  1. VHT makes wrinkle paint which can go up to 350 degrees, I painted my valve cover red with it and it turned out pretty good. You can get it at Summit. Krylon also makes a black wrinkle paint but I don't know how hot it can get.
  2. If the L28ET you are using has the turbo "dished" pistons then I would consider using a metal 1MM head gasket so as to not lower the compression. If you are considering running a high amount of boost then you could look into the 2MM gasket to lower the compression a bit but you'll also probably need ARP head studs.
  3. Different bolts of the same metric thread size can have different head sizes. You might want to measure the actual threaded area of the bolts with a caliper to be sure.
  4. I'm going to be getting a T3/T04E 57 trim w/ .63 a/r with these specs: flow: 53 lbs/min 678cfm .60 A/R HOUSING 60 TRIM WHEEL TURBINE SPECS: .63 A/R HOUSING STAGE 3 WHEEL I don't think this will be too big. I'm shooting for decent low-end drivability and about 300hp peak to the wheels. With people running holsets and much bigger turbo's I would think that a .50 A/R would be pretty small to run on a Z. Most of the Honda guys that run on 1.6L and 1.8L motors use .48 and .50 a/r turbos.
  5. f1spec.com ...I was quoted $400 shipped per pair of fiberglass non reclining ones. Search on google for reviews of them, people seem to like them ok.
  6. I don't like the new feedback system, lots of room for blackmail/abuse on the buyer side as already evidenced here. I think what annoys me most is if someone buys something from me and accuses me of high shipping costs, I only have a $1.00 handling fee for bubble wrap/tape.
  7. I'm getting a set of the formula GT3 mirrors from http://www.aprperformance.com
  8. Nice. Thats what my spare couch looks like, random Z parts, fuel parts & turbo parts all over it. I think my roommates are starting to get annoyed, haha
  9. I had my '03 for almost 5 years...I loved that car so much. Great on the track and great as a daily.
  10. It is 4 inches shorter than the 350Z
  11. Some places that sell the Walbro's sell the install kit with it that comes with the hose barb connectors that should work with the stock fuel lines. I just got one the other day with the install kit for $120 shipped from fullthrottlespeed.com, it also came with the rubber sleeve and the clamps/hardware to mount it.
  12. Thanks again for the help guys. I just went out to the garage and put the new seals in. I had to pry on the old ones pretty hard with a pry bar but they came out with no drama and the new ones went in perfect hammering on them with a 30mm socket. Deja, I have a set of the 223542 National seals...they are the same outside and inside diameter as the Nissan ones but they arent identical. The national seals don't have the flared out rubber part that would be up against the CV if you compare them to the Nissan ones above.
  13. Thanks a lot guys. I guess the old seals were in such bad shape that the rubber on them just seperated from the metal part which is why it had me so confused.
  14. The old seals were completely rotted and came off in small chunks and I threw them out as they were totally trashed. Does that silver metal ring need to be removed somehow?
  15. The diff. is from a ZX turbo, what I had understood was that the P9000 was the old part #. I'm going to have to try sending these back in exchange for the P9000. I have the National Seal versions still which are identical to the Nissan ones I received, so I'll still have those for comparison purposes.
  16. I've ordered seals from 2 places with what I believed to be the correct part #'s found via searching here on HybridZ. Neither seems to be the correct seal. They are not very similar to the seals that I pulled off of the diff that were rotting. I got the National Seal versions and also the Nissan seals. I have read through the factory service manual for the '82 ZX that the differential came out of and also the R200 manual. I have tried using a big socket to hammer these things in, but I just don't see how it would work. Attached is a few pictures of the seals next to the diff. and also one of the seals on a CV axle which shows it is the right size for that at least. Is there something I am missing? Are these the right seals? Is there a trick to putting them on?
  17. www.carfiche.com for the factory service manual. they rotate the downloads in and out pretty quickly. I got the '82 ZX FSM from there.
  18. I will be doing the same actually. I bought my turbo, fuel pump, regulator, fuel lines and fittings with my tax return. With my stimulus check I'm going to be getting one of the pre-built MegaSquirt's from DIYautotune. I'm psyched....but I'm not supposed to have mine deposited until May 16th.
  19. If you run a Greddy RS BOV the company atpturbo has a pretty cool solution, click here for the product's page.
  20. This is a link to eastwood's body solder page: http://www.eastwoodco.com/jump.jsp?itemID=519&itemType=CATEGORY&iMainCat=516&iSubCat=519 They have lead filler/solder and they have a lead-free filler/solder also.
  21. I think for now I'm going to be running maybe 14-15psi max. I'm probably going to have to run a spacer anyway and something like this would be easier than cutting into the factory manifold and welding a flange and pipe to the wastegate. Yeah, the photos at the top link to a photo-hosting site which says it hosts photos exclusively for ssautochrome.com which is one of those ebay companies that sells knock-off turbo parts. Some things they sell are ok, most are crap though. This is a piece that seems like it'd be ok just because it has no moving parts and looks pretty thick and solid.
  22. Yeah, the jackplates have a slot to put onto the pinched sheetmetal on the rocker. They are pretty solid plates and about 6" long so they should distribute the load of the car enough not to cause any warping of the rocker or floorpan. I've seen so many Z's that have dented or bent framerails from people using jackstands on them or using a jack directly on the framerail.
  23. I hate to bring this back from the dead...but does anyone happen to know where I could pick something similar to this up?
  24. Wish I needed something, haha. Does your g/f by chance go to George Mason? I live right near there.
