  3. In the Forums section of this site, there is the Faq Section. Click on Components and then MS.efi. There is an MS MSS install thread. When you click on that, there is a Picture of an MS install with a turbo distributor. It has the wire colors and what each wire does. That maybe what your looking for.
  4. How is the Gotech setup to provide spark?. Does it have its own internal module that can produce its own spark, after receiving a signal from the Dist?. Would be best to find that out. If it is set up that way or can be set up that way?. You should be able to get a signal from the distributor wires but you may also have to install an external ignitor, to provide ignition spark. You may have to go on Gotech site and get help there, It has support. Just checked the Gotech efi site. You need to check to see how the unit is jumpered, depending on which model of gotech you have. It says it is set-up per owners preference. It can be ordered to work off a dist signal or crank sensor signal. 82-83 280ZX Turbos don't have a an external crank sensor. You have to add one yourself.
  5. Is it really overheating or does a gauge show its running hot?. If it is overheating. How fast does it overheat after it is started up?.
  6. Can you list what n/a parts your using?. Which Maf are you using?. Did you do a turbo Maf gut swap?. Are you using the n/a distributor?.
  7. You may have two problems then. The injectors may not be firing either if you hotwired the pump and tried to start it. Check all your efi relays to.

  9. Check the steering rack and mounts with the front wheels off the ground. Tires. Check the wheel bearings also if you haven't done so.
  10. You had spark, You saw that the dist cap was not pointing to cylinder ones spark plug wire. So you took off the Valve cover? HUH??. You don't have to pull the valve cover, to check for the engine to be on the compression stroke. Are you saying that the Distributor Rotor was not pointing to the number one spark plug terminal, in the dist cap?. If you had spark were you checking this?. Is your engine not running correctly or not running at all?.
  11. Think its made from cast steel. Cracks look normal depending on how much use that turbo has on it. Should be able to heat it up then weld it.
  12. You posted that your voltage at idle is a good 12.5v. That is not a good voltage to start off with, 13.0 or higher is. 240z-280z alternators do not put out a lot of charging voltage to begin with, You need to upgrade your alternator. There are quite a few options.
  13. If you only replaced the injectors I would go back over everything you took apart when you replaced them. Make sure the terminal connections are not corroded. Some things you can check: While the engine is idling place a long screw driver against each injector and hold your ear to the handle end of the screw driver. ) Listen to make sure each injector is clicking. Remove the fuel filter and try blowing through it, If it is tough to blow through it is clogged and needs to be replaced. Should be easy to blow through it. Get a fuel pressure gauge and check fuel pressure.
  14. Disconnect the battery until you have time to find the draw. If you arent able to find it, keep disconnecting the battery so you don't kill it. If all else fails you can put a quick disconnect on the battery also.
  15. Do you have an RPM Signal in Megatune?. Do you have Spark?. Do you have fuel?.
  16. Yes the link is correct. I did this in my 260Z 7 years ago and it worked just fine. Flip the ZX booster upside down, remove the spacer if it has one, Bolt it in. Adjust the rod and your in business.
  17. I would recommend a true standalone system. That way, the money you spend on your 3.1 will last with a good tune. This just looks like something to trick the ecu into thinking the engine is cold. Look up Hob Switch, I think thats close to what this is. Plus a lot cheaper. IMHO
  18. Letitsnow, Hopefully IT DOESN'T make plenty of power if you decreased timing as I suggested.
  19. Yes just go to trigger offset and check your timing to what the trigger offset reads. Adjust accordingly. Then you can make your timing table up correctly. No need to just set it at 15 across the board. If at sometime you don't trust someone with your car. You can change the timing to 20 and decrease it from there. Burn that table in megasquirt lol No worries of someone blowing the engine or getting caught speeding after you do that.
  20. Juan, all the mapsharing is in the Faq's under Components, then Megasquirt. As Letitsnow has said you have to adjust the required fuel. Make sure the timing in megatune is the same as when checking your timing with a timing light. You can do this by just having someone crank the engine for you and you check timing with the light. After doing the timing check and adjustment, I would try spraying some starting fluid in the intake to help get her running.
  21. If your going to use the 79 efi system, You have to remove the EFI harness and swap it to your 240z also. If your doing that it would be a good idea to buy two haynes manuals, one for each Z. Then you can see where your going to Splice into the wiring. I did this when I swapped the entire driveline and efi system from an 83ZX into a 74 260Z.
  22. The PWM settings for an engine usings low impedence injectors is in the Megamanual. All the maps are in the Components section of the FAQS section. You just pick map settings that similar to your engine setup and use it and start tuning. Get the engine idling good before installing your wideband. If your engine is to rich, it may mess up the wideband.
  23. How is your coil wired Juan?. You should have 12volts to the + side of the coil ( BW ) with the key on. He has Megasquirt and is having trouble with spark and no RPM signal in megatune. Don't remember if you said you have a relay board or not.
