  1. Autozone haha, they're actually right off a Nissan Quest, if you end up needing the part number I can get it for you, pretty straight forward swap but still a pain...
  2. Nice, do you have stock wheel studs on the car? I put extended studs on my Z for the RB-Rs, hoping I won't have any issues...
  3. That is some good news, congrats on the wheels. Can't wait to see these on a Z. What color did you go for?
  4. I'd certainly like to see some cars run those RKRs in 17s, too big for me but no doubt some people will pull it off well. I really wish they made them in 16s, that would be a no brainer for me but alas.
  5. That's a lot of wheels...but I think the interest might be there. I just ordered a set of 15x8 0et, but if this pushes through I'd still put my name in. I bet a lot of the AE86 guys would be interested, maybe even some miata guys who want to go wide. If any of you guys happen to belong to any other forums, post up the info.
  6. I went for the bronze 15x8 0et, I totally agree haha, you almost can't go wrong with a white car and bronze wheels. For tires I went yokohama AVS 225 50 15, if the group buy ever happens for the 15x9s I'll go that route, but for now I'm playing it safe. I ordered it yesterday, tires will be here today probably and wheels by the end of next week. As soon as it all gets mounted, I'll be sure to throw some images in this thread. The car is in the shop getting de-rusted and painted, I literally cannot wait to see it "reborn" again haha.
  7. Guess we'll find out soon heh, I just ordered a set.
  8. I'm debating selling my RB-Rs for some grid Vs, but I can't actually find any good images of them on S30s. I've found plenty of TE37Vs, but they are offered in a whole bunch of great sizes, the Rotas...aren't. Just hoping someone knows of an image with them on an S30, maybe even with 225 50s..?
  9. I am lookIng to replace my red door panels in my '73 Z. Mine have cutouts for speakers and since I plan on not having any audio system in the car, they look totally terrible. I would prefer a clean set, they don't have to be concourse but the cleaner the better. Thanks.
  10. Yea, you are right about that. If I can 0 offset I'll go that route, but if the group buy ends up being a negative offset I'll stretch a tire on, 205 or something...
  11. I sent an email to Kim, the NA distributer, and asked how many orders would be needed. My plan is to run these wheels without flares, would anyone else be using these on a non flared S30? If I get any more details, I'll update this post. Also, if things look good for a group buy, I will start a thread in the group buy section.
  12. I would probably be in for a set, let us know what they say.
  13. I stand corrected, wasn't quite that car...could have sworn it was though. Here is the one I was thinking of, another pretty aggressive setup with Work Equip 01s. There are a bunch of shots here: http://www.downshift...wool-no-thanks/
  14. I found a ton of info on that white car once, a whole write up and a bunch of shots...I'll see if I can find it again. It's in Australia I believe, and was recently up for sale. Good looking car, very low and very aggressive setup and camber, probably too much so for a lot of the guys here haha.
  15. I have 16x8s now. I guess I want to have a different look, wide wheels that poke out a little look good to me, to each their own. You are right about tires, they are quite expensive for a decent set.
  16. The first two photos are of the car with 16x8.5s all around. 205 50s in the front and 225 50s in the rear. Pretty low clearance, but some none the less. That car is owned by user lalito here on hybrid. The white car is from the japanese watanabe site, and it is running 9s in the rear with 225 45s. That image makes me think it might be doable, albeit super tight.
  17. Alright guys, I've tried to do as much reading and searching as I can but I would appreciate opinions on the matter. I think I am going to buy a set of watanabe r types, 16x8.5s for sure up front and I'd like to do 16x9s in the rear. The offset for the 9s is -13. I do not like the fender flare look personally so I'd like to do this with a stock appearance. The car is a 1973 240z. I will be installing GC coilovers beforehand and most likely TTT camber plates. I have found images of 16x8.5s in the rear with 225 50s and they're tight. My plan is to use either 225 45s with max negative camber or 215s and camber. I'm sorry if you don't like stretched tires, I know I could flare the car and call it a day but I'm not going to do that. Please keep your harsh comments to yourself, please. I'm not trying to start an argument thread haha. I'm not some "hellaflush" kid or some drift nut. I promise. I'd love to hear from any people who have wide wheels on their Z but no flares, how do you make it work? I'll post some pictures of my findings soon. Thanks for any input, let's keep it constructive please haha.
  18. You said it Tony, I had one of my emblems stolen off my Z a while back, felt like my car had been violated heh. I like the electrodes method...
  19. You are definitely correct on the tire options, 16s are a pain. Though, not as bad I might say as the tire sizes for a DeLorean...damn if they aren't impossible to find.
  20. If Kim can set up a group buy for a set of 16s my brokeas$ might be in haha..
  21. You said it best, while saving money is never a bad thing, proper R-Types cannot be improved upon, in my opinion.
  22. Am I the only one bummed these are only available in 17s? 17 is too big for my taste. I have RB-Rs now, and these certainly look a lot better, but then they would since they look identical to Wats. Maybe I'll just be super irresponsible and order a set of R types...
  23. Hey un-fairlady z, I too am digging those centerlines, normally I don't, but your car makes them look great. What size tire are you running? I am debating a set of 16x9 wats in the rear with no flares, I personally like a little poke. Do you have any adjustable camber in the back of the car?
  24. I'm running an 8 up front too come to think of it it heh, and a 7 out back to push the rear out and flush things out. I'm definitely rubbing pretty bad though. That front cap won't fit, kind of a let down but ive never seen any RB-R owners with S30s get that thing on...
  25. 50s fit nice, I'm running them on my Z, glad to know you are happy with the wheels.
