How is the early one different than the later ones? I have a 72 that I could pull the harness out of, or you can come and take it yourself for dirt cheap.
-
I have one with electric fan attached. Where are you located?
-
Are you looking for car to register for the street or a shell for the track?
-
I have a pair of complete doors from a 72 240. PM me.
-
I have one in SoCal if you are interested, I think there is some rust though.

Wtb 1974 260z glass, window regulators and components
S30 SPL replied to mg5664970's topic in Parts Wanted
I don't know if it fits or not, but I have a 72 240z that is complete. Do the regulators fit? I don't think shipping glass from SoCal is a good idea to Florida. -
I think I might have this. I am in SoCal. This is the one in the engine bay right?
-
Good to know that some bend is normal. I didn't have to force anything to have it fit, but curious more than anything since I've only worked on my own car and this particular vendor. Thank you for that!! Is what I have ill fitting in your opinion? I think hydrodipping is very cool, but I am not a fan of "imitation" materials if I can help it. Black paint would work just fine if I did go the FRP route though.

No doubt those are very nice quality, but they are fiberglass. I really wanted carbon to go with the other carbon stuff I have going on. Here's a glimpse of what it looks like:
-
Yup. I brought back some race tires for a Honda Grom before in my luggage. That was an interesting experience going through customs.
-
I just got a set of those in carbon from jdmflares.com and they are ok. I wouldn't call them show quality carbon, but they are very good for the money I think. Now my problem is that I'm not sure how to install them because if I just lay them against the body, they don't seem to fit the fender line in the front very well. Is it normal to have to bow them together to align with the fender ends? Anyone have close up images of where your flares start and end? Perhaps some measurements?

LOL. I go there when I have time, the guys are cool. And RS START as well. But know that the transit cost from Tokyo is not cheap and it takes a while. RS START is like an hour and a half to get there by train and foot. StarRoad is over two hours to get there. Next trip is in July... know that these sorts of shops don't always have the parts in stock, they have to be made and there is a wait. Also, luggage of that size requires oversize charge, so there has to be money involved. I just ordered a piece for a Buell, a carbon fiber half front nose and it's a 45 day lead time. I tried to get some Ohlins from RS START last trip and their lead time is 6 months for those things! Here is from my last stop at RS START below, they had their shop GTR outside. I had to get one of their strut tower bars for my Z.

Emissions standards per location - too good to be true?
S30 SPL replied to shroom's topic in Nissan RB Forum
No idea if your comments are directed to anyone... CA DMV couldn't give a hoot if you have a swap or not. They just need a smog check pass or exempt status to issue/deny registration. I've had swapped cars that were BAR tagged and there is nothing in the process that includes notifying DMV. The CARB/BAR are involved to certify and check the operational status of the car. You're right, a state legal vehicle is not a federally legal vehicle. In this case, I don't know if the BAR tagged car went through federal compliance testing and certification. So the configuration may or may not be certified. BUT I am going to go out on a ledge and say that they were since they had cats added and were under 25 years old and legally imported into the United States. But here is where there is something to consider, all of our cars are now over 25 years old. That means that they are federally exempt regardless. So would there be a situation where our cars would be federally illegal anyway? I can see an R34 getting seized or something, but an S30 with an RB swap? -
I'm here in Japan and could be enticed to go to Star Road... But what's in it for me?

Emissions standards per location - too good to be true?
S30 SPL replied to shroom's topic in Nissan RB Forum
I know MotorRex' story, but that doesn't change that there were BAR tags issued for the cars and they are still legal if released and registered. It was legit for the R33, it wasn't until the R32 and R34 that it turned into a scam. -
Let us know how it works!! Fit, sealing, ease of install, door closing ability, and appearance please?

The r33 gtr when imported by MotorRex was certified and had BAR stickers issued. Wouldn't that make it a "legal" engine then? -
s30 blower motor upgrade w/pictures
S30 SPL replied to 280zedxt's topic in S30 Series - 240z, 260z, 280z
@cgsheen THank you! I also have a factory A/C equipped model, it's not bad on decent days if I am moving and have a window cracked just a little to get more air moving inside. But this is LA, where we have plenty of stop and go.Cabin leaks aren't too bad, the transmitted heat from the tunnel, floor, windows and roof are a problem. Time to do this upgrade!- 13 replies

@cgsheen- do you have a/c in your car? I have a/c and the additional airflow would be perfect to actually keep the cabin cool in warmer weather. The vent temps are low, just not enough air flow.- 13 replies

I have a 77 280Z with the stock booster and master. In the front, I have converted to the Mustang Cobra 2 piston calipers (modern motorsports), in the rear, I have the 08- Mustang GT single piston calipers (silver mine motorsports), all vented disc. I haven't really put the car through it's paces so I'm not sure what will exactly happen. But if I need to change certain things, I'd rather do it now instead of later.

Are you guys making changes to your porportioning valve or master cylinder when going from drum to disc?
-
When you call, ask for Jack or Andrew. Tell them Augustin sent you and they might help you out with something extra. Volk/ Rays is what everyone goes with? I have yet to see another Z with my setup of 17x10-20 all the way around on 5x114.3. Panasport, Rota, Watanabe, etc is what I see everyone with. So many copies of that original style. Try some BBS RS with custom barrels, VR wheels has plenty in stock along with some other custom setups like Work VSXX.
