WTB: Bilstein P30 shock insert for 240Z/260Z with gland nuts
jasper replied to Leon's topic in Parts Wanted
More than a few years ago I picked up 2 full sets of Bilsteins, N O S. 1 set for the early cars, 1 set for the later cars. They are my personal fave. Very hard to come by. You have good taste. I'm also looking for a gland nut or 2 for the later cars. Good luck with the search. -
I would be concerened about the 1/4" material failing, under load!

Still looking!

So it looks like my 350 tpi/700r4 is finaly getting a new home. I already have the mounting kit. What I need is the JTR modified tailshaft housing that incorporates the mounting for the speed sensor, and also the tailshaft ring, etc, etc. I will consider a full JTR install kit (SBC), or any other JTR parts to complete this swap. Let me know what you have, and your asking price. Can PAYPAL. Also have parts for trade. Thanks....Tommy OR, if you have info on other alternatives..I'm all ears.

My 2 cents. The biggest problem I have is getting a quality job. Literally every time I hire someone to do something, I could have done a better job myself. Price is normally secondary to quality for me. I ended up assisting/building my basement with my contractor, because his workers didn't show up. Concrete waits for no man!! I could go on.......and on........

Thank You for your efforts.

I lost power Monday at 8 pm. Just got it back today, Saturday 4 pm. It's been a little chilly at night. I was lucky that we had power at work. I only lost a day and a half at work. Very few customers though,(Toyota Service Department) Lots of trees down, and thankfuly, I suffered no real loss. I'm now enjoying the house warming up, and internet service, etc.

Some of my cars are stored outdoors. Others are stored in buildings not sealed to the outdoors. I also have repaired many cars at work with rodent damage, and/or food storage issues(nuts, acorns, dog food, etc,) How do you deal with the invasion? How do you prevent non targeted animal issues? Not fond of a perpetual moth ball smell!

I work at a dealer. We don't see many. I don't think they sold many,(see above) No product problems that I know about. Call, or visit a dealer with the VIN for history. Or call me with a VIN, and I'll do my best. 973-953-4368..........Tommy I would SERIOUSLY compare against a Corolla. Weigh all the ++ and--. Both are good cars. Tell them to look at the XB'S...I like'm.

NICE!!

If it's structurally sound, buy it!

Maybe some confusion. Ebay car is HORRIBLE IN EXECUTION. Jack 280 is well done(externaly), and is barely perceptible. Jack280's car looks good. The OP car is a hack job. VERY POOR execution. Considering the QUALITY of his other mods, I would EXPECT this chop (jack 280) to be well done in execution.(quality wise)

Take a MUG SHOT of this A hole on your cell phone.

Actualy, I posted this pic/link to see what others thought of this hacked car. This car is a HORRIBLE mess. Butchered. THIS CAR IS NOT USEFUL IN ANY WAY. Your post ignores this FACT. Function over form is what Hybrid z is about. This car is WRONG in applied function......... Therefore....only your post should be removed.

I would use the original harness. We NEVER replace knock sensors, they don't fail. All rubber is a good idea. Use toyota hoses, they don't fail. Toyota FIPG black, is a good sealer. Make sure your crank bolt is tightned to spec.

I'm a Toyota tech. I do t belts and water pumps in the car all the time. I would put a rear main seal in it,and drop it in. Everything else is easy enough to do in the car, IF NEEDED. Check or replace the spark plugs in the rear bank before install. 90,000 mile interval, same as t belt.

A piece of wood, or other, could take the space of a spring temporarily. Even a small block of wood between the control arm and frame would work. Nice color choice. I'm lucky to have original paint. On 2 cars!!!

Rear wheel forward in wheel well
jasper replied to infiltrate2000's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
Due to parallax/angle of photos, it's not possible to draw intelligent conclusions. Get it on a drive on lift and take measurements. That is the ONLY way (aside from a car o liner) to answer your concerns, and confirm the problem(s). Depending upon which photos you look at, the width of the lower wheel well also looks different! Measurements are the only way. -

Post a pic of the drivers side for comparison. Maybe that is the problem side?? -
If you did not set toe, after setting camber, I would expect excessive toe in as the cause. Any adjustment requires a full alignment.
