  1. I mounted mine up front where it was hidden and would stay cool, I used a smaller 1/2 gallon tank though with a low level light. The smaller tank was plenty for normal driving and at the dragstrip I would just fill it up every so often. You could not see the tank from the outside and the entire setup was pretty hidden. If you have a rediculous I/C this wont work though. http://gallery.voodoo-people.com/albums/album915/verticle_IC_005.jpg
  2. I run the Hella's and they are awesome they work great and are inexpensive. They through out tremendous light with the high beam and have a good pattern and cut off. The ebay plastic housing lights are junk and you can easily out drive them at night. I have bought several sets from rally lights and received excellent service. The only way I would run HID's is with a extremly high quality bi-xenon lights and even then I think youll be hard pressed to match a set of good Hella's. Ive yet to see any put out more light then mine. -Austin
  3. I picked up a 300zx tt transmission and am trying to make an adapter plate to mate it to my 1uzfe (4L Toyota v8).

I found the bolt pattern for the block on v-eight.com and have a rough idea of what the transmission bolt pattern is (drilling holes through the bell housing into a sheet of plywood) but am looking for more accurate info. Do you know of any accurate published diagrams on ...

  4. Hey let me know if you are still selling the ZG flare mounting kits. thanks.

  5. I had to join the club.... I really like the wheels, I am happy with the finish, quality, and fit. They aren't as vintage looking as my Wat's were but the sticky 245/275 Azenis RT-615's are worth it. I was disappointed about the center caps not fitting...and without them the car just doesnt look finished. I plan on making a set out of plastic or aluminum, with Z emblems. I dont know how long this will take me though...my current project rate is incredibly slow. There is more then enough room for 275's with standard ZG's. In fact next time I need tires Ill probably try to find a 295. I am also using Blox Extended aluminum lug's, which are decent for the money but not as nice as the KICS R26's I was running before.
  6. Just hang in there, he will get back with you. The slow/poor communication is aggravating but he has come throgh for everybody that I know. When he told me my wheels were shipping I received them promptly. -Austin
  7. Any of the Z32 transmission adapter plates left?? LMK

  8. Austin Do you have any more of these available? I am ready to send payment. Also would I need the shifter re-locater, if this is being installed on the S130? LMK Thanks

  9. Hey Guys, The club had a little dyno night last night and I was able to get a few baseline runs in with my vq240z before I start modifying things. My engine is pretty much bone stock so I was very pleased with the results, it is running right where a fresh stock vq should be Engine: 04 vq35de 03 OEM Electronics No A/C No PS 3" Exhaust Dyno: Mustang She put down 248hp and 235ft*lbs at the wheels. Also did a "1/4 mile" run on the dyno which was fun and put down a 12.7 take that with a grain of salt though,as there isnt much wheel slippage on the dyno. Ill try and scan in the dyno chart tonight.
  10. They are two completely different engines that are hard to compare. Bang for the buck the LS1 wins hands down. I love the way the vq drives and feels though, I think its all personal preference...you aren't going to make much NA power with the VQ. If boosted is your thing both motors can be built to make as much as the chassis can handle.
  11. Skip school. I missed my grandfathers funeral to stay at school for exams, wished I hadnt. There is nothing in school that cant be made up and in all honestly it just isn't that important compared to your family. My condolences
  12. Hi Jacob, Im sorry I didnt get back with you what email did you send to? I have been pretty busy and may have missed it. Anyhow, I have two adapter plates left if you are interested in one. Keep in mind the Mazworks includes bellhousing machining and I do not, you have to arrange that yourself. Shoot me an email to: austin.hoke@vq240z.com and Ill get back to ya ASAP. Thanks -Austin

  14. Tisk tisk. Ill have to shoot them an email...definitely don't have their flares on my car. On a side note my tires are here and my new wheels will be here this week
  15. Think twice, or three times, before you speak.
  16. I would think twice before I ran those on my car. The welding and especially the Toe link tabs look a little scary....hope they aren't chromo
  17. That is the best looking Z interior I have ever seen. How much would is cost to ship my car to Norway and get that done !!
  18. I think what would be best is a Wiki, we just need to find somebody with too much time on their hands to compile all the useful information into a page that you cant comment on.
  19. Theres not really a step by step as it hasnt been done much, but Ive tried to document my setup well. The swap is getting easier because you can have your ECU hacked to disable the security system and you can grab the Mckinney setup. Its a great motor, but its alot of work to get installed....you will enjoy it when its finished though.

  21. If you have non-sectioned struts its as simple as lining them up with the stock wheel arch. If you have sectioned struts you will want to raise them up at least an inch. JohnC cut his flush with the top of the inner fender. IMO if you raise them too high they will look terrible unless you car is really low.
  22. Here is the finished product on matt's car. It came out really nice. You really have to be super careful when cutting on a car with good paint, we took a lot of measures to keep sparks off the paint and to keep it from pealing back. Installing flares properly is alot of work and takes a good amount of time and tools, we put 12 hours into Matt's car this weekend. Thats why Ive always said flares arent for the faint of heart. The flares are pointless if you dont cut, and I personally think they look bad if you don't fill them up but that's just my 2 cents. Installing flares without cutting is like putting a fake hood scoop on your car . OEM's seem to think this is okay though.
