  1. If you can't find one for that year, You can use one from a ZX and use the bigger ZX Master cylinder also. All you do is install the zx booster upside down and get a longer hose for the booster. ) I put a ZX Booster and master cylinder in my 74 260Z, when I couldn't find one. Has worked for 8 years now.
  2. You should be able to use the quick disconnect type on that sensor, they are also used on the injector connectors. Autozone, Pepboys, and so on should carry them. If they don't carry them and have a junk yard near you. GM vehicles and Volvos have them on there injectors.
  3. Ok Tony, got the Part number you posted, price checked. #11044-R1005 Headgasket if availabe is $45-50 bucks. This is what I paid for my headgasket. 79-81 L28 #P7900 is $50-55 if available 81 on up #P7911 is $50-55 if available
  4. I would hate to put words in your mouth Tony, Bigjakes post says he has an 82ZX. So I am going by that and then you posted about how much you paid for one over the counter. I will check on the prices today ok. I will check on your part number also. ok
  5. Tony D, Now don't tell us you don't have any connections with Nissan parts dealerships. $120.00 for a zx headgasket Wow. I got a nissan one a few months ago for 40 or 45 bucks, when I blew mine on my 83 n/a turbo engine. I am tech at a dealership but figured you could get the same discount.
  6. The positive battery cable goes to the starter. You may have one or two more big eyelit wire ends that go to the same starter terminal, the battery cable goes to. The negative cable goes to a ground, like a transmission to engine bolt. Make sure the small spade terminal wire ( the signal wire )is connected securely to the starter.
  7. Post some pics and info on your build too.
  8. Its on mymg.com 76-80MGB 10degrees before top dead center at 1500 rpm. Took 5 minutes to find it.
  9. If the flanges are different between the diffs, which i don't think they are. All you do is use a big prybar and pop the flanges out and tap them into the other diff. Compare the flanges between the two and see if they are different. Side question. Why are you putting a turbo diff with a 3.54 ratio, in place of an n/a diff that is most likely a 3.90 ratio?.
  10. If costs of a MS relay board is a problem, you can always make up your own. Look up MS Posts by Cygnus. He did a nice self made relay board with pics. Personally I would not wire up a car without some type of relay and fuse board.
  11. Follow Stony and take the cover off.
  12. Weld or braze a Bung into the side of the pan. You didn't mention an oil feed line, So you do have one of those set up for the turbo right?.
  13. If you havent done so I would try these things. Remove the airflow meter, its not needed. Reduce the fuel pressure to about 30psi. Get it to idle and check your wideband. You should be fine at 13.0 AFR. Remember the MS maps are only to get your engine to run, you have to adjust the maps on your computer to suit your engine. If your wide band reads rich at idle. ( 8.0- 12.0 ) Reduce the numbers in the bins of your fuel map until you get 13.0 that should have your engine running smoother. Unles you have a vacuum leak or something else going on.
  14. Are you sure the injector is spraying fuel?. You can check to hear if the injector sounds like the others by using a screw driver and placing it on the injector as the engine is running. You put your ear on the handle end of the screw driver. Did you check spark at the spark plug or at the end of the plug wire?.
  15. If your idle tuning it, you just reduce the numbers in your fuel table and check the wideband. 12:5 to 13:2 are good at adle. Seems the engines like idle around there. And yes 8:1 is way rich.
  16. I remember microsquirt being more for motorcycle engines, something about how many injectors it controls and if there high or low impedence injectors.
  17. You answered your own question in your post, Now its time to fix those ground wires. A battery hold-down is your cars friend.
  18. Yes install the wideband sensor so you know what ratio your engine is running at. Is your fuel pressure steady when the engine revs just revs to 2k?. Your fuel tables and timing tables can't be locked down, if you don't know what the engine is running at. When you use someone elses fuel and timing tables, it doesn't mean your engine will like the exact same numbers and or settings, in each cell. Its a good starting point but the wideband is your friend.
  19. Since your in Ohio I would suggest using a good rust inhibitor product on the surface rust and bare metal sanded down areas. So sand the primer off, spray the rust inhibitor, or roll it on the bare metal areas, then primer.
  20. Megasquirt has its own harness available to wire up all the engine sensor connections and injectors. Your car just needs a stock harness to work the lights, starter, alternator, wipers and so on. Look on the DIYautotune site, the megasquirt harness is on there. The EZ harness should take care of your lights, starter, and so on.
  21. There are a few things you need to check. Check the clutch master cylinder, Slave cylinder and clutch hose for leaks. If the clutch was working fine before and just all of the sudden stopped worked, I think its a hydraulic problem. Check each part for a leak. The clutch mastercylinder will leak inside the car, so check the clutch mastercylinder rod coming through the firewall for leaks. If the slave cylinder hose is wet, it is leaking so replace it.
  22. Are you using the wiring harness and ecu that came with the engine or are you doing a standalone?.
  23. Have you checked to make sure the timing in megatune is the same as what a timing light shows?. Are your injectors clicking?. Are they spraying fuel?.
  24. When I started working in a garage, in 1981 in Maryland. Guys at our shop would always braze exhaust hangers back to exhaust pipes or fill holes in exhaust with brazing rod. And yes it is a lost art. We would even use coat hangers if all the rods were gone. Newer hangers don't work as well. I still use brazing rods and a torch to do certain metal projects, Younger guys I work with will ask me what the hell is that. ) Old School Baby.
  25. I don't know what you have set-up on your megasquirt so I am just going to go from the basics. I asked about the balancer because they are known to spin which will cause your timing marks to not show up as you have stated. Is your required fuel set up properly?. You can increase or decrease it. Are all the injectors spraying fuel?. Do you have spark to all the spark plugs?. Have you tried sparying starting fluid in the intake boot then starting the engine?.
