You think it's a Z-gate then? there was no mention of it being a Z-gate, or it being sequential. Also, Z-gate shifters need a lever or trigger or something so you can get it back into low gear, or out of P, R, or N.

What shape is the gate, H, or Z or what?

Do you need to move the trans support for that swap? Also, is that driveshaft a bolt-on thing to the R-180?

What's the diff? lol There's not much difference between 3.36 and 3.54, so I think I will just not bother with what's in there. Unless there is something significantly different. I think the overdrive trans will make more of a difference than .18 in the diff, unless you do both.

I got the R180 right (3.5445) now, but can you get any lower without major mods or work? I wanna hook it up with a 4N71B for serious highway cruising. thx.

What is the gear ratio of the R-160? For me, I usually just cruise, so I'm looking for the lowest overall gear to bring down the RPMs. thx.

In case you haven't been watching Speed Channel, the times for the show: Mornings at 7a weekdays at 6p Friday nights at midnight.

I'm lowering the voltage of the bulbs because you get lower voltage TO the bulbs. Only about 9-10 volts from the cruddy wires. Using the 6V bulbs isn't a bad idea because you can use the dimmer control to adjust the bulbs so they're not too bright. Bypassing the dimmer totally doesn't make a difference with the 12V bulbs.

Since you're not getting 12V at the bulbs in your guages, why not just use bulbs rated for the voltage you're getting? Like replacing all those 12V bulbs in the gauges with 8V or 6V ones and just turn the dimmer down if they're too bright I'd like to try it, but does anybody have a style # for ther ones that are in there? Maybe Mouser Electronics can help. thx.

I was sarcastic with the "kamikaze satellites" remark. You don't think they'd shoot up a @100 million machine, expecting it'll be junk soon. Otherwise, I dunno about the "limitless" part. If there are so many different orbits to go to up there, how come the space shuttle has gotten hit a few times? You might think a geo-synchronous orbit is safe, huh? Well, I think that all the stuff that's flying around randomly will probably collide with a geo-synchronous object, and add to the other junk, probably at a migher, "geo-synchrous" level. The things have to be at a propergeo-synchronous orbit, in sync with all the other objects. Anything less will create a hazard.

As you know, you only get heat from under the dash, but on the new cars, you get heat from the center dash vents, too. Would it be possible to put a heater core where the a/c condenser was, and plumb it into the heater lines? Is there a way to close off the fresh air holes so you can recirculate the warm air inside? Otherwise, you wouldn't get warm air from the center vent. Also, I had the idea of hosing the cold-air vents under the ends of the dash to the side vents. Do you get any air flow out of those? Opinions? thx. Yeah, I'm spewing to day...

When I move the lever on heater control, it doesn't click into the detents, because the ball-thingy ( probably spring too) is missing. You gotta get down there and look atthe panel to see what "mode" you're in. Can you just get a replacement, or do you have to get a whole new heater control?
