  1. Where does the front bolt to below? Why not tie two diagonal bars to the main bar?
  2. Whoa, that is from the 80s... Very cool.
  3. Bad fuel supply? Ignition issue? Lots of possibilities to try and troubleshoot over the Internet...
  4. I don't know where you got your voltage regulators from, but I went through 3 of them from CarQuest back in the day, everyone of them junk. Either high, low or inconsistent. I went through the alternator, all my connections, and when it came down to it, it was always the regulator that was jacked up. Now, with the 280ZXT alternator, the output is stable, makes enough juice at idle to keep the battery charged with accessories and lights on, doesn't kill the battery when driving stop and go on a rainy day with A/C, heater, defroster, lights and wipers on... so much nicer.
  5. You should not be up at 17V, this is usually due to a defective voltage regulator. When I had this problem, I decided to switch over to the 280ZX turbo alternator which is internally regulated and has higher output. The work only takes a few minutes. Keep driving around at 17V and you will fry something. Most items are not intended to operate at extended periods over 16V. Modern automotive spec is 18V for an hour and 24V for a minute, I'm not sure what the specs were when this car was designed as I wasn't in the automotive field.
  6. Responded to your PM. I'm open to counteroffers.
  7. I've got a 77 280Z that is in pretty good shape, could run with just a battery a clean tank of fuel. Cheap!! Problem is that I am in SoCal.
  8. 1977 280Z that is almost running, just some rust in the tank. When I substitute the fuel supply, it runs like a champ.$1k in Socal.
  9. I've got one too. Mine can run and drive if you wanted to.
  10. Running super rich? Try checking the fuel pressure regulator. Mine was stock closed and the only reason it ran was because the stock pump has a bypass in it.
  11. If you are still looking, I have a 77 280Z 4MT. It has 280ZX 6 spoke wheels on it. The paint is not in perfect condition, but pretty decent. The car can run, it has lots of junk in the fuel tank and I haven't had time to drop it and clean it. If you are interested, $800 and it's yours.
  12. Ah, ok. I've got to come check out your ride when I get back.
  13. Thanks guys! Seems like we have found our cars and the producer will hash it all out. J, the next time I'm in your neck of the woods, I'm going to need to find you to check out your car. I've been following it since I got on this forum.
  14. Getoffmyinternet, show me your ride!! I hear it has rb power in it...
  15. Last call, someone with flares please!!! Need to wrap it up in the next 30 minutes.
  16. hahahah... that bad?? post pics and those of you that have clean ones, hurry and call! Matt with his LS1 powered Z is in, one more spot left. The shoot is on Thursday night 5pm to 1am in the vicinity of Downtown LA. It doesn't have to be a super modded dream machine guys. I just need a clean proper examples. Matching wheels, flares are a plus, lowered, get your ride featured!
  17. Sup guys, I have a great opportunity for those of you that are in the LA area. I need to find 2 nice Z cars (must be s30) in the LA area for a music video this Thursday. The cars are not planned on being driven, you are welcome to stay for the shoot. Payment is $250 per car. I need to find these cars quickly, if you have something nice, please let me know immediately. Call me at 310-990-0402 right away!
  18. Disconnect the starter solenoid wire and crank it. This should energize the entire system and get the pump to turn on. If it doesn't, work backwards. Check the pump electrical connections for power, if nothing, go backwards. Check the 4 fusible links and the 2 connections at the battery for the EFI system.
  19. For those on the west coast and in SoCal, I roll fenders regularly and can perform the service for you. Since these cars are old, there is no way to guarantee if the paint will crack from the stress. I'm not into the idea of loaning the tool out for you to take home since mine is modded and has gone through a number of improvements.
  20. Pull your fuel filter and check the actual fuel quality. I bought a Z that had some rust in the tank and I can get fuel flow, but not enough pressure. Lots of debris in the fuel. If you are getting debris in the front, that means that you are sucking it up at the pump and pickup blocking flow, this lowering pressure.
  21. Let me tell you about the hood that I got from those guys. The build quality is not worth $600. There was a groupbuy or something like that before for $350, it was maybe worth that. The hood is not well made, the finish is not good, the fit is not good, it's a poorly made product. I would imagine that the quality will improve when they go make them in China. Let me share a picture of my hood with you. The car sits in the garage, it doesn't get driven except out to the driveway to get washed and put back inside. The underside is separating from the carbon skin. The hood already looked bad at the edges (uneven and poor finish with spray paint) when I picked it up. With time, it just gets better. I wish I kept my stock metal hood, at least it fit well and I wouldn't have been worried about it shreading into pieces and flying off the car.
  22. Other cars are being posted to illustrate fitment. The thread title is "Wheel Show!Post your pics of you wheels" (yes, there is a spelling mistake). To that NA Miata guy, you have offset, but not enough width and tire for me. The NC is a little different than the NA in terms of what can fit. The NC is a lot fatter than the NA so it "needs" 245mm to hold it down. I'm not knocking your ride by any means, our family has 2 NAs right now.
