ok phil....im sad....and pissed....but great time to go c/f hood lol but seriously doesnt look toooo bad, it didnt actually get your i/c did it? looks like a hood, bumper, and headlight bucket....i got an extra hood thats pretty straight w/ louvers just needs a sanding and paint
-
just fyi theres already a c/f entire front LIP made for 240-280 if it was me doing it i would make the inspection lids and cowl....might not be the simplest but once you get the mold itd be pretty simple AND like others have said anyone can get a hood (hell i just bought one) but it kinda looks out of place without something else....which is why i have the front lip, hood, flares, rear small bre spoiler, and tail-light panel for my 280z but the cowl and inspection lids would definately help blend it to the rest (cause there wouldnt be that paint before the windshield) and it shouldnt be a real expensive piece i wouldnt think....100-200$range but my thoughts on interior and exterior (again just my opinion) is if you have one thing you have to have others.....i already have spent almost 2k on fiber for my car....alot of people cant/would rather spend it somewhere else (but ofcourse i wanted to be different) but if you make headlight buckets you need fenders....then if you made the other pieces you could have a full c/f front end.....but what about the back? and to my knowledge c/f is for aero and weight savings....doors would be great looks wise and weight wise....i know the racing guys would be all over it and most are sponsored or have big bucks anyway and they would definately buy them but again i dont think it would look totally right but thats why i suggested what i did....if you could give us a price range on a cowl and inspection lid (ofcourse depending on x number of people) that would be great......id go ahead and get a list started.... interior pieces.... 1 2 3 cowl panel.... 1 2 3 and so on, that way you can see whos interested and then give us a more accurate price based on demand

i got a set of 15x8 wheels by US wheels off of summitracing.com CHEAP and theyre -19 offset, look amazing on my dads 280zx but need to be 16 or 17 instead of 15 (too much gap) unless on coil overs....but they fill it up great...they do rub front and back on my pretty lowered 280z though

its better to have dished pistons with the same cr than flat because of the burn surface.....quenched surface is better than flat....iirc -

i "ordered" mine back in april....and still no word from kim...ive called and emailed....and he said last time "ill be checking by the end of this week, and give you a call" (last wed) and still nothing....and i have a track day the 31st which i need them by hence why i ordered them over a month ago....soooo hopefully i hear back soon? -
im almost positive its 7-3-1 ratio and im thinking i found that on zdriver.com.....they have an engine, tranny, rear end ratio, and a bunch of other info in a sticky on there..check it out
-
7-3-1 i think is the stock turbo numbers which like daeron said should have no backbone at all....till like 3k and without a turbo wouldnt be much better up top
-
and parts are more available for that l28et vs. the rb20....since it is the red headed step kid of the rb family....seriously if youre going that route your better off with an sr20 again tons of parts for them just more headache to put it in just like the rb...think about this alloott before you just tear stuff out....we dont need another stripped z project on the for sale forum plz they deserve better than that

welll.....i got on the site last night....placed an order last nite and clicked the print and call button instead of paying...left my phone number and told him i wanted some products and to give me a call...this morning he called said he had 2 of the 3 parts in and would give me a call in the 5-7 days it took to make the other one and then would take payment then....if i pay thru paypal i have no way of losing money....and i asked him about refunding and he said itf i wasnt happy with the part he would make another or i could just come look at them when i was back out here in cali (i live in dallas) so looks like its changed and maybe hes back on his feet...he also mentioned that he had a friend that was going to bring him a real set of zg flares and he would be able to make a set in carbon in a month or 2 so ill give him a shot and let everyone know how it goes and fitment....he also said something about cutting me a small deal...if i took pics for his site after i installed the parts on my z....and frankly i went this route because i dont like to fab...i can i just dont like to and i dont like the 240 lights...i mean i have a 280 for a reason ya know? but ill keep everyone informed

hey guys ive read through the thread and all but the guys who is making this.....why not a full panel? and have you considered some of the things (i think paulo was his name) over at aeroworks? or getting molds from him maybe....i mean i really think you have enough people out there that would buy the flares, that FULL back panel that he sells, and i would love to get that front lip thats on that site too....and the lip would fit all year models....just some food for thought and money in your pocket because i for one am going to buy all of that....but like others have said no answer on the phone and ive read the other thread about that guy and it looks like he pretty much went under....but if ppl produced the stuff i would buy it especially at the pricing he has....its a good deal think about it please -jeff

yea if you look for my post....i just bought the ebay unit (the fidanza) and it works amazingly i can tell when going on the highway about 70 no need to downshift to 4th to get into the power, just leave it in 5th and press the pedal....and like he said free revs are amazing u bump it 2 or 3 times and the tach cant keep up it just flops all over...best 300 ive spent on this build so far and the great thing is that they are 240mm and only 10.5lbs and they DO work with a 240 or a 225 clutch (im running the 240fidanzafly with a 225 c/f dual friction clutch and it grabs and goooess

How to remove the shocks assembly?
sticky280zx replied to japan-air's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
i dont think cutting a spring is stupid but i do when its still in the car and has tension on it so when u cut it it pops out and hits ur hand and you get some fractures going on....i just like to take more time but do it safely i just think about my buddys 2002 mustang he changed springs on...just popping them out and they went flying thru the sheetrock walls in his garage...not cool -
the rediculously huge wing, for the rediculously amazing looking z....wow thats def nice and not duplicated....amazing car....and i love the mesh....but for some reason it looks like the lips arent as big as the 2nd set of wheels....sooo my vote...mesh wheels with the (rota/pana/watanabe) lippage

sticky280zx replied to japan-air's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
first off if u dont own a chiltons GET ONE it will make life much easier....otherwise you have to take the whole thing out and it isnt fun but like others said buy a 40$ part or i KNOW autozone (maybe others) rents them (u buy them then get refunded on return) so youre not out any money...but dont do stupid things like cutting springs or taking the BIG nuts that hold them compressed without first putting a spring compressor on them first.....we dont want you in the hospital because of taking a "shortcut" on your z -
i plan on close to the same thing....my cars white too....ill be running tokico illuminas with the lowering springs ( i just cant justify 2-3k on coilovers when i wont be tracking the car, they would be more for just stance and looks) on the toyota front calipers with the group buy rotas and flares....only problem is the wheels...if i can get them in the carbon color i will with a polished lip and go carbon hood, front vallance, flares, and the wheels otherwise....ill go gloss black with chrome lip and the flat black flares with the car just all white....like yours except the hood....great lookin z btw
-
what kind of wheels are those? and did you have to modify anything to get them to fit...price and place to fund them maybe thanks
-
according to the guy you bought the flywheel from...ffmark or whatnot you should be able to get the 225 dual friction and it will work....thats what im waiting on is the flywheel as i already have the clutch so order the 225 dual friction and let us know how they work and if your happy....cause not many ppl have written about the combo theyre using and how they like it thanks- jeff

225mm clutch & 240mm flywheel...will it work?
sticky280zx replied to sticky280zx's topic in Drivetrain
haha well he said HE TEST FIT THEM and they worked so it sounds to me like he did it figured out they wouldnt and is now getting rid of this problem on someone else.....but that aside i didnt think they would because of the thread/bolt location but i wanted to ask just to make sure and like i thought, they wont but i just read a thread where places did make a 225mm fly but i would like to know if jon could get me one...oh and the other thread i just read is.....http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=95276
