  1. all 240sx 5 speed transmissions are the same. The sr20det 5 speeds are the same as well. I just did this conversion.
  2. i put one of these in my car https://store.034motorsport.com/fully-enclosed-fp34-fuel-pump-surge-tank-for-bosch-044-motorsport-fuel-pump.html It's not the quietest but it was the most simple solution at the time. I put a low pressure lift pump in the stock 260z location to feed the surge tank.
  3. Help! I need some diff pinion flange dimension clarification! I recently ordered a custom aluminum heavy duty driveshaft from a reputable vendor, but it doesn't fit. I have a early 260z with a r200 3.9 diff. When I installed the diff, it did not come with a pinion flange. So I installed a pinion flange (the square one) from a 280z. My current pinion flange has the same dimension as pictured in the left. My replacement driveshaft has the dimension as the one pictured in the center. So, what is the diff pictured in the center from? Thanks!
  4. I have the truck lite LED's. I like'm! Pro's: Draws way less amps.... i think it was 1.6 amps per light on low beams. brighter than stock. As bright than hid's (in my opinion) -SIMPLE wiring! no ballasts unlike HID's. Just three wires. -completely bolts in. cons: - they are kinda heavy.. if stuff like that matters to you... probably weighs about 5lbs each. -the lens stick out farther than stock. I'm pretty happy with mine. lowbeams highbeams
  5. I'm running a 280zx close ratio transmission at the moment. Not sure how long that will last, but I know I will need to upgrade eventually. In the meantime, i've been avoiding hard launches and smokey burnouts. lol.
  6. I just got the car street legal last month. Had the car for a week and had to put it away for winter. Still a work in progress but here are some video's I got of it. Sorry, none are from inside of the car... I will get that next year when the snow melts. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f6nu8j-ES_4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cX8HypgviK0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F6xe7gZPTSs Dave offered 2 different cams for this engine. One where the peak powerband is between 4400 rpms to about 7400rpms, and one that is higher... i think it was about 5000rpms to 7800rpms... I chose the 4400rpms to 7400rpms because this car will be a street machine. Dyno sheet for those that are interested. the rev limit is set at 8400rpms so it sings quite nicely.
  7. I have a rebello 3.35L stroker, but the block isn't a ld28. Uses a. F54 block with bryan crower crankshaft. Great engine! 350 flywheel horsepower on 91 octane gas.
  8. Things to do for winter: -re-do interior. Get new vinyl and headliner. -put a prettier valve cover on. -figure out a better solution for the crankcase breather system.
  9. Car is back from the bodyshop. Took it for a drive tonight since it was still fairly warm and dry. and some comparison photo's of the led headlights. Low beam high beam And a quick video of the car. First gear acceleration https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F6xe7gZPTSs
  10. can't wait either! If the weather holds up maybe I'll have a few days to enjoy before winter. Thanks! Yes. If I were to do this project over, I would do pre-fit and fabricate everything before doing any sort of final body work. Eventhough it may take longer. It was definitely stressfull putting the car back together. The scorpion lining is pretty solid. Not very rubbery. I can't comment on how well its holding up just yet, but my bodyshop swears by this stuff. He told me I won't have to worry about rust wherever this stuff is applied. Update: Car went back to the bodyshop the other day for final paint touchups (my mistakes) and final wetsand and polish. rock guard is also being applied to areas where its vulnerable. Pics to follow.
  11. I think they are all the same in my opinion. The inner tie rods I got from rare spares fit my 260z rack just fine. The 260z rack is the 280z rack I believe.
  12. I have them in my 260z. They looked different from the oem ones but the length and fitment is good.
  13. It takes only 3 or 4 clicks to engage the brakes for me. I have a '74 260z. Maybe different linkage.
  14. hmmm... good tip. Is this more prone for carburated engines? My engine is fuel injected and already tuned..... However I do carry a fire extinguisher in the car with me just in case. It's pretty dusty here where I live.....because our roads are so dirty and there's construction going on everywhere during the summer... Hard to run a engine without filters.
  15. Washed the car for the first time! Suspension somewhat dialed in.
  16. Thank you! I have driven the car for just a bit. Seems to handle quite nice, but I haven't pushed the car too hard yet. The steering isn't as heavy as I thought it might be with 245's up front. My observations aren't very accurate, it's been quite a while since I've driven a modified z. It handles a lot better than a stock 260z! that's for sure.
  17. THey are watanabe R type. 16x9 -13 in the front and 16x9.5 -19 offset in the back. 245/45/16 for tires on all 4's. I have a 3mm wheel spacer in the front and 10mm spacer in the back to clear my big brake kit.
  18. Thanks gents! I prefer the rubber bumper strips because I`m weird.
  19. R.I.P. Sad to hear. It's not long ago I purchased parts from him. I will definitely miss him.
  20. Gave her it's first bath since putting it back together.
  21. You may be lacking in master cylinder travel. Try adjusting the master cylinder rod
  22. I'm not making any recommendations here, but I was recommended by Dave from rebello racing to use high temp gasket maker on the header and fuel resistant gasket maker on my intake. He said he doesn't use gaskets because they leak. I was skeptical of his recommendation, but so far it has been holding up fine.
  23. My Nismo competition steering wheel
  24. Some small updates. Almost ready to get this car inspected and insured. Installed Weber air filter socks Finally installed one of my prized possessions. Genuine NISMO datsun steering wheel!
