  1. My highschool didn't offer any useful AP classes, just english and history. College english turned out to be FAR easier than AP. We never did spherical coordinates, unless you mean polar. Now that I think of it, I don't think I had to do any triple integrals in that physics class, just calc 3.
  2. Have fun with that E&M physics, I'm so glad that class is over.
  3. Early 90's s10 with a turbo sbc mated to a big stalled 4wd th400, 9" in the back and a dana in the front...... It wouldn't turn well, but damn would it be fun in a straight line. I don't think there's an easy way to get a good 4wd manual transmission, I believe a few people have mated t56's to a transfer case with a custom adapter but I don't have any info because it was too far out of reach for me..
  4. I think I prefer not knowing. I want a shirt that says that.
  5. That looks JUST like the graph of a car I'm tuning. I don't have access to the car right now or I'd try the flyback noise reduction mod, I think that's what it is. This is the beginning of a 1/4 mile run, it's a TBI(2 low-z injectors) 305/700r4. You can see the voltage spikes triggering AE.
  6. It looks like a low budget project, I have no issues with ugly parts on cheap projects as long as they work. In fact, I'm more impressed by the guy with a fast car built out of scraps than the guy who has 50k into his.
  7. The ad said it was 82-83, unless I misread, it's late....
  8. It's a good deal, but I'd try to get it for $150ish. Paying $180 wouldn't be a deal breaker though.
  9. I paid $400 for my 280z, it didn't have a motor though. Body is in pretty good shape too.
  10. I'll second the blowthrough section of theturboforums.com, there are some REALLY fast cars over there. You could use a megasquirt to do the same thing for the same, or less money,
  11. So apparently I did well enough to get a C.
  12. I'd have to disagree, the v1/v2 flows 56lb/min. The s is kinda small, but still an upgrade from a t3. I wouldn't go and seek out a t04b compressor, but if you get a good deal like I did($50 for the turbo) I wouldn't turn it down.
  13. I'd like to see someone build an electric car because they thought it was cool or innovative, the whole foreign oil reason is almost too generic.
  14. One of the first classes I had to take was "engineering graphing and computing", it was an excel and matlab course. We did it in office 03, they switched to 07 the next year and I can't find anything. I'm a mechanical major, but I had to take a few electronics classes. Digital electronics wasn't bad, circuits was terrible. My prof. had this incredibly annoying way of introducing new concepts, he'd just start going through the math without giving a macroscopic view of what he was doing. I'd be wondering what he was doing and what it meant and that would distract me from how to do it. It was 2nd order RLC response that really got me on the final. I should check to see what I got, it can't be good. Maybe I'll like it better next semester.....
  15. yup, I've discovered that I really don't want to be an EE. Statics, however, turned out to be not that bad for only understanding every 3rd word.
  16. I'm winning so far! 4:29AM ......... I kinda wish I didn't take that ~4hr nap at 4pm.
  17. I think there is, they just deemed it not street worthy or something like that. I believe they said it couldn't go over a speed bump so it couldn't go on the board. I want to say it was called a caparo T1, or something to that effect.
  18. Yes, it's on Clarkson: Hot Metal about 4:20 in. It's not much longer than the youtube video.
  19. cough*faster*cough http://www.bbc.co.uk/topgear/show/powerlaps.shtml
  20. I've got 4 infinity reference 6.5" rounds in the 300zx, they REALLY need a sub. No bass at all. Sound quality is decent.
  21. I think it was the z32 that won, the 83 was 3rd after the 350 though.
  22. It sounds nice! Think you could post a dyno sheet? How much boost?
  23. t3/t4 is a VERY generic term, kinda like 'built' motor. It tells that it's not stock, but not much more. There are 2 common compressor series used, T04b and T04e. The T04b compressors are generally identified by letters, such as S trim or V trim. They are older designs that don't act as nicely at high pressure ratios. T04e compressors are generally identified by numbers, ie. 50 trim or 57 trim. Compressor maps tell you everything about them. Boost threshold(what's commonly called turbo lag) is determined by the exhaust side more than anything. You should probably check out maximum boost by corky bell, it gives a much better description of everything and the math to back it up.
