  1. yea, roger on that one. i dropped one for my first time a few weeks ago and it was easy as pie and didn't weigh much at all.
  2. i am also getting tired of fixing my car...but i know it will be worth it. it ran fine when i swapped motors and now it doesn't.....then i had an electrical failure and it ended up being a fusible link...then i had to run a new wire for the starter....and yesterday i go to drive it to my z mechanic and it never made it but on a good note i went to an autocross and it was awesome! i was shotgun in a '76 280z with tons of suspension and engine work and wow....what a ride. handled like it was on rails and i nearly shat myself
  3. do you want the entire body kit? i have one brand new. pm me
  4. :icon4:so the car was fine and everything on the car worked except for the headlights. i just put in some dry gas and fuel injector cleaner and i was about to drive with dealer plates to the local gas station to fuel up when all of the sudden the car just died on me. gauges do not work, exterior marking lights don't work, headlight NOW work, interior EVERYTHING is dead. the only thing besides the headlights that works is when i turn the key, you still get all of the usual noises and the "charge" light in the voltmeter as well as the starter trying to turn over, but has a lack of battery. i checked the fuse box on the passenger floor and all are good. i will also put in another battery i have tonight just to check, but this is just weird and ticking me off. i would love to get this done asap because there is an autocross test and tune tomorrow.
  5. i have searched with no luck, sorry if i missed it. i have been looking through my '76 manual that i downloaded with no luck as well. i am looking to find the method that you guys use to test your voltage through your coil. i am told that idealy it will be 1v and anything less will cause a car to run rich. any help guys? my car is very rich random question--would an armor all wipe mess up my spark plug wires?
  6. i have some 2+2 fiberglass sideskirts from the MSA style 2 kit. brand new and never installed $200/shipped. and an update on my cars: my '77 is getting mirrors put on today, as well as a windshield on wednesday. still trying to lean it out a bit '78 part out is moving along. the car has lost all of its soul with no motor, trans, seats, front end, mirrors, or steering wheel. rear end is soon to be pulled as well. saving every manual part except for the transmission for my 5-speed swap down the road
  7. update: motor swapped between two cars in 3 days motor from my '78 is now in my beautiful '77 and purs like a kitten.....well, it actually roars like a lion and sounds like a v8. for the swap i had to cut the exhaust after the header so right now that is all there is....header. love the sound. all that is left to put her on the road is tranny fluid, some fuel, put the hood back on, mirrors, and a windshield starting her back up today put the biggest smile you can imagine on my face challenger--you got a 2+2 rear bumper?
  8. that is terrible....so what if scrap prices are reaching an all time high. he could have parted the car out as much as possible and THEN crush it. random question, if a datsun was stripped of all parts and you were left with just the unibody...is there anything left to do but crush it? or do people want pieces of that too?
  9. if you by any chance need a new cylinder with key, i have more than one lying around my garage
  10. did you not buy my fender because i didn't say happy birthday to ya?
  11. no rubbing, i am just saying that the fit it tight behind the wheel. no worries, i've just never put on a zero offset wheel. i have no complaints and i am running 245-45-16 tires
  12. jeff260z---i got my sportmax 002's from that guy you are talking about on ebay and he is a great seller. the wheels came in and fit great. tight fit but man do they look awesome
  13. clean is cool and all....i really do love clean, but for an area that is not seen often and a place where i like to do work----i would much rather be able to easily work on things than to have to hunt for them
  14. if i have one of those skinny 240 bumpers around, wouldn't it be a direct fit?
  15. i would love to swap the bumpers but the agreement of the deal with my dad to loan me the cash was to keep it stock for a while
  16. check out my new ride!! it's a 1977 280z 2+2, all original except for wheels and paint. has a dash cover but i really don't mind, and the paint is a 3-stage lambo yellow. florida car with no rust and 90k original miles http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l104/Rustyfriend/datsun.jpg http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l104/Rustyfriend/datsun-2.jpg
  17. i'm just curious, what size tire and how much drop are we talking about? it may help me see how much not to drop my z. i am also running 16x8 sportmax wheels with 0 offset with 245-45 tires front and rear.
  18. just my opinion, but i would get them for just the rear and get a nice spacer in the rear so they match the width of the flare and mold the flare into the body
  19. yea i hear you man, i thought the snow was over so that i could get my car on the road but the weather man said no
  20. a friend of mine got a '71 240z parts car so from that i got all new locks and keys for my ride. i also ran a new ignition wire. the stock one was cutting out now and then. now the car starts up everytime with less effort than any modern car i have ever driven. dynamat is going into the door panels to quiet the doors down a bit and i just purchased a new antenna that is white and slanted back. next step is getting some dealer plates so i can drive the car to a welder to have the frame fixed in the front and this baby will be road worthy!
  21. as for my key discussion, can i really pick any key i want? a newer style nissan key would be cool. or do i have to pick a correct generation? (1978)
  22. your horn doesn't go? mine works. i am supposed to have a new complete harness coming in but the ebay seller (2000 positive feedback for him) appears to be a dead beat
  23. so when you turn the key you get no radio, seat belt beeping, or starter motor? i am having the same problem and i am also curious to what is going on
  24. excellent so new plan. where is a good place to get blanks? my original plan was to buy a parts car that i found but i got no response from the owner. it appears the house is a vegitable with no one living there....just someone to stop by now and then. that would explain why the interior is cooked and the floor pans are lying on the driveway below the car. you haven't seen rust until you have seen this
