  1. Also, when I built mine with stainless steel I didn't have access to a tubing bender. So I created the bends using segments, or segmented bends. Here is a calculator for doing segmented bends. http://www.porcupinepress.com/_bending/segmentbends.htm
  2. Well, when I was approved the rate for a 30 year fixed mortgage was 5.875%. During the 5 months I was looking, I noticed the rates went up to 6.4%. Then when I found out I got an accepted offer, the rate was back down to 5.875%. Then two days later its at 6.2%, and now its at 6.4%. Geez. I'm going to wait it out and see if it will go back down, I have until the 30th to close.
  3. I disagree with all those people who say that these cars were not built to reproduce the advertised performance numbers. It's like building a space shuttle, that they recommend you can't leave the atmosphere with.
  4. Lost another 63,000 today. I didn't think it could get any worse.
  5. Yep, still in Oshkosh. Looks like this, except I've cut off the frame rail.
  6. I'm down a lot.. Lost everything I gained, and then like 70,000$.
  7. LOL, I thought this topic was about smoking. Which is bad. BTW.
  8. Yes, I totally agree that people have been over spending. I love watching the HGTV channels and seeing a couple move into a house that was a cool million over their "BUDGET"! This house is certainly never going to make it onto one of those channels, but I can afford it easily, and it will be under 25% of my income, which is a good rule to follow. I will always make more money, and hopefully I will be fortunate enough to never have to worry about losing my job.
  9. Wow, that sucks about the foreclosures. It's not too out of control here. In fact, the first one I had an offer on was a foreclosure. And then the third one was a "short sale", of course I didn't get any of those. One thing I really noticed is, the home I bought, compared to foreclosure homes, you can really tell the difference in quality work that the owners put into them. Unlike a few foreclosure homes I've viewed that were totally trashed.
  10. A friend of mine just sold a turbo II RX7. It was in good shape, needed some body work, and the engine was blown. He sold it for 475$. If I had all the money in the world, I would have swapped a 3 rotor twin turbo motor into it. Check out this website for motors. Pretty good deals I think. http://www.nagasakijdmmotors.com/catalog/20b-3-rottary-p-156.html
  11. After looking daily for 5 months, I've kind of become a real estate "expert" in my own mind. I knew this house was a really good deal, so I offered 100$ over asking price. They accepted the offer 6 hours later, and we will close later this month. It's moving very quick. The last house I had an offer on, I offered 100$ more than asking price, but somebody came in with a cash offer an no contingencies. The one before that I offered what I felt the home was worth, which was about 10,000$ less than asking price. The owners didn't accept the offer of course. And the one before that I offered 1,000$ less than asking price, as I had the only offer at the time, but somebody came in with an offer at 8,000$ more than I had, because they were not aware that the price had dropped. So I'm glad I can finally relax, and start looking into making it my own. I want to add some nice accent lights out front, and I'd like to make the area around the front brick a little less plain. We'll see. Now I won't be able to sleep for a month.
  12. I just bought my FIRST HOUSE!.. The best part, huge 3 car garage!!! It also has a very large yard, so I can get my exercise cutting the lawn! Too bad its winter soon!!! Well, I've been looking for over 5 months, and this is the 4th offer I've had on a house. I was able to snag it up 3 days after it went on the market! I'm really excited! I just can't hide it. And I'm so glad to know that the wait is over!

    Oh noes, ITS A BOX.
  15. Im about to cut my front rails off, and then I was also thinking about cutting out the fender area, and then boxing in the strut mount area, and then connecting all the goodness with tubing. I am going to leave large formed top rail though.
  16. Wow, really nice. I've been working on mine.. (not working hahaha) for 2 winters. I really want to complete it this winter.
  17. Lol, the rear bumper indentation is already cut out, it's just held in by whatever piece in the inside of the car.. Just haven't got around to cutting it out yet. I'm going to be making flares for the car, and then making a mold to replace most of the rear 1/4. Because it's pretty dinged up anyway. Then I'll cut out most of it, and fasten the carbon piece to the body. 1/4's like the Spirit Garage S30.
  18. I've always been a very cautious spender, researching as much as I can, about both the product, and where the best price is. I also change my mind a lot, and I want to make sure that what I purchase will go with my plans. That said, I haven't really bought a whole lot for my track car yet. A lot of it has been waiting for fabrication. But after I get the frame rails, and roll cage in, it will be a lot on wheels/tires/suspension/brakes/gauges..etc.etc.etc.
  19. Panasport G7, I think they're pretty high priced. Good luck finding some.
  20. Yes, very time and money consuming. You have to figure, to make a carbon part, you essentially have to make 3 perfect parts. 1. The plug 2. The mold 3. The actual part. This is an extremely long process, as anything in the first two steps will have an adverse effect on the outcome of the product.
  21. Wow, a lot smarter than a guy around here who dressed up like a tree branch. Well, except for every ones description of him. "Wtf, he was a tree branch."
