How much was it to have the tank cleaned/boiled? I'm going to need to have it done too.

A bolt could have backed out of the pressure plate? That would be pretty scary if the pressure plate was flexing, and causing the "pulsing". Bolt could be vibrating around in the bottom.

Is it ok that you torque'd it to spec to plastigauge, then took it back apart? I assume the three times they refer to is once and for all, not 3 separate times right?

Crescent wrench and a rubber mallet worked for me. Don't give it the chance to round off!

If you get it from autozone, you'll probably be missing some stuff. When I got my reman S30 master cyl, it was ONLY the core cylinder. No reservoirs or clamps.

I threw this together from some pics of 240hoke's car I found floating around various threads. I've got it on my right monitor, and the progress of my car on the left. Kinda as an inspiration, lol. 1600x1200

A split pulse equal length manifold would be nice, I think everyone would agree, I know I'd like one if possible... but it comes down to cost. We can talk semantics once we get more info and costs from the builder

Sunday was semi productive, felt like going in the wrong direction, but it was stuff that had to get done: Got my headers painted, so now they're nice and sexy looking, instead of crappy and rusty. While my roomate was working on his car, i went ahead and took apart the back float bowl to fix the leaking fill needle. I used rubbing compound and carb cleaner to clean up the needle and such, and bent the needle retainer a little to stop the it coming down and binding on the float tab. No more fuel fountain! Started working on getting all the flaked paint stripped off. There's quite a bit of bondo I'm finding, joy. I also got the rear tail lights and panels pulled out. Now I need to grab those 240z tail lights from David and get them fabbed in. Dropped the gas tank, which I think may be ruined. I'm going to take it to a radiator shop to see if it can be salvaged, but it might be more worth my money just to get a fuel cell. Further research is necessary.

So a little progress today: Got my two problem studs replaced. The first had about 1/4" broken off, the second about 1/4" stripped. I still have one that is stripped going into the block, so I'll try that thread repair stuff on it tomorrow. Also got my exhaust finshed and welded up (pics). My headers are soaking in the rust-removal bath as we speak, and I'll get them high-temp painted tomorrow night. I think I'm going to put off fixing my electrical gremlins, and just not drive at night for now. I really need to start on the body work, so I'll see if I can knock out the rust areas tomorrow now that Dan is here to help. I also need to re-adjust the back carb bowl, since it's spewing gas out the vent again .

For another forum I finally found a recent enough picture of myself worthy to make it onto the internet, so I decided to dig up this thread and post it here too for those of you that haven't met me yet. I played around with it for a little while in photoshop, and I'm decently happy with the results: This thread should be a sticky IMO, I searched around for it for nearly 10 minutes. It was pretty deeply hidden for searching "post a picture of yourself" and it being a few pages in.

Not an expert here, but from that vid it looked like the pin might be missing. That was some serious play. As far as the bushings, you can go to Autozone and get the "Help!" brand Chrysler brass door bushing set, file them down a little and have better than stock bushings. That's what I did, and they work great!

Is that yours? That's pretty sweet looking work. I'm thinking about trying twin holsets at some point a long time from now. Should be... interesting. Pretty sure it hasn't been done yet, so I figure why not.

Looks awesome, congrats! What version of fender mirrors are those? They seem bigger than the ones I'm used to, and the vertical brace seems offset from center. What size and width tires and wheels are those? They look great squeezed under those flares!
