  1. How do I check and see if my turbo distributor is good or not? I'm stamped on a Z31 ECU swap. I got my ECU to work. (little lights are on) and self diagnosed the system and it's throwing me a Fuel pump control code, crank trigger code, and one unknown (4 red and 1 green???) so I check the connector from the ECU to the dizzy and I'm getting no 12V from any of the pins. I think there should be one 12V on the 4 pin connector right? Thanks
  2. I added alumium covered high silica blanket under my factory heatshield and I can now touch the intake.
  3. I'm getting full boost in 2nd. with 60-1 and stage III turbine. Hit 6-7 psi in first. I guess 3inch DP helps
  4. I'll take that bet. Every turbo car I know of that has compared has found the 3.54 to be faster in the 1/4. You just don't have time to build boost with a 3.90 in first gear. (or possibly even second) OK, I still believe you need alot of gear to get the car out of hole on manual turbo car. And I never had a problem with the car not spooling in 1st gear with 3.90, 11lb flywheel, and small crank pulley.
  5. I wouldn't mess with diff, 12.8 iis stout wit that set up. I bet it'll slow you down with 3.54.
  6. Spearco makes nice top to bottom IC for good price. I see them go for $200 on ebay all the time.
  7. Why not try bigger turbine wheel? Should pick you up some higher rpm power. I'm sure some cam would help too. I've notice more power pass 5000 rpm wit hmy new turbo. (stage III/ 60-1). I've not dyno this turbo yet but I'll let you know when I do.
  8. small A/R turbine housing is restricting your HP? I don't know, I went to visit an Integra Type-R with .48 A/R housing this weekend and he was making 500WHP. Street class drag car too. Stage III/60-1 combo
  9. With LY28, you have to alter the motor mount agnle and transmission bell housing to fit it under the hood.

  11. that's the IC I got. The nice thing is plumbing is short. But my Air intake can't fit through the driver side. But I do have it cramped in a 280Z not a ZX.
  12. I'm running modded. zxt wiring harness with Z31 ECU too. So I need to Z31 ignitor. At least that's what I was told.
  13. I was not happy with KYB on my 78. (I was trying to save some money also) but KYB rode rough and didn't last long so I ended up with Tokico's and never been happier.
  14. Ok, where is the black wire off the ignitor goes on Z31 ignitor. I think it's a ground but I want to be sure. Thanks
  15. the way your car gets out of hole, you might have the 3.90's. Really, only way to check it is to take the diff. cover off and read the stamping on the gear.
  16. I put two jack stands on the rear control arm mounting points.
  17. that's ok, my car won't crank back due to a luck of spark.
  18. Well, I was reading Z31.com and the article said to leaved the trigger even with MSD box.
  19. my thinking was it goes between the ignitor and coil I've not done it but I'll be working on that next month or so. I got me a Z31 MAF setup
  20. top one for an e-boost controller I was told.
