  1. I go to MCC, I'm going to transfer(most likely to RIT) after this year. I'm a sophomore.
  2. Except when your professor has a really thick accent........
  3. We started a couple weeks ago. calc 3, physics 2, statics, circuits, and sociology(lol) ME or EE, havn't decided. Probably ME.
  4. If I were you, and I had another car to drive, I'd put it away for a while. You're going to take a big hit selling it. JB WaterWeld works pretty good on oil pans, just clean up the area with acetone. Maybe some bars leak in the radiator too, until you get a chance to do the head gasket.
  5. Did you ever take it to the drag strip? This is such a cool build, more videos!
  6. Grab a TB gasket and head to a machine shop?
  7. Not bad for a first outing, keep practicing. You should be able to squeak out some 11's with a 113mph trap, I've gone 12.3 at 109 in my camaro.
  8. Nope, but if you go look at an SBC powered Z, just imagine the engine missing 2 cylinders and you've got a 4.3 swap. the 4.3 IS an sbc that is missing 2 cyl.
  9. The megasquirt fires the coil based on the low res pulse from the CAS, six slots for six ignition events.
  10. If I had an MSII I'd probably bend MOV1 down and put it above the DB37. I'm not entirely pleased with the current mounting location because the bottom rubs against the adjustment screw on one of the VR pots, I may jest drill a hole in the board so it doesn't do that anymore. I also think I should move the wire that I have going to the +5v to a +12v, as per the diagram on the megamanual. Lots of clearance, here's a pic.(I like pictures)
  11. Here's a pic of the board I added. I hope hybrid z automatically scales it, because it's pretty big.
  12. It's really just a 2"x3"(roughly) hobby board from radio shack. I'd take a picture but I can't find the cable for my camera, I'll post one when I find it. I did it so I had more room to work with. Right now I've just got the fan circuit on it because I've still got a dizzy. I'm going to add the other stuff once I get the car going.
  13. I believe that the features are similar, the big difference is time spent, but you could buy a pre-assembled MS to save yourself 8-9 hours. I found the megasquirt pretty easy to tune on a TBI chevy, it still has a minor light throttle stumble that I'm working on, but otherwise it's great. I have no experience with any of the haltechs though. Here's a MS feature table to compare to.
  14. Roughly how long does the line have to be? Didn't know that. Thanks.
  15. Any part numbers would be great, right now if I did it like my drawing it would cost $50. My oil pressure sender also has 1/8" BSPT. My turbo has an 1/8" BSPT thread, that's what the separate adapter in my drawing is.
  16. All Mcmaster-carr part numbers. I used the BSPT to NPT and BSPT coupler because mcmaster-carr didn't have a brass npt male to bspt female fitting, only a stainless one that was 2x as much as both of these. Anybody got a simpler/cheaper way to do it?
  17. I got another PCB that fits inside the case, I can't stand trying to cram all that stuff on the proto area.(fan, 2 step, boost control, etc) It takes about 15min to solder up. Where in NY are you? I'm next west of rochester. I've got some questions about your turbo, It's identical to what I've got.
  18. In the s30(don't know about the s130) the stock EFI is in a separate wiring harness than all the lights and what not. You can completely remove the stock ECM and EFI harness and everything else will still work.
  19. Could you use the tacho pin on the megasquirt?
  20. Kind of off topic, but, when do you start to see boost and when do you see max with that turbine? It's very similar to the turbo I'm going to run.
  21. I finished it last night at 2am with the butane one, I went and got some fuel. I've got a 15w electric one that I'll never use again, The cord is always in the way and it takes forever to heat up. Everything seems to work except one thing. The IGN LED(on the stim) doesn't light up, I've installed msns-e and configured it for edis. Is that LED supposed to light? I've done the following step:
  22. Seriously, I received my order 3 days after I placed it.
  23. Radioshack was closed this morning.....they open at 9am, I'll check on my way home. I checked digi-key.com. It's $.36 for D12 but $5 handling charge and ~$5 shipping. I think I can continue assembling it with out d12, so I could finish the rest and make sure to install d12 before I put it in the car.(which could be a while) I found the schematic for the power supply circuit. here Edit: Got D12, installed it. All is good. I got the input section done and part way through the output section when I ran out of butane for my soldering iron
  24. There was a guy on the turbo forums that used one on a hyabusa(?) with a gt35. He used a wastegate as the valve. He said it worked, but he never got it tuned right so he went back to a T25. I'm not too sure on all the details though.
  25. I figured I'd make some mistakes, and I'm glad it was easy to find(it's real easy to find where the smoke is coming from). I'm taking a digital electronics class right now, I found that IC's get REALLY hot when you switch the power and ground. I was kind of venting in my first post. I just hope that radio shack has D12 in stock.
