  1. I believe it would be Ok to sell certain small tyhings without a picture. It could even be too much to post apicture of somerthings, because the thing is a common item that everybody knows about. I can't think of an example right now. Most things that have a valur associated with looks should have a pphoto, tho.
  2. It's not easy to make a square hole in the air! Makes you wonder what the originators of european truck racing were thinking.
  3. Are you referring to "plastic"?
  4. Are you able to lock the doors? If so, how? thx.
  5. Is there a method, or product you can use to decarbonize the engine? I've been using the fuel treatment, but I think the engine could use a thorough decarbonizing. thx.
  6. That sounds like stuff we did in the Boy Scouts: you got clues on a pre-recorded tape and had to go find a "bomb." Patrol collecting the most wins. What I'm thinking about involves groups getting a list if crazy items to find all over town (not in stores), then you chase around collecting them.
  7. Would the OEM rubber shifter boot fit over the stock auto floor shifter? With the center console out, it looks unsightly and I need to cover it with a homamade boot held down by a roundish aluminum plate.
  8. Dude- I'm talking about an organized event with lotsa people looking for the craziest things. Yeah, I know- that's you you mean too.
  9. I've seen it on TV shows, and I've heard of it being done locally, but did any ofyou guys ever participate in a scavenger hunt? I mean the kind where you go all over town looking for stuff? thx.
  10. I agree with baddriver about what makes the noise- things sticking out disturbing the wind, like the side windows not being (flush) with the door frame, etc. I bet that the wind going through the front grill, radiator, then down through the engine bay makes noise. Don't forget about the drive shafts (3 of those). BUT, I suggest you keep in mind that you don't want to make the car so quiet that you can't hear traffic beside you. I'm talking about somebody tooting the horn AT you or FOR you, or an emergency vehicle's siren approaching, maybe even a cop directing traffic. For the same reason I don't care for loud radios- you can't hear what's outside. my 2 sense.
  11. I see you have gone one step better than just the plain strut bar. I assumed Bastaad was referring to the strut bar like I described. If a simple strut bar is so bad, why is everybody using them? Like all the aftermarket sport companies. I don't know what Bastadd's final goal is, but it sounds like that 'triangulated' system suggested might be overkill. Sounds like something better used in competition. The homemade strut bar suggested is the same thing that MSA and others sell, just not as fancy.
  12. He's lucky he doesn't live in a country that isn't as capitalistic as the U.S. or as materialistc. Even in the DIY hobby stuff, everybody hastheir hand out if you need things, or they would rather have you "trash that old klunker." I think you know what I mean..
  13. YOu can make your own stress bar from 3/4"O.D. ubing. You only need to flatten the ends in a press, or maybe with a hammer, then drill holes for the bolts. Double-check things before drilling, as you might need to offset the holes for clearance reasons. The front miight need to have an arch or something to go over the engine. Check things first.
  14. I learned this from the JTR manual. It claims the 510 and 610 guys tried the aluminum Z drums and found that they weren't as good as the cast iron. The steel drums are less flexible to makes the brakes work better. It will even out the braking between front & rear, so the fronts are less prone to locking up first. cast iron will take more heat too.
  15. If you want to improve the braking of your drums- switch to the steel 610 drums.
  16. NOT a bobble-head Z--- that would really suck. On second thought- a Z on a spring would be kinda 70-ish....
  17. Mustang has a horse, Ferrari too. Rols royce has the flying lady. what should Z car have? I got a bobble-head tiger on the dash right now...
  18. I lost my bookmark to this site, but here the first paragraph on the renovating page: So you got an early Z...... Renovating a Z By now you must be overwhelmed to learn you have so many resources at your disposal. But probably, your are like I was; sitting there at the computer with a new Zcar in your driveway that you want to spruce up and don't know where to start. Here is a quick over view of the systems followed by some standard items to check: I'd like to finish reading the whole site. Just can't find it again. trhx.
  19. This is how it looks: working on a shifter boot and I cut the console right behind the switches because I'm planning on putting the fire extinguisher between the seats (for looks- not that I will need one!) I will close off the rough edge of the front part somehow (probably with fiberglass).
  20. Uh Oh........ He used the "A"- word.... j/k Happy holi-'daze.'
  21. If swirling is so good, how come Detroit doesn't do it on all the cars? All those aftermarket intakes all have the runners with nice smooth curves and such. Even Corvette/Mustang intakes are nice and curvy, but smooth. Swirling is not to be confused with disturbed air cause by sharp corners.
  22. It looks like you'vew been watching that Tornado air swirler infomercial on TV.....
  23. All the CF resins I know of don't like heat. They must be using some special resins & stuff.
  24. I'm not sure a CF intake is a good thing. They don't react well to heat. Otherwise, DON'T TELL THE RICERS! They'll start making CF everything! yeesh. happy holi-daze.
