  1. I've done this, works well. Cleaned my headers right up!
  2. I was playing with my signal switch thinking, hmm that sure would be nice if it could do that, lol.
  3. Is that deal not going on anymore for $600 through... can't remember now.
  4. Good lord that can't be for a Z can it? 9500rpm redline...?
  5. It would still be jewelry with the right type of weld... many things look great with certain types of welds IMO.
  6. Not that it makes a differnce to the buy, but I'll be using a holset HY-35 with a T3 flange. It sounds like your R&D is in the ballpark for it's flow too, so I'll shuddup.
  7. That's amazing! The I-pod dock is what got me. Pretty sweet stow-in design!
  8. Sounds like i'm going to want one! Can't wait to see some progress.
  9. Are you just talking about just doing the speed limit and attempting to minimize acceleration to use less gas? I've never heard of "hypermiling".
  10. Got bored while the folks were off fishing, so I worked on my non-functioning fuel sender... Used CLR and a toothbrush, then water washed and coated in wd40 till I get it back in the tank. I now get full range from 11-87 ohms, yay! I also noticed some pinholes near the tank's drain plug, which when prodded turned into actual holes. Guess I'll have to weld them up next week before I paint and put the tank back in.
  11. Alright well so far this weekend I haven't done much what with mother's day and all, but I did get my gas tank cleaned and bumper shocks out. We used a gas powered powerwasher to clean all the gunk out of the tank, and it seems to have worked well. I'm letting it dry now, and plan to slosh around some gas in it tomorrow to work out any remainting water. It's not perfectly clean, but it's good enough not to ruin any gas I put in the tank like it would before. Next time out I'll go ahead and paint the outside with some black rustoleum to protect it before putting it back in the car. I also dissasembled all the stuff around the fuel filler to get a good look at the damage and what needs to be done to the area (pics). The arsehat PO just filled it with copious amounts of caulk, which subsequently rusted the fark out of the entire area. Sometime this week I'm going to see if I can steal my roomate out to the ranch long enough to throw everything together enough to be able to drive the car. I'd like to attempt to move (drive) the Z up to Fayetteville so I can keep working on it in our garage, and not be limited to only working on it during the weekends (and gas... can't forget the travel cost). Not sure if that'll be possible, but we'll see.
  12. I believe the transmissions you are referring to are "sequential" gearboxes. I'm not sure how they work, but they sound like what you are trying to describe. I'm sure google or wiki could shed some light using that term.
  13. Pretty sure that's the point of the PCV, to not let pressure back... could be wrong though.
  14. I'm thoroughly displeased with nissan over the new GT-R, yet it'll still sell like hotcakes b/c "OMG IT'S A U.S. SKYLINE!". Sad really, I wish they had kept the beauty flowing from the past iterations.
  15. That's better, but the angles are still just a little off... (not your fault, nissan's)
  16. 370z eh, like remux of 1970's Z's perhaps? Sure seems like it with the hood, very S30ish. It's OK, but like yall have said the headlights kinda suck, and look kinda like a Tiburon. It needs more work before I'd consider it IMO.
  17. Ahhhh the drive-OVER was awesome! I sat there like "will he do it, will he do it, OOOOH HE DID IT!!!!" Very nice sir!
  18. I've always wondered what the deal with hiding your tag is... splain?
  19. I've got a 260z like yours - We have the R180 3.36 gears. That matched with the 5spd should give a nice low cruising RPM and get GREAT gas mileage. Once I start driving my Z and get my speedo working I'll get some numbers for you.
  20. I got a ballast resistor, and everything works like it's supposed to! Had to get one from a parts car, since none of the autoparts stores seemed to have the right kind. Case closed.
  21. Amazing! I'll take one for sure. I do think the headlight buckets would look better integrated into the fenders though.
  22. Ha, it surprised me to see that pic here all of a sudden... hmm looks familiar! Congrats on the new ride!
