  1. For what its worth, I couldn't get my doors to close on Vintage Rubber seals. I had to shave them down a fair bit, but it worked out in the end. 260Z. YMMV
  2. 360s have come down in value quite a bit, but they're not 50k yet... at least I don't think so. At that price you'd probably be looking at a beat-up one with necessary servicing required. Cool car, I just don't think I'd have the cahones to buy the F1 transmission over a manual. If it breaks, its stupid expensive to fix. By all accounts 360s are pretty reliable cars though, as far as Ferrari goes anyway.
  3. That sounds like it would work well, but I'm trying to avoid taking the suspension apart. I'd like to just replace the broken bolt, but only if the l-bracket setup is deemed 'sufficient'. If people chime in and tell me why its horribly wrong I'll replace it. Thanks for your input.
  4. To elaborate: The previous owner attached a simple (albeit thick) L-bracket to this point Image borrowed from http://forums.hybridz.org/topic/78614-my-new-rear-lcas/
  5. Does anyone have a photo of how their sway bar is connected to the tubular AZCar a-arms? Mine was mounted to a small L-shaped bracket with a poorly fitted bolt which broke upon removal... now I have to extract the thing and re-mount, but Im wondering if it was done correctly in the first place. Thanks
  6. I find most aftermarket seats are way too bulky for a Z, they look kinda funny.
  7. I enjoy my SBF but I'm not convinced its a better swap all around and I definitely don't think its "just as easy" to get as much power out of it as an SBC... that's dream-land. Lighter weight and better placement is true, though; mine is all the way behind the front axle.
  8. I hammered the seals in a bit more and used a heat gun on them. It allowed me to slam the door shut all the way... I left it closed, hopefully they compress further. I could still probably stand to adjust the door itself.. but it seems a daunting task. For what its worth, the Vintage Rubber seals are top quality. @seattlejester where did they hook the straps? That's an interesting idea...
  9. Nice of you to offer, but its available for full download right here so you don't have to waste your time scanning: http://www.xenons30.com/reference.html
  10. Can someone comment if there's something different about the 260Z body and doors that makes them so hard to shut on seals? I just bought a set of door seals from vintagerubber, and while they're excellent fit and quality, the door just won't bloody close. Its as if the seal is WAY too thick. Putting all my weight against the door and it still won't shut enough to line up with the body panels and fender.
  11. Oh and BTW keep us updated on the tach. Mine bounces occasionally with the tachmatch installed, but it seems so sporadic. Works fine 85% of the time...then while driving it just goes bonkers.
  12. I guess the shift stops working loose is more common than I thought!! I shat my pants when it happened The swap looks awesome man. Question: what kinda oil pan are you using? Mine is dual sump and the front sump drain bolt is virtually up against the support frame and inaccessible. Im toying with the idea of changing pans but don't know what would fit...
  13. The forum has an entire section dedicated to that swap, look around..
  14. Looks great man, gonna be a chore to keep that white engine bay clean though haha mine is dark blue but I already wish it were black. I couldn't tell from the quick glimpse in the video but that shifter looks like mine. Here's a tip: use thread-lock on the shift stops… my 4th gear stop worked itself loose and forward one day, locking me into 3rd. It was an interesting drive back home! So is the pickup on your T5 speedo mechanical or electrical? I have no idea what parts I need to get, gonna need to research it… right now its just an empty hole on the top of the trans.
  15. Good job! Did you hook up the speedo yet, or have any plans on tackling that? Its the only thing in my car that doesn't work... 302 with a T5 also. I have the speedo pickup blocked off so oil doesnt gush out. Was thinking about just going with a GPS speedometer...
  16. Personal preference here but if its running great as it is, and the rest of the cars is equally nice, I'd just leave it be. Maybe mod the stock motor instead? But hell, my car has a V8 so do whatever you want
  17. I have a decently upgraded carb'd 302 (306 technically) in my Z... it pulls great, sounds great, etc. But I'd kill for a Coyote motor under the hood. Might be doable in a few more years when the engines come down in price. As it stands, nobody is getting their paws on the engine, trans and electronics without $10k... and at that level, you can build a lot better.
  18. Wow that's a nice colour.. wonder how it would look on a Z
  19. Thats a beautifull setup.. but I almost threw up at that price :) lol damn.. how much of the $2000+ was for that digital display? Speedhut will outfit my whole dash including GPS speedo for $800. Defi must be next level stuff...
  20. Can't imagine daily driving my Z. It smells and its loud, and the seats aren't exactly Bentley quality. I'm sure some folks deal with it and enjoy it, but there are better compromises for fun/comfort out there.
  21. $3500... wouldnt the engine alone be worth that much easily? If you lived closer I'd actually consider buying the whole thing just for the engine I have a non-roller 5.0 slightly bored over with edelbrock heads, comp cam, intake and other trick bits but I doubt it hustles as quickly as yours.
  22. Badass ride, I really like it.. These kinds of shoots make me want to flare and "race car" my Z... good thing I have no money
