  3. Personally, I would get these, I did last year when I installed my Q45: Billet R230 CV Adaptor, 70-78 Z Car Also, look at this kit too, again I bought this as well: R200/R230 Viscous Differential Mounting Package BTW: DON'T FORGET you'll need FOUR (4) Q45 inner CV axle assemblies Here's my Q45 upgrade thread to give you some ideas/pictures: Q45 upgrade

    s30 diff!

It'll be easier AND cheaper to get one from a local pick n pull yard IF you have the tools to pull one yourself

  6. I ordered them straight from Wilwood. Here are the part numbers and prices for my Wilwood parts: 4oz reservoirs: 260-5752 ($11.82 each) Screw caps: 330-4355 ($8.93 each) 4oz filters: 260-3394 ($4.13 each) Reservoir clamp: 260-3393 ($5.34 each) Proportioning valve: 260-8419 $45.30
  7. What cam is that exactly? Those numbers aren't bad at all ! Now put some better flowing heads on there and open up your exhaust for 420+hp
  8. You should have read my thread I made 2 weeks ago! I did the same thing you did, only I used Wilwood items. Acardone MC from Oreilly's too.
  9. You can also get a short nose R200, AKA Q45 diff, it also has the VLSD. 92-95 Q45s work, maybe even a 91 model... You'll also need to get custom axles too. MM sells some. 91-95 Q45 diffs used the same CV ends. I got 1 pair of mine off of a 91 Q45. It's nice to have the piece of mind that your rear end is solid. I knocked off 3/10ths in the 1/8th after my swap Here's a link to my Q45 upgrade thread. It has some info you may need. Q45 upgrade
  10. The small/FRONT reservoir feeds the REAR brakes. The rear/LARGE reservoir feeds the FRONT brakes. Here's a picture of the stamping on my 15/16ths MC. BTW, the rear line does split in the rear of the car. I believe it splits around where the rear end is (roughly)... In my experience with my 77, I had to bleed mine vigorously on the backs. I mean about 15 pumps on the passenger rear Don't just pump it 3-4 times, that won't work ! 15-20 pumps is more like it, just don't let the reservoir go dry or you'll be back to square one !
  11. Hey there James. I live CLOSE to you ! Maybe I can look at the car in person and give you some advise
  12. Hey all. I've been slowly gathering the necessary items for my front brake upgrade in the near future. I will purchase the actual brake kit once I finish the paint job on the Z, Brake kit will be this one: Silver Mine Motors However, I do have some goodies already purchased and put together. 79-81 280xz MC from Oreillys It's Acardone part# 11-1837 ACardone I also purchased a full reservoir set and proportioning valve from Wilwood. Completed assembly Can't wait to put it together in the next few months

    280zx MC

    From the album: 77 280z

Acardone 79-81 280zx MC from Oreillys. Wilwood reservoir setup including filters, clamps, reservoirs w/caps. Wilwood proportioning valve.
  15. Look at the Wilwood reservoir relocation kits on their website Wilwood
  16. Good choice to upgrade the old worn out stuff I recently finished my "upgrades" too, front control arm bushings were my last pieces... I would replace the steering rack bushings, tension rod bushings and steering coupler if you haven't already. Also, I was looking at the bolts you used for the steering knuckle to strut assembly, those are hardened bolts correct? And not some cheap stuff from Lowes?
  17. Deja, did the MC you purchase come with the piston rod? If it didn't, what did you use? Thanks
  18. I read you could use the 280z reservoirs on the ZX style, however mine are pretty much shot, so I'm looking for a replacement for them too BTW, does anyone know which/if any Wilwood reservoirs will work on the 79-81 280ZX MC ???
  19. Deja, which one did you get form Oreillys? The picture of the Beck Arnley one shows it comes with reservoirs O.o
  20. I have been doing some research on my soon-to-be front brake upgrade on my 77 280z. I found a decently priced master cylinder from Autozone by a company called Fenco. Has anyone bought this particular brake master cylinder???? Link for reference: 79-81 280zx Fenco Brake Master Cylinder
  21. I see another problem you have. You have your sand blasting cabinet mounted to your ceiling ! On a serious note. That is NOT good at all. I couldn't imagine what would happen if the brake caliper were to get wedged/broken off while in a turn This is a good example of exactly what to do after you install ANY item........double/triple check your work ! Make sure nothing has been left unchecked or loose... Good catch ! Glad you found this out BEFORE you took it for a test spin. Noob question; What is this JSK brake setup you are using?
  22. I had the best/worst of both worlds when I did my Q45/Modern Motorsports LCA swap last year. One spindle pin came out great! I hit it about 4 times and it slid right out. The other spindle pin, well........it got cut into 3 pieces I had already bought brand new spindle pins and lock bolts so I didn't care if I destroyed them or not. When I put the NEW spindle pins back I bathed them in anti-seize for a future build
  23. Here's another idea. It's from this thread: http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=153092&page=3
