  1. Well I originally want these mirrors for my 280ZX but now MSA doesnt sell them any longer I kinda like these mirrors too but I dont have any pics to look at of different mirrors on a 280ZX. Does anybody have some pics of different mirros on their Z's/ ZX's? Thanks, Guy
  2. Yeah Phantom, you should get a new LS2 and then you can give me your LS1! Kill two birds with one stone...get rid of the old engine and get a new one! Guy
  3. So Tim, you just have a small piece of rubber fuel line in between the hard line and the pump? Is there a way to connect the hard line to the pump? Guy
  4. Where did you get that MSD pump? Doesnt the 3/8" seem kinda small? What size is the fuel line on a Z28? Guy Edit: Never mind I just found the pump on summit's site...#MSD-2225 $76.95
  5. I am thinking about upgrading my fuel pump and fuel lines to accomidate the LT1's fuel needs. I dont think I'm having any fuel delivery problems but I would still like to get a new pump and some new lines. I have 3 questions... 1. How do you attach those "compression" style fitting that are used with steel braided hose, to a hard line? Another words how am I going to connect them to the hard lines on the fuel rail? I have those quick disconnect fittings on it now with rubber lines that are connected to the original stock hard lines.(Not the safest thing in the world I know, thats why Im upgrading! ) 2. What fuel pump should I go with? I can still use an inline one like the stock one right? 3. What size of line should I use? I might upgrade later with some engine parts so I think 500HP would be the max for this car. Thanks, Guy
  6. I can tell you one thing....there sure arent any women like that up here in Wisconsin! All we have are cows, beer, and cheese! Guy
  7. Well Im not sure about the TQ of the LS6 but the it is for sure 405HP. So you guys with the LS1's could just swap out the LS1 for the LS2 if the mounting is the same! Guy
  8. My step-dad took it to work to have one of his welding buddies do the finishing welds on it like 2 weeks ago but since my step-dad has been on vacation for the last 2 weeks he hasnt talked to him to see if its done yet. After I get it back I will be sending it immediatily to "Jet Hot Coatings" to be ceramic coated. Have you checked out "Ross C." site? He made an "adapter" of some sort for the 280ZX's with the power rack & pinion so that he could use block huggers. Altleast I know he made some kind of adpater thing for headers on a 280ZX. Guy
  9. Hey Jason did you see my post about my header fabrication? Guy
  10. I absolutly will not use Kazaa, every time I have tried my computer turns into a big piece of $hit! I do however, have "Bear Share" another file sharing program but I did not find it on there. Guy
  11. I was telling a guy at work today about Darius's car and I was going to show him the video of it doing a burn out at like 60mph but I cant find it and his site appears to be down? So is he still around? Also anybody want to give me a link to that video? Guy
  12. I agree with what Jason said. I have done the 350 swap in my 280ZX and I found the book useful because I have never done an engine swap. So it did teach me the funametals of an engine swap. Hey Jason how far along are you with your 280ZX LT1 swap? Guy
  13. I think, if its possible, the LT1 302 would be the easiest way to make a reliable 300HP engine. Its very easy to make 300HP with the LT1 even if its destroked. The FI will also help with the driveablilty issues that some of the other guys are talking about. I say research the LT1 302 possiblilties and go that route if possible! Guy P.S. I think that some of you guys are being a little harsh on Nic. He has clearly stated that he doesnt care if his car is that fastest or if it is the most cost effetive HP to $$$ ratio. I think we all know that more cubes = more power. Even if what some of you guys are saying is true and that this engine wont last....let him find out for himself. We are all big boys and girls here and I think we can all make our own decisions.
  14. Well my engine is basically the same as your, minus the alluminum flywheel. I am running a 93' T56 with the .62:1 6th and a 3.54 open rear end in my 80' ZX. My car was not running the best due to a wiring problem with the IAC motor but when it was running good 6th was actually useful at like 65mph. I think a 3.70 or 3.90 would be a better choise but then you lose 1st because all it will be good for is pulling houses off their foundation or pulling stumps! LOL Well maybe not that bad but 1st gear for me is still worth shifting through. You also have to take into account that my car is a "little bit" heavier than a 240Z. Guy
  15. Look'n good Tim! 8) Like it was said before, its only a matter of time before the engine bay is sparkling like the rest of the car! How are those headers working out for you? Any leaks? Also is your LT1 stock? Guy
  16. Tim I still want to see a pic of the engine bay and how about a side shot of the whole car? I still cant beleive your done...I never thought you'd finish! LOL Guy
  17. Congratulations!!! Now lets see some pics of the completed project! I want to see a pic of the engine bay too! Guy
  18. Well did you take the Z out for a drive today? Guy
  19. Well I do live in Wisconsin but we dont really get too much snow! We just get ice and salt! LOL I dont drive my car in the winter though so its pointless for me to hold to these. They are just taking up space. Guy
  20. How $much$ is that going to run you? Sounds expesive...? I bought a digital camcorder but it records on MINI DV tapes...then I bought some software and a "FIREWIRE" card and cable and now I can upload all my movies on to my computer and edit them as I please. I am quite pleased with how well it works. I cant wait to have some videos of my car in action! Guy
  21. Ohhhhhhhhhh Baby! Talk about perfect timing! LOL Hey did you ever get a digital camcorder? If so you know your going to have to show us some videos of that baby in action! Guy
  22. Yeah its a sleepy thats for sure! But the hood pins would make me think twice! I second what Tim said "get rid of that Home Depot cold air intake" LOL It totally takes away from the beauty of the LS1! All I can look at is the heat ducting Guy
  23. Since I now have tires for my 17's I will no longer be running my original rims. I have the "Iron Cross" 14X6's. Now heres the question..."are these rims worth anything?" If so how much? Thanks, Guy
  24. Well I orderd the kit Monday and they called me back yesterday... the said they are out of them right now but are expecting an order to come in any day. I also got a set of headlight covers and a 2 new side mirrors(the stock ones are huge and ugly!) They are going to call me back on Friday to give me the final shipping qoute since they couldnt yesterday due to the holidays. He said it will be between $100-$150 to ship it. Guy
