  1. Yap. It happened recently. Nowthe president of Nissan is from Renault. (can't remember his name, something like Gordon)
  2. Rod bearing failure usually caused from excessive rpm.
  3. I ran E88 milled .080" inch with 274 mild cam with EFI. It actually ran good.
  4. The E31 would need EFI provision. just notches on the injectors and holes for the intake
  5. Run on-board self diagnose, I had to crank the timing all the way to 20deg before it cranked and idle good when I swapped the Z31 setup on mine. Also check for vaccum leak, MAF doesn't like vacuum leak

    Is my MAF dead?

Sounds like it's got MAF signal problem. Why don't you run the self diagnose off ECU? Then you can be sure. I think #21 is MAF code on Mode III
  7. I got HKS HG and ARP studs. I plan to melt something before I blow a head gasket. I milled the head and spray copper spray both side with HKS, no leak yet
  8. 82-83 dizzy if easier to use IMO. also the parts are not so high. Always a plus
  9. I ran N/A ECU with BTM before I went to Z31 setup. It actually ran pretty good. Not as good as Z31set going into the boost but as good or better than turbo zx setup. BTM does give littlebit more tunability than turbo CAS setup.
  10. I have the same problem with my Z31 ECU powered L28. I'll check that. Great info.
  11. From my experience, It's easier to have the turbo clocked like stock configuration. When I tried to face it downward, I had a problem with plumbing getting around te cross member. Also, you might need a cast 90deg elbow to make t04E housing fit right without the J-pipe hitting the struct tower.
  12. I got a 82 turbo ECU if your brother's doesn't work
  13. Thanks. I guess you got the file. you are welcome to pass it around. it's nothing special but I guess it'll give a good idea of what the turbo Z sounds like. The BOV is Greddy Type S btw. the video is 1.16MB unconpressed
  14. I think it's sent... first time on dial up.
  15. Working on it. hold on, I'm on a dialup now. It's going to be a video.
  16. Mine sounds just like the 18 wheeler Sometime I get confused on the interstate when I'm next to the 18 wheeler.
  17. torque should be higher than HP from my experience. It makes since since the turbo multiplies the torque
  18. Sequential is suppose to not leak under partial throttle. You can tighten the BOV to keep the BOV from opening too much/too early. I don't think EIDS will work on stock AFM setup. I'm getting one for my car but I do have MAF setup instead.
  19. Well, most eveything on the N/A Z31 can be use on the turbo conversion. All you need is to swap the ECU with turbo unit. I wanted the N/A ECU to get the JWT upgrade done on it.
  20. FYI, Z31 ECU fits just right on 280Z's original ECU spot. I thought it was neat
  21. dizzy will click once per revolution to give the ECU 1 rev. signal. I guess it's hard to explain. I'm an alien Just take the dizzy out with it still plugged up to the ECU, with key on, turn the dizzy. you hear what I'm talking about
  22. There is a guy in AL who's got one of those. I'll see if he'll come out and play.
  23. mine were 145psi aross. 7.8:1 static compression. as long as it's more than 100-110psi, you should be good. IMO
  24. ECU advances the timing, you can take the dizzy out (still plugged to the ECU) turn the shaft with the ignition on and see if you are getting signal or not. It'll click once for rev. (twice on Z31 CAS) other then that I would suspect the ECU not working properly
