  1. What was the 50" Plasma deal? I ended up buying a 32" Samsung LCD from Sears. It's a lot nice than the one from WM, but also costed a little bit more. It has a lot higher contrast ratio, better response time, and a better warranty. I'm satisfied. I went after work, and didn't have to fight any shoppers, and they even brought it out to my car for me. Oh, yeah.. I'm using it as a monitor.. I'm getting a tan.
  2. OMG, I went to buy an LCD TV from Walmart to use as my new computer monitor. I got there at 5:00AM when the "sale opened". And the whole parking lot was full, and people were parking in the adjacent restaurant parking lots. Wow. I walked in and asked a couple kids I saw walking out with 2 32" LCD's and they said that all the TV's were gone already.. wtf.. 5:02AM. Then one kid shouts, "Hey, you can buy this from me for 100$, and then you can take it and pay for it." I said, "Ha, that's more than the regular price, I could just buy a bigger one.." So I left.. WTF.. Anyway. I guess I'm going TV shopping after work today.
  3. Very nice! Good luck shooting, try to stay warm.
  4. My aunt has 10 acres in the country, which is only a few miles from my house. Her closest neighbor is about 300 yards down the road on the opposite side of the road. I can go there on a whims notice, and really not bother anyone. And plus, cool factor... I've always wanted one, now I want two.
  5. Yeah, I think I will go with the suppressor. Tony D, I think it say's a lot about where our country has gone when I see the responses here. California banned pretty much everything, but makes exceptions for movie makers. Of course I haven't seen a lot of street thug bank robbers running around swinging 40lb .50 cal rifles, so it must be working. Yes, Madison is a pretty screwed up place. They banned the transfer of pistols, but Wis state law says that no political subdivision may enact such a law. I also got a PM from a guy wondering if Silencers are illegal...? It doesn't surprise me, as a cousin of mine whom I told I was purchasing a suppressor told me, "Don't do it, they're illegal". Yet, I showed him the government forums, and told him about the sporting store that sells them. 38 out of 50 states allow suppressors. Maybe the other states are't included in the "Land of the free"? rant/off. Here's the one I'm looking at. Built here locally in Wisconsin, and I would purchase it right from the MFG, so the time it takes to transfer the Form 4. Hearing Protection, LLC. Checkmate .22
  6. Dang, you guys did a great job getting that to fit.
  7. I got an 8, but started rushing through it after the first few.. Thats my excuse.
  8. The other thread related to the pistols got me wanting to let go of some of my money again. Pffft.. Thanks. Essentially, I'm worried about how this election will change how free citizens are allowed to purchase or own firearms. Really, the only shooting I do is target shooting. Back when I didn't work every weekend my friends and I would go to the range on Saturday, that was a lot of fun. I've been wanting to get a .22 suppressor for my .22 pistol, because I'm currently using my 9MM suppressor on the .22 until I got a suppressor. The problem is that .22's are very dirty, and the 9mm can, cannot break down for cleaning. The .22 suppressor I'm looking at is made in Wisconsin, and is a pretty good price. My other option would be to buy a new pistol. Seeing the prices on those Sig 225 and 226's that I posted about in the other thread really got me thinking. LOL. Although the price of 9mm ammo is quite a bit higher than .22lr. I've even loaded 9mm, which is about the same price as buying a bulk pack, if you buy brass. So basically, if I buy the suppressor, I am paying a 200$ "tax" to the government, plus the cost of the suppressor, and then more tax on the cost of the suppressor. So, yeah, a lot goes to taxes. The price of the cheap .22 ammo offsets this I think. Also, I'm afraid that suppressors will be one of the next scary things that get banned. Well, the more I write about it, the more I'm leaning towards purchasing the suppressor. Hopefully, I can purchase a pistol later if I want to. Pic's of the stable.
  9. From my limited experiences actually driving my Z's.. I can assume that without power steering, Gymkhana would be very difficult in a Z.. I do plan on auto X'ing my race Z if I ever get around to finishing it.
  10. Wow... That's awesome. I really miss my STI now.. lol, here is my contribution. My old STI. My M3.
  11. I just threw away a magazine that had refurbished police use (hahaha or not use, holster wear) 226's for like under $299. If I find it I'll try to post a link. Okay, they're $269 from AimSurplus. I don't see anything about them on their website, but they had an ad in their mail pamphlet. I may inquire to my local FFL about having one shipped there.. Pretty good price.
  12. I'm glad you found what works for you. I really liked the ergonomics of the Sig's and I almost bought a 226. Ended up getting a suppressor though. And then later on I got the Sig Mosquito, which isn't reliable, but it is very cool, and has the same ergo's as the big brother. Someone asked about the 1911 being SA or DA. I believe all 1911's are single action, by design. My Springfield Armory 1911 has a very nice trigger. It spoils me when I go to shoot other pistols.
  13. Sig Mosquito suppressed. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H4BE0x4gFRE
  14. For some reason I thought when I started to read your analogy it was going to say; "Guns are like women, you've got to try a few out before you decide to pick just one." Which also works.
  15. The floor pans and sub frame under the floors seem to be the first thing to rot out.. make sure those are solid, and you're golden.
  16. If you're looking for a budget shooter I'd suggest something in 9MM. It's easy to shoot, pretty accurate, and cheap. In fact, I found that if you reload your own, and have to buy brass, that it's more expensive. Who knows the future of firearms related products with the election coming up though. Prices could skyrocket more than they have. I have a 9MM AR15 for this purpose, cheaper than .223, really accurate follow up shots, and easier to suppress. Sorry to digress, but maybe we should start a Firearms thread.
  17. I'm very happy with my Springfield Armory 1911. It is the "fully loaded" model. If I got another .45 it would be a Springfield Armory 1911 OPERATOR, the older model with the full rail. I had a chance a while ago to buy a used one under 1000$, and I missed out. dang. You can't go wrong with a Glock or XD if you're looking for a self defense firearm. I haven't had any experience with Sig's other than my .22. I do like the ergonomics of the Sig. I prefer them over a Glock. ETA. I believe the new XD's are coming with external safeties also now..
  18. Currently my 240z has ground control coil overs. They are mounted to the stock isolators. The shocks are koni 5 way adjustable, and have a bit of slack inside the isolator. The stock spring perch and stock bearing are not installed in the isolator. The top of the strut rod where it bolts to the isolator and the nut noticeably move when the car goes over bumps. I checked to make sure that the nut wasn't bottoming out on the threads, and the nut is tight. I assume this means that the top of the strut is moving around because of the slack in the isolator. What is the correct way to mount the coil overs into a car without camber plates?
