How hard do you guys think it would be to fab motor mounts for something like that?

supposedly mine has the built in regulator all I have to add is the tank.

Welp didnt get as much input as I would have liked but I went ahead and bought the above welder for 238.99 shipped to my door. Not bad for a 370 dollar welder. Anyone know how much the required gas bottle will cost me. Or at least to get one filled. If Tim can use a cheap welder and do all kinds of cool stuff....guess ill have to learn

Yes the 240 bumper should work because the early 260 was the same car as the 240's it was the late 260's that were different being like the 280's

Seems like this guy doesnt want to spill a price. I would hope it would compare with the jtr prices as far as a basic kit goes but if you want something custom most people are gonna make you pay dearly for it.

I have not had very good luck with krylon...I have had good luck with the 1500 degree ceramic engine paint from auto zone. It has a nice look to it and hold up well. Requires no primer. Like the above post make sure the chrome is scuffed first. Also have had good luck with the wheel paint they sell at auto zone you should give it a try first. Good luck guy

Man that sounds great I wish I had a welder Im shopping around for a cheap one so maybe ill get to do this. My convertible project needs it just for stiffness sake. Cant have a sagging car.

Well call me crazy I bought the car. Now I need to figure out how to get it here. I may have a plan but it that falls through Id like to have a back up. I was hoping to rent a storage space but if someone had an indoor storage space available not to expensivly say for a month or so that would be great. I should clarify that I need a place in ohio if I can get it up here otherwise someone to pick it up in tx and store it for a little while. Any Ideas would be great also the cost to rent a uhaul and trailer would be good. IF I can arrange borrowing a vehicle with a hitch me and a friend or two are gonna try and go get it. Thanks guys

Well I have found myself caught it a delima. I just was offered a great deal on a 240z but it is in tx and I am in ohio. Ohio by the way meaning nothing but rustbuckets for z cars Well I am trying to find a really cheap way to get it up here to ohio. I dont really want to pay the 900 dollar shipping charge actually I cant afford it period. I was wondering if any of you guys new and alternative to get a car to ohio for maybe half that price. It does not run or I would drive it here. I have a access to a trailer but really nothing to pull it with unfortunatly. Let me know if any of you guys have thoughts or ideas or know someone coming up this direction in the next month. Anyone willing to pick it up for me and store it for 5-6 weeks. I need to do something. Any help or input would be great. Thanks guys

I may be doing this also....Dan what do you mean by squeaky bushings. Are urethane bushings characteristicly squeaky? I hate squeaks...Are the rubber bushings all that bad? Is it a good idea to mix and match maybe put urethane bushings in the higher stress areas and the rubber ones everywhere else?

uh oh So a 240 pound spring in the rear will not be good enough to hold my tail off the ground. I was hoping to lower the car about 2 inches also if this helps.

OK one last question the above post about 8 inch springs being too short is that true I was hoping to do that to run a taller wider tire? I thought other guys were doing this also. I should be alright...right?
