  1. Grandma's Buick, Grandpa's GS-T, 240K and still running strong - had it since brand new.. Neither of which I would want to claim ownership of savageskaterkid - I was planning on buying that prestone stuff.. I know its mixable with dexcool, because I glance at the bottles every now and then.. so its all good. Glad to hear im scaring people!! Off to a good start
  2. Ignition is giving some kinda problem where, the 12V run, will read 12V, but when you start the car, and let the key fall back to that 12V.. its not giving 12V out. I dont know, but when you hold the key towards the "start" after you start it, the car stays started and runs great!
  3. Yeah, tonight im going to try to scrape up the money, or hell max out my credit card and see if I can get the right radiator hoses, thermostat, dexcool, and a select few other things. I cant turn my belt just yet though, still need to hook up my alternator and belt tensioner.. when I get one. But! This car hasn't seen daylight since the day I bought it.. hopefully tommorow will be the day, its first day outside! I will post some vids of what it sounds like outside of the garage also, with that lightweight flywheel this thing revs ungodly fast.

  5. Well it wouldn't fire without spark... Im pretty sure it was getting enough fuel pressure considering I was running a MSD inline pump, just until MY walbro 255 gets here, along with the FPR. I have verified that a LS1 will start and run without a MAP sensor. Ive heard of a few cases where people taking the VATS system off of the cpu and them still acting exactly like they had VATS, they had to buy a VATS bypass box and thats another thing that I ordered today, along with that fuel pump and FPR. Ive been laid off and haven't been able to get this stuff yet, and was just wanting to hear the car start.
  6. Let me ask you this... Would you put $9,000 into a project, just to see it burst into flames the first time you try to start it? I had been working around fuel all day and it was open header at the time. It would be nothing but foolish to not have any type of fire depressant around. But, I have heard of a couple of people who "disable" Vats, but still need a VATS bypass box to make it run. I think im going to try this next. I have verified that it will run without a MAP sensor.
  7. Figured I would start a thread to get more responses.. I dont have an alternator, or a MAP sensor as of right now.. but the engine should still be starting. I have a MSD fuel pump that I hardwired to make sure it was getting adequate fuel pressure and that made no difference at all. Anyone have any ideas? VATS is 100% for sure off.
  8. Well I hooked up a MSD fuel pump of my buddys, and the engine still did the same thing. Hardwired it to make sure the computer wasn't an issue also.. Any more ideas anyone?
  9. Yeah, wasn't too worried about the green paint.. It sucked. If she were to touch the white though there would be an ass whooping being handed out Those are some awesome outlaw I's that I spray painted, and sold on ebay for 180 bucks with tires. Nastiest wheels Ive ever seen honestly, besides the other awesome lineup that american racing has.

  13. Hmm.. time for a fuel pump then lol.. What kind did you go with?
  14. You think the fuel pressure would shut it off that quick? I was told I could run the stock fuel pump for a little while, thats what im running.. I dont have a FPR yet so I have no way of exactly knowing how much fuel pressure I have.. fuel pump is running though. Maybe hard wire it and see if that makes a difference? I cant tell if its running while the car starts and runs for the half second, but it does turn on and shut off with the relay.
  15. Do you know if the inlet and outlet for that radiator are in the same area as mine?
  16. What combo of radiator hoses did you guys use to hook up the cooling system? I have the Jagsthatrun radiator already. Thanks guys.
  17. VATS wasnt on? Hmm.. time to start troubleshooting. I dont have an alternator on right now, and I dont have a MAP sensor on yet, do you guys think those two things would kill the engine that fast? The code im getting for what I believe is the alternator, is saying its a Terminal L code? P1637? Anyone ?
  18. Gotta get my buddy over here with his HPtuners because I believe the VATS system is still on. The way it shuts off so fast and so clean hints towards that. The level of excitement is pretty crazy, it makes all that work worth it.
  19. After a VERY long day today.. we have FIRE!!! The actions of a VERY VERY VERY happy LS1 Z owner hearing his car make noise for the very first time!!! Excuse the laughing, but wow... talk about a rush All my problems today were caused by a Starter that wasnt hitting the flywheel, all because of a "flexplate adapter" that was already on the engine - After Great Success!! Had to take the engine and tranny out and seperate them, do the usual get mad and whine, put it all back together and in, and about 12:30 tonight it fired! Sweet!!! Wont stay running though, waiting on a couple of sensors to try tommorow, currently do not have a MAP, IAT, and O2 sensors.. just wanted to see it make noise though

  21. LS1 is a whole different ball game compared to a Chebby Tree Fiddy.. You are going to need the Jagsthatrun Headers to put a 5.3 5.7 6.0 in a Z car.
