but I haven't decide which wheel I should get. I want to paint body before install front coilover kit. I'd like to get your advice based on your ZG flare installation! Thanks, tamo3
  6. Welcome to Bay Area and Z community. I don't think you can get what you want with your asking price. $6.5k to $8k is the reasonable price. Some example... http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/cto/4109796733.html Good luck for hunting Z!
  7. I'm about to install ZG flare. I'm looking for 240hoke's ZG flare mount kit. http://forums.hybridz.org/topic/56920-zg-flare-mounting-kits/ If you have spare kit, let me know. Thanks, tamo3
  8. I'm also looking for 16x9 for rear and 16x8 for front with lower offset. What do you guys think about XXR 531? http://www.ebay.com/itm/290987180092?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649
  9. I like your craftsmanship! Nicely done!
  10. Thanks guys. I was lazy to post recent update... Try to catch up what I have done so far...
  11. I was planning to paint in white.... but tends to paint in dark metallic blue... Does it also show the obvious difference?
  12. Next thing is the molding hole. I was planning to use solder lead stick but it's to soft to handle. I end up with welding the holes. Oh, by the way, I just rent MIG one day, I did every welding in a day... until 3:00am...
  13. Joined Techshop to learn how to weld and power coat. Thanks grretc for letting me know about this school! Once become member of the Techshop and took course, I can use equipment for free! (off course, you need to pay monthly membership fee) Practice welding with the rear panel that came out from my 280z. Since it has too much dent, it's really hard to weld! I also learn that using copper panel as the heat shield make it easy to weld body panel. Run to OSH to get the small copper plate. I was planning to tow my Z to the Techshop to weld body panel, but U-Haul did not have the tow cart even though I made reservation. I decided to rent MIG to weld at home. Also weld the bumper holes. At first, cut the cart board to measure the size of the holes. and cut the plate to the size. Since I only have scissor to cut the plate, my hand get so tired....
  14. Back home and start clean up the panel I got. I try to be extra careful not to cut too much. Spot welding section is hard to trim down. Oh, I used up a lot of grinder... Remove old paint and did rust treatment and primed it. Next thing is cut the body. Also cut the bumper bracket hole to square...
  15. ZXT_bean, Sorry I didn't have time to find hub caps take photo. I will try to find them soon. After removing paint and bondo of rear fender, I decided to replace panel. Went to junk yard to hunt donor car. But I need to drop down gas tank in order to remove bumper bracket and cut inner panel.... Also, running out of battery of the saw and blade. Day 2 at junk yard. Use engine lift to bring up rear end of the body. Finally, got the rear panel!!!
  16. Wow! This is super nice photos! I prefer to have same color in engine bay and body as everyone said, but I will paint my car exterior first and paint engine bay later since I did not touch my engine bay yet. Since you already remove your engine, it better to paint at once with same color.
  17. Hi ZXT_bean, Thanks! I only have 3 hub caps that comes with the car. If you want, $30+shipping to you. PM me.
  18. Good Luck to find the bracket! 1981-1984 RWD maxima rear brake bracket. part #44155-04S10 all 81-82 Maxima’s had bolt on, and then all 83-84 Maxima’s had weld on except the Diesels. The 1981-82 Maxima’s used bracket 44155-N3202 The 1983-84 Maxima’s had the welded on brackets and the diesels used the desired 44155-04S10 bracket. http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php/topic/102189-maxima-caliper-brackets/?&p=956697&hl=%2Bmaxima+%2Bbracket&fromsearch=1&do=findComment&comment=956697

I got this hood from Craigslist during Summer, but it has 2 rectangle holes. I use fiberglass repair kit to fill the holes. Try to grind down extra fiberglass create air pollution in my garage!! What a mess! I decided to continue work on the hood at backyard....
