i would not be using them after going to 80 , you have over streched them , get a new set and follow the 10mm instructions , all metric nuts

Just some pics off a stroker im building for a road rally engine engine was sonic tested and then grout filled to the top of the welsh plugs and then torque plate bored and honed to 89mm , all oil plugs have been removed and internaly cleaned , i also milled the block to make room for the crank , then it was spin washed and cleand , before paint in side and out main bearings were set at 2.3 to 2.4 th and thrust at 0.006 , block was very straght and the crank turns very well , 1 finger spins the crank with ease , rods are honda 18b 137mm long 400g with arp 2000 bolts clearance was set at 0.002 piston is a forged sps with 1 mm top ring 1.2 sec ring 3mm oil ring piston has a +6cc bump as the head is a p90 will post more pics as i build it this week and a vid as it hit the engine dyno

Newly rebuilt engine with loud tapping noise even at idle?!!?!
PMC raceengines replied to JCan's topic in Nissan L6 Forum
Realy you should have them done propley the serface needs to be very smoth or you get nasty wear on the cam and lash cap , if you look very close you will see the the pad that rubs on the cam is hollow in the middle and will have a line in it this makes it very hard to set tappets spot on , and also the lift cerve will not be constant , ,, so remember new cam have the rockers done as well. All cam shops can re serface rockers , we pay $12 per rocker to have them done and the new again . -

Good to hear , it worked out -
You should have rebuilt the head right first put seats in it and set the valve hight right , but now its cut the valve to make it work

There is no hard layer the pad is hard all the way thru , every time you fit a new cam you need to redo the rocker or the cam will wear badly , i know many dont but thats just bad work , We have them done on every engine , and yes it is hard to set tappets if there is a bad surface , -
With the standard rb unit on the slack side off the belt

Yes there not flat , i would have them re surffaced , its not dear get isky to do them or any cam shop , id say your valve clearance is not what you think as the rocker only has point contact , have them done and it will be quiet -

One of the key things with Z Greeks combo is the cam 224 @50 if you step over 230 @ 50 the carbs dont work as well , and kills torque , right where you need it with the stock carbs. I built a stock flat top 86mm bore N42 head with all stock parts just a small port job , stock valves but i payed lots of atenchion to the seats and shape of the valve . Also spent lots of time on rocker geometry making shore i had every bit of lift the stock cam had , the bottom end was stock with 2.3 th on all bearings i spent many hours geting the crank to spin with a flick of my fingers . Exhaust was 2.5 in and the pipes were just of the shelf cheep things , after tuning it made 208hp engine and was a cracker to drive , only down side it was not easy to get much timing in with the N42 with flat tops and stock cam , timing was 28 total on pump 95 fuel , .. Other race engines with stock 240 carbs we have done made 240hp but fell over so hard at 5700 , this was a class winning engine , after he left the class we fitted 44mm solex carbs and the engine went 289hp

Blue stag your right on the money ,, yes there are men out there that have pushed the twin carbs but ,, there not normal carbs when there done , stock carbs 200hp engine will pull you up ,

HELP! Cannot remove oil filter nipple!
PMC raceengines replied to BlueStag's topic in Nissan L6 Forum
First give it a hard tap with a hamer to strech the thred , one good hit should do it ,, then heat it and quench it with water then it should undo , i have 2 nuts i lock together on them to get them out but if there is no thred , you can cut a slot in it with a grinder and use a flat peace of steal to drive it -
