  1. Woohoo! Got my body parts! Poor Regal, workhorse again, lol. Thanks 1 tuff z!
  2. I've heard of magnetic oil drain plugs, which help, but I only recently heard about people putting magnets other places in the engine, like the heads for example.
  3. Awesome! I'll get around to that eventually. Let us know how the brake bias feels!
  4. Yep, and thanks Daeron! Now then... Hmm, get my oil needle off zero eh? So maybe it's not just a poor PO engine rebuild giving me near 0 oil pressure at extended periods of idle... Maybe it's... normal?? EDIT: W00t. I'm betting that's my problem. (the former, hopefully not the latter)I've got a L28ET block laying around, I guess I could borrow its turbo oil pump too, at least until I decide to swap the motor in.
  5. Wish all females were that understanding and borderline interested in cars, lol. Lucky guy you!
  6. Lol we put that lawlrus and such on our tv show as a cameo
  7. I've seen that E30 rally vid before, pure awesomeness. That's truly gotta be driving bliss! I can only hope to someday be half that good, ha!
  8. That's a good idea, I'll check all the joints as well. I put the motor and tranny together and in myself, so I've seen the clutch and bearing. Although, I wouldn't have known if the bearing was bad or not , so if it's still giving me problems I'll drop the tranny and check it. I'm trying to spend as little on the carbs as I can, but we'll see. They're only to tide me over till I get the L28et I have put together and swapped in with Megasquirt. They just need to run decently, not perfect, so I think I have them pretty well sync'd for my purposes. I have a feeling I'm going to need to rebuild them with new needles and jets though, but that $180 hurts for just a temporary setup. During the cleanup stage I also um... might have... dropped a piston and bent the crap out of the back carb's needle, then straightened it back , but the pistons don't stick at all, and it looks very straight watching it go in and out. If it keeps giving me problems I'll break down and buy the rebuild kit from Ztherapy .
  9. Alrighty, well as of today I have on the way my 240z xenon air dam with signals and front & rear bumpers. The front bumper has a ding or two, but I think I did pretty good on the package deal, so it'll buff out. So the list of things to do has shrunk to: Neutralize the rust, possibly leave repair for later when it's in fayetteville Put the fenders and hood back on Modify and attach the 240z parts - i.e. bumpers tail lights etc Sand and put the body in primer See if the vaccum advance is sticky on the dizzy Work on getting the carbs happier - adjust mixture, maybe check the float bowls Re-check the valves with the engine hot Weld my exhaust together Check and replace the diff and tranny fluids (bought some Lucas 80w-90 gear oil today)
  10. Yeah about that... Yes you can remove it, but you need to put a breather on the tank vent line, or the pressure in the tank can become a problem (or so I've read around here). Most people cut the vent line off near the tank, bend a U into it so gas doesn't spill out, then cap it with a filter.
  11. I've been more into CNC, but I'm looking forward to Starcraft II
  12. They claim MPEG2 is best to upload, but I've had best results with either: Straight h.264 or .mov (h.264 codec) Be sure to set it to progressive scan, 320x240, and as high of a bitrate as you are comfortable waiting to upload.
  13. Challenger is working on that too! http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=132261
  14. Mine console came with some in it, they look pretty old though. Nice job on yours!
  15. "Oooooh EEEoooh oooEH-!" And then your computer starts smoking... I'll bet it happened just like that too
  16. Wow! Sounds awesome!! Lol the mexican music right before the v8 awesomeness makes it that much better.
  17. Any yay's or nay's on the vaccum advance theory for the crappy high rpm and under load acceleration?
  18. I think the original spoiler and wheel better reflect the overall theme of the car. The whaletail, surprisingly, seems to tone down the outlandishness of the overall car design, which obviously contradicts the rest of the car. Just kinda seems out of place... too ordinary compared to everything else, not that it looks bad though.
  19. Did you take any pics before disassembly, or of the broken part afterward? I'm just kinda interested in the valvetrain lately, since I tried my hand at adjusting the valves for the first time this weekend.
  20. Alright well I got everything on the car patched together this weekend, and had a chance to take her for a spin. I probably shouldn't since mud got EVERYWHERE due to the recent rain turning our under-construction road into mush. Forgive my driving, I'm still learning stick. There are some problems you'll undoubtedly notice: Under load the motor misfires and loses power, and also won't get above 3500rpm. I'm thinking it might be a sticky vaccum advance, since I've checked the plug gaps, adjusted the valves, and don't think I have a vaccum leak (unless it's the booster). Going downhill it putters and misfires a little, but I think I may have the carbs too rich. I'll work on that next time I'm out there. You can hear some whirring or slight grinding when decelerating. I need to check my tranny and diff fluids... hopefully that's all it is.
