  2. I found this site today, entertaining. http://www.carsinbarns.com
  3. Jon, I have these on my Grand Cherokee. They totally eliminate brake dust on my wheels. I do believe that the ceramic is in the lining.
  4. I also need one, not because I want it, but for carb clearance. I don't want to cut up my stock hood. Any info will be greatly appreciated.

My cousin has one sitting in the back of his bodyshop. A future project that he picked up a few years ago. It's a former gasser, full tube frame, glass doors, glass one piece front end. It has a very trick small block in it.
  6. I wondered the same thing, so I pulled a Cobra rim from my sons Mustang and tried in on my ZX. Wont fit, Mustang has a smaller bolt circle diameter. They might work with an adapter.
  7. Back in the early and mid seventies I worked in the parts dept of the local Lincoln/Mercury dealer. It was also the local Pantera dealer. Had the oportunity to drive them several times. IT'S STILL MY FAVORITE CAR! I remember a time when the owner of the dealership (my boss) had a Ford meeting in Lansing and drove one of his Panteras. On the way back to Grand Rapids, traffic was non-existant so he thought he would see what the Pantera would do. Well, he got stopped and ticketed for doing 160 in a 55.
  8. Sure is. I'm making progress on my ZX. The motor and trans are in.
  9. Hi Andy, Long time no see. I know of several people running reverse pattern manual valve bodied autos on the street with no problems. I, myself, would not like it, I'm getting too old and forgetful. Is that dash still crack free?
  10. Next door neighbor has a friend who has one with a built 383. It's amazing to watch 4 35" tires smoking.
  11. I'm in Caledonia, about twenty miles south of Grand Rapids. Where are you?
  12. My son's 90 Mustang has one of the nicest sounds I have ever heard. He has a built 302, full length headers into Flowtech X-pipe, into Flowmaster Mufflers into full length 2 1/2" stainless tailpipes. I'll have to say, though, that the nicest sounding exhaust note I have ever heard is my friends 347SBF powered Superformance Cobra replica. Those sidepipes are awsome!
  13. My son just bought a new 02 Suzuki TL 1000 R. He's been trying to get me to ride it. I DON'T THINK SO! Just looking at it scares me. I'll just stick to a little four wheeled two seater with a V-8.
  14. If all that is available is 1/4 or 1/2, I would go with the 1/2 and reduce the spacers thickness by 3/16. That would be my way around it.
  15. I will soon be in this same position of tuning a Holley DP carb. I also have a 700R4. Doyou think a 2200 stall converter will be enough to overcome the heavy load at idle? My cam is a 488/510 lift 228/238 @.050 Dur.
  16. I had that same problem with my 79 ZX. I replaced the stock springs/struts with MSA springs (suposed to lower it about 1") ant Tokico struts. My car sat about 1 1/2" higher than stock. Made it look like a 4x4. I ended up cutting a coil off each spring just to get it back to stock height.
  17. I bought my '79 GL in '98 from the second owner. It had 112k miles on it. No rust (from Orlando Fla.) I paid $800. It needed a little work (very little)to get it running as it had sat in the previous owners garage for 3 years.
  18. I second what Tim said. Very good people to work with, and very knowlegeable.
  19. I believe it originally was a 240SX, GT3 racer, re-skinned with a 350Z body.
  20. I believe the old exhaust outlet now becomes the inlet from the crossover pipe from the left side manifold. To equalize backpressure both sides of exhaust need to feed turbo. Just an uneducated thought.
  21. I advertised mine on all the purist Z sites and sold it pronto. Mine was a 280ZX though.
  22. Found this on another site. Very funny. http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=776885
  23. ... in Arlington, Texas. Has anyone done business with them? I'm getting ready to start rebuilding/setting up my 700R4. They seem to have quite good prices on the parts that I need.
