  1. It happened to me, after the first date I knew she was the one. We've been happily married 29 years.
  2. Profiling goes on in western Michigan, also. I've had uncountable times where the police charge up to my ZX with intent, but when they see the old "geezer" driving it they loose interest imediately. Whereas, when my son had his red Mustang notchback with the 17" Cobra R rims and Saleen wing, he couldn't go anywhere without being harrased by the police. Now, he has a built, mini-tubbed 70 Dart Swinger, that is louder, faster, and wilder than his Mustang. The police now just wave or give him thumbs up.
  3. Actually it was the Ford Fourty-Nine concept car.
  4. I used a Chevy manifold, casting number 364747 on the drivers side. It's a tight fit but the manifold has a notch that clears the steering box.
  5. Benfield's GSXR and my son's Aprilia at Shady Valley.
  6. Inline speed skating (3 time National Champion in age group), cross training on road bike, and I just took on a new project: rebuilding a wrecked Suzuki TL1000R.
  7. Young women drivers:roll: Yesterday, on the way home from work, I was following a "young lady" in a late model VW Beetle. It had several dents, no brake lights, right tail light was out, left headlight was out. It was very obvious that she never used her rearview mirrors for their intended purpose as the inside mirror was adjusted for putting on makeup and the outside mirrors were pointing at the ground. Needless to say, I didn't stay behind her for very long.
  8. That sucks, I know how you feel. Last week my daily driver was hit also. A guy pulled out of a side street and hit me. Because of oncoming traffic I had no where to go.
  9. Hey, what else ya spose ta do when the ole lady backs the Camaro inta the pickem up? Ya take the good parts from both and combine.
  10. I used a 94 Camaro shifter with my 700R4. It has the neutral safety switch and the backup switch incorperated.
  11. You also may want to check with your local performance transmission shops. We have a couple of them here who carry, on hand, several cores that they will rebuild to your application. One local shop quoted me $1200 including higher stall converter, set up for maximum performance for my ZX/sbc application.
  12. I agree with you 100%. I guess my feeble attempt to explain myself was not clear. In a light car with <400hp, wouldn't the added weight be a disadvantage as well as the 4L80E be overkill, compared to the 200-4R? btw, Grumpy, did you ever use that driveshaft?
  13. The only problem I could see with the 4L80E is the fit in the Datsun trans tunnel. I believe the tunnel would require much 10lb. sledge customization. I presently have a broken 700R4 in my car. I am seriously looking at the 200-4R. A local trans shop said they would build a 200 set up specifically for my application. Since there are many Buick GN's running awsome numbers with the 200-4R, it should easily handle what I have.
  14. ... and if memory serves me correctly, an even stranger rear suspension (none).
  15. I have a 355 sbc with a 510/305 cam. I am running a 600DP with mech. secondaries and have had no problems.
  16. My cousin is building a "Rat Rod". It's a 49 Ford F-1 cab, hood, and grill (no front fenders) mounted low on a late sixties chevy half ton pickup chassis, with a late model S-10 box on back. It is powered by a 351 Cleveland Ford with a C-6 auto trans. It sounds strange, but it looks good.
