I have never seen belt tooth profile NOT match, gear tooth profile. In stock form, if the belt is OVER TIGHTENED, things get noisy. In my opinion, the gear is not compatible with the current belt.

Learn how to solder, and repair it. Quick, cheap, and easy. Be careful with the gas. Don't use one with a flame.(electric)

Fuel in the float is the problem. Repair or replace the float. Readjust float level. Problem solved, no need to "rebuild".

Pulling the choke lever back "closes" the choke, adding fuel to the mixture. At the same time, it increase curb idle speed.(like stepping on the gas pedal) This will compensate for a lean condition, GENERALY caused by a vacuum leak. While the engine is running with the choke on, go under the hood and listen for hissing/whistling/sucking noises. Most probably a vacuum leak. A vacuum leak can also can also be found by spraying carb cleaner strategicaly. Listen for an immediate increase/change in engine speed/noise. Good luck.

A choke is CLOSED when it is ON. A choke is OPEN when it is OFF. The console lever is rearward when it is ON. The console lever is forward when it is OFF. The 260Z as built does not require the "holding" of the CHOKE in any postion. What exactly are you holding ON??? Note;refers to standard terminology...NOT necessarily enrichment circuits.

No more iac (idle air contol valve). Drive by wire. Throttle position determines idle speed. (great for traction control) I don't even pay attention to customers with MPG concerns. (Toyota) RARELY does anyone DOCUMENT their mpg. The ECM's are very sophisticated, and would know if something was amiss. What has the weather and temperatures been like for the past several months? Have the fuels been reformulated for temperature changes? Has E85, or oxygenated fuels been in use?? Are you the only driver? More traffic than usual, Driving faster?? Do you now warm your car up on cold mornings,maybe to deice?? All these things ,and more, kill mpg.

That's why they call it WONDER bread. Also very useful for plumbing repairs.

It sounds like overfueling/running rich. What engine/ fuel system do you have? What is the history on the car? Milage? Pictures?
