  1. I have an offer to help a friend who is about to start rebodying his 77Z with the Thunderranch kit. All the body panels will be available. The car has the MSA II front bumper, nice dent/rust free purple/pink fenders with the light bucket bondo'd in, a 240 style hood, cowl and rear hatch. I am not listing prices as I am only guaging interest to see if it worth my time to even take the parts to sell. I will go up to the shop today to take pictures and down load them tonight. The parts are located in San Diego and I have little or no desire to mail them anywhere. I beleive the only parts that will remain on the car ared the doors. The center consol looks good and can be had. The dash is coming out but is cracked bad. Please PM me if interested so I can guage whether is worth my time to undertake the dismantling job. I can be reached via phone or text at 619-788-8976.
  2. If you ever saw a Barrett-Jackson auction on SPEED you would understand, American Musscle with history sells for lots of $$$. These rich boys with these extensive collections pay top dollor for historically significant cars. 1 of 6 and most likely the last survivor has value, not to me and you but to a Pontiac guy....Lots of value.
  3. That is amazing...fun to read. Even if the top bidder does not pay this guy is still going to make a lot of money.
  4. Tom is a great guy and makes a great product. He is currently doing a 250GT job/built for a local customer. It should be fun seeing that come together. He is doing a Z job for me but it is not a 250GT, it is JDM still widebody kit. It will come out looking awesome. He has been waiting for me to drop off the car for him for the last few months. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help with your project. Like I said before, I stop by every once and awhile to check out the operation. The last time I went, I took my wife: BIG mistake, now she wants one of Thunderranch's Posche Speedster kits.
  5. I have been up to Thunderranch many times over the last few months, I would think that Tom will sell parts of the kit as well as the kit to you. I see some the parts sitting around up there. Drop him a phone call, he works most Saturdays as well. You could get the recked car plus another donor to complete the project.
  6. I was thinking that a nice addition to a show like this would be a swap meet area to go along with the vender area or maybe a car corral too. At every Nostalgic Car meet I went to in Japan they always had swap meet area. I would participate in it.
  7. Parking at the Queen Mary was $10 and admission was $5 so there for the price of attending has gone down by $5. For me it is $10 well spent, the show has never disappointed me.
  8. This is for a 280ZX? I have not heard of that kind of money going into a 280ZX...but I am sure you have your reasons. You might be able to find more answers to some of your question on Classiczcars.com, if you are going for stock.
  9. Get that G-nose off clean and you will be able to sell it well here on this site.
  10. Happy birthday....what better gift to yourself than a trip to Silverstone.
  11. Many years ago the same thing happened to me in San Diego, it was a case of two people wanting one lane, somehow she got lucky and I was found at fault. I called my insurance company, they fixed her car less than $1000 in damage and that was that. Years go by then this chick files a law suit the day prior to the 2 years running out. I turned it over to my insurance company to fight, the case was dropped when my company State Farm at that time showed that they were willing to fight it. It is the reason we have insurance, don't worry about it too much I am sure if your insurance company is good they will get it dropped.
  12. I got one in the garage that I am going to be selling soon. There is one problem it will be sold along with a Works body kit. I actually have two now that I think about it. One of them is at my Carbon Fiber guy's shop being copied to Carbon Fiber, after that I will be selling it(the old fiberglass one).
  13. Replaced a oil pan gasket a few months ago, it was easy. Put in an oil change lift at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot Auto Skills shop, drained all the oil, removed all the pan bolts, dropped the pan, then pulled it back towards the tranny. After it was off the car I cleaned up in the parts cleaner dried it off with a towel placed on the new gasket using a little gasket sealer to keep it from moving. We realize that many don't like to use sealer near the oil but used it rather than having to take a chance that the gasket would move during reinstalling the pan. Got the pan up and in place, replaced all the bolts and then torqured it down using 1/4 drive so not to rip the pan. We looked in all our service manuals and could not find the proper torque settings for the pan. In the months since installing the gasket the car has not leaked one bit. It leaked bad before we replaced the gasket. Bottomline nothing had to be removed not even the bottom pan. Without a lift it would have sucked.
  14. I do a lot of business here: http://www.thunderranch.com/gto.html I see the kits they are there and ready to ship. They make a real high quality kit. I think they have 4 kits ready to go. They will even do the conversion for you but that will not be cheap of course.
  15. I two sets of those G-nose headlight covers in my garage NIB. If I were to sell a set it would go for $700. Please get a picture of the the car you are buying posted as soon as you can.
  16. Get the gas sipper, like the CRX, Metro etc... I am picking up 95 Miata today for the purpose of gas savings. It suposed to get like 30MPGs which is about 13 MPGS better than I am doing right now. I got lucky one of my Z buddies is selling and he offered it to me for $1800. It has a hardtop, 17"wheels, it is the B model which means it has power windows etc... It needs paint but I don't care as long as it saves me gas, the same approach I am reading in your post. All my other cars are horrible on gas: 03 G35 Sport Coupe MT6, 05 Sentra SE/R auto, 73/71 Zs and my daily drive 94 Montero, this Miata will pay for its self in a years time.
  17. I have not seen that commercial, but I have an early Z flashing by in a Mobil 1 TV add. Has anyone else noticed that?
  18. I guess you don't mess with MB guys, those guys are serious PIs. It is amazing how much information and work went into taking this guy down. I bet the Scammer never saw the assault on him coming.
  19. The car looks great....Marshall did a great job, it is great having a friend and neighbor like that.
  20. That car was been at JCCS for the past 2 shows....it is interesting, at first he had the "Why?" effect on me, but I can see why a person would do it, I just am not sure what type of racing it is set up for.
  21. I will be stimulating the bar economy of Honolulu with my stimulus money. Wish I could spend it on my Z projects but a man needs a vacation once and awhile.
  22. Beta Motorsports look like a great option for you: http://www.betamotorsports.com/services/index.html
