  1. Check with Bowtie Overdrive. http://www.700r4.com They have much info, as well as the correct parts to set up your 700R4. They are also very helpful in answering your questions. They helped me with mine.
  2. I'm using a 7qt. Moroso pan in my ZX. I also am running slightly lowered suspension. The pan sits slightly lower than a stock pan. With caution, it should work all right (no speed bumps). You should be able to see it in the pic of the trans mount on my page below.
  3. I fired up the 350 for the first time, last night. I put the new battery in, and turned the key. The motor spun two revolutions and imediately fired up. It runs and sounds great even with no exhaust. I didn't run it very long, maybe 30 or 40 seconds. All that's left to do is wire the Taurus fan, install air cleaner, and exhaust. Check web page below for pics.
  4. I was in the army, enlisted during Vietnam. I never went there but would have, if called. I fought the war on ski patrol in the German Alps, instead. My son is presently a Marine Combat Engineer in Iraq.
  5. I also used Ross' adapters on my ZX. They work great. I just went to the local parts house and purchased the lugnuts. Check my page below for pics.
  6. Scotty, I did not receive any replies from Andy to the last couple of e-mails I sent. I think Davy is right.
  7. Mitch, I have seats from a 94 Eagle Talon, same as Eclipse, They went in quite easily. They sit slightly higher, but not as much as in an earlier Z. Check out my page below for a picture.
  8. Nice pics, thanks. an awful lot of pictures of Berger Camaros. Berger is just 2 miles down the road from where I work. Berger Camaros are plentiful around here.
  9. Guy, those valve covers look like the same ones I have on my 350. They are just chrome plated stock type covers from Summit.
  10. http://hybridz.org/nuke/modules.php?op=modload&name=coppermine&file=displayimage&album=2&cat=0&pos=276 This is my other favorite activity, inline speed skating. This pic was taken at one of the US Cup, pro race series.
  11. I can't seem to get my pics to post, so here is a link: http://hybridz.org/nuke/modules.php?op=modload&name=coppermine&file=displayimage&album=lastup&cat=12594&pos=2
  12. I love those wheels. That is the look I wanted, also, but I couldn't find at a price I could afford. I settled for ADR Fuel Lites in 17". Also fairly light at 15 lb. http://hybridz.org/nuke/modules.php?op=modload&name=coppermine&file=displayimage&album=lastup&cat=12594&pos=1
  13. Guy, That's one reason why I adapted the Datsun power steering pump to my motor. That way I didn't have to disturb the lines.
  14. Clarksville is about 15 miles from me. If you would like, I might be able to go check it out for you. PM me with more info, if interested.
  15. My ZX sat about that high all the way around after installing MSA lowering springs. I had to cut a coil off each to get it to just look stock. Oh Chris, great looking car, I like the stripes.
  16. On my first Z/V8 conversion, I used mirrors from my donor car. They were from a 77 Z-28 Camaro. On my present ZX I am using the stock mirrors.
  17. Local Ford Dealer parts manager has several 427 side oilers in his heated pole barn, as well as several 427SOHC motors, and Boss 429 motors. He started collecting them about thirty years ago.
  18. I've driven my friends Superformance Cobra. VERY FAST, and very agile. But plan on wind in your face, all the time. A lot of buffetting at speed, and forget about listening to the radio. Oh, almost forgot, you think it's cramped in a Z, you don't know what cramped is until you drive a Cobra.
  19. A friend of mine has a Superformance Cobra. He has a 347 motor with a 5 speed. The car performs unbelievably well, and the fit and finish is exceptional. Plus, the sound out of those sidepipes is indescribable.
  20. My guess is this, http://hybridz.org/nuke/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=33476
  21. I pretty much did what labrat did. Very easy and very cheap. Check pics of my motor mounts. http://www.datsun-280zx-lt1.com/Spdsk8r.html
  22. Guy, The drivers side manifold is one my cousin had laying around, but I believe it is from a mid 70's Camaro. It has a casting number of 364747. On the passenger side I just used a rams horn manifold, one my cousin also had laying around. Again, thanks for hosting the page for me.
  23. Thanks, Guy. It looks great. Maybe I should give you the spec. for the wheels/tires. They are ADR Fuel Lites, 17x7, with bronze centers, and Kuhmo Extas, 225- 45ZR 17.

I second what Tim says. I followed Daves lead and used the manifold he used. It's a tight fit, but works well.
