  1. This has been hugely helpful, thanks a lot guys. I'm keeping my eyes out for an R32 GTR LSD, but I still have my 3.90 R200 which I will run for now. The R230 setup would definitely be way too much for me, probably ever.
  2. The R32 R200 would be ideal, do the kits out there work for mounting it though? I'll have to research what flange it uses, 5 or 6 bolt. 4.11 is what the RB25s were designed to work with out of the factory (as far as I am aware). Thanks for the info.
  3. I was told a 5mm spacer was all that was needed in the front, but I'm running a 7mm for a little extra clearance. Your rear tire will get a little chewed up from rubbing, but it's just cosmetic.
  4. You'll probably want to roll your fenders at least a little, especially if you want to drop the car a little. I have the same wheels but in +10 offset. I run spacers which avoid any contact with the spring perches, but my rears rub fairly easily. I'm running 225 50s. If you have a front spoiler, you might have to do a little trimming to avoid scraping it when on full lock. Lastly, for my wheels, I needed to get longer wheel studs, off of a Nissan quest, the rear to be exact? That info is on Hybrid, probably in a thread I made a year or so back heh.
  5. Hey guys, I'm looking for a super clean rear chrome bumper for my 240z. I'm talking fresh, I found one that I might go with, just want to see if anyone on HybridZ has one they want to sell. I'd prefer it to not have the rubber strips, though I suppose I can just take them off. I am located in Baltimore MD, let me know what you have.
  6. Yea, seriously that car makes me weak in the knees. Especially those wheels, sooo jealous haha.
  7. I definitely plan on doing a CV swap, probably with the MM kit. That or the wolf creek one, which is a lot more expensive...
  8. Have you advertised this on Zilvia and NICO? I hope you can get enough interest to make a run, I want one really bad haha.
  9. Thanks everyone, I am going to stick with the 3.90, I'm going to stay as close as I can to the original ratio, a quaife setup would be pretty sweet too...
  10. You've heard this before, but I really did search. I really appreciate the info, to answer the three questions: my Z will be a fun cruiser, not racing it quite yet, I have almost no money left haha, and I respect the search, just didn't see anything RB specific.
  11. I am working on an RB25DET swap for my '73 Z. I can't decide what diff to run, I have a 3.90 R200 open diff which more and more seems like a faster way to new tires every month haha. I want to match the final drive of the rb25, which is 4.11 or is that essential? I'm doing a lot of research on R230 swaps, it's a more expensive but much stronger option. If I have read it correctly, the R230s have 3.54 or 3.69? What diffs are you guys running? Any advice or experience you have would be greatly appreciated.
  12. I'm looking for a set of euro/jdm tails for a 240z. I'd prefer a set in good shape with clean chrome strips, no cracking, you know the drill. Thanks.
  13. Thinking about sprucing up my interior and was just wondering if anyone has modded 350z pedals or S2000 pedals to fit an S30, and how difficult it would be. I am considering get a set from ultimatepedals.com which would fit perfect, but 350s have nice aluminum pedals too. If you have aftermarket pedals, post up a shot if you can to show us all.
  14. I got a response from the owner, he says that even with a rolled fender, 8.5s with 225 50s rub really bad. If I want a 9" I would need probably a 215 and a lot of negative camber at the very least... Might be easier to go 8.5 in the rear with 205s, which is what he has upfront.
  15. Oooo I wish I could run some of those Advan tires from Yokohama haha. The only trouble I think I might run into is finding a set of 205 45s for the front, and 225 45s for the rear. Maybe it's my OCD, but I'd like to run the same set of tires, albeit staggered. I am also looking at set of these: Toyo Proxes
  16. Thanks, that is really helpful. I was looking at toyo tires possibly, falkens too. My only worry with 50 profiles is clearance; I feel like 45s would fit a little better.
  17. Now that is some promising news, thanks man. What do you guys think about a 225 45 on a 9" wheel? Not ridiculous stretch, might be enough to fit the fenders though.
  18. Thanks man, haha that's the first encouraging opinion as to my little quest haha. I will have coils, and the 9" wats are -13 offset. If I could run 245s I'd be thrilled, but with that offset I just don't know...
  19. I see where both sides are coming from to an extent. I promise, I'm not one of those "hella jdm bro" guys. I don't want my car slammed, I also don't want my wheels poking like hell from my tires. I do want an aggressive wheel fitmant, but I am unwilling to cut my fenders. Like I said, I want the best of both worlds and I'm gonna have to just make up my mind. I really think 9" watanabes can fit under non flared fenders. I just haven't found an example yet.
  20. A lot of the S30s I'm seeing on the japanese Watanabe site are running 205s on a 9 inch wheel, and it doesn't look bad at all.
  21. From what I can find, the 8.5s only come in one offset, -6. Arrghhh, I can't figure what I want to do. Either run a 9 with 205s in the rear and 8 in the front, or go the safe route and run 8s with 225. I understand why Hybrid doesn't like stretched tires, so rip on me if you must, but I really think some cars, S30s in particular pull it off well. I'm not going to track the car (for now) and it's no longer my daily. However, first I have to come up with the money for these wheels anyway before I start dreaming haha.
  22. I stumbled onto another forum he belongs to where someone asked him what wheel and tire size he's running. The wheels are actually 8.5 all around, I believe it's a 205 50 16 up front and a 225 50 16 out back.
