  1. Well the 5-1/4s are in a stock location for speakers in the 280Z. I used to have 4" coaxial units in there.. The tweeters actually just happen to fit perfectly a resessed hole there. I also have 2 tweeters up front at the start of the center console. I just went home and sound tested everything.. and WHOLY CRAP!! it sounds awesome!!! .. the cockpit in the Z is so small it just sounds really crisp clear and perfect amount of bass with my 8" sub.. I will take more pics when everything is buttoned up..
  2. Wow yeah that is very unprofessional indeed.. thanks for the info..
  3. yeah Prox, I will post more pics of the battery. I relocated it since I cut all the rust away when doing my engine bay.
  4. Well.. heh.. WHILE IM AT IT bug bites again!!.. While Im still waiting on saving money for a new turbo I decide to install all of my stereo stuff in the Z. Mids and highs are MB quart 5-1/4 mids 2"highs with a MBquart crossover. Sub is a Eclipse 8" I have a Alpine 400w mono amp for the sub, A kenwood 150w amp will push the mids and Highs. Up front I have 2 polk audio tweeters and thats it. The head unit is a older kenwood that I hope to replace soon. After the install is done you shouldnt be able to really see anything but it should sound really nice. Here are some progress pics so far. More to come...

  10. Well Folks, Thoes that want to put 350Z seats in a 280Z are going to run into problems on the drivers side. I have been at it most of the day. Not sure about the 240Z but the 280Z's tranny tunnel comes out a good bit blocking the rails when trying to install the seats. I scratched my head for a while and think I have found a way around it. I am going to space the seat up alittle using round tubing. I tried it out making the spacers kinda tall, 1.5" in the rear 1" in the front. This makes the seat fit but you sit up way too high this way. I am going to try cutting the rear spacers down to 1" and the front down to 1/2", With the adjustability of the drivers seat this should and I sure HOPE this works. I am taking pics and will update this thread when Im done.
  11. Joel, Im pretty sure you will be able to make the power you are after with a 35R or see if you can get a T3 flanged 37R. My next door neighbor made 600wheel HP with a GT35R in his 2.0 ltr S2000 @ 30psi of boost.
  12. I am running this setup. The fuel rail will hold the injectors in by sandwiching them between the manifold and the rail. Just make sure you use new Orings and silicone lubrication when putting everything together. That way you wont tear any O-rings.
  13. HAHAAHAHA I expect nothing less my friend!! Great that the IS is doing good.. When ya gonna get porkchop all done!.. My friend I hope you have another great year and keep yourself young!
  14. HAPPY BIRFDAY OLE MAN!!! I hope all is well for ya dude.. Hows the supa Tit JDM IS300 doin??
  15. Jeff, you can get the plugs from here http://www.magnecor.com/ I had them make a custom length so I could wrap them around infront of the valvecover. They work great!
  16. Yeah Great deal Brad, I was for sure looking at the .82 housing on the 3076
  17. Oh man this is the first bad thing I have heard about peak boost. I will keep that in mind Hugh. thanks for sharing man.. what turbo did you go with? whats the specs?
  18. Yeah Phil they are great. I have talked with them a few times and got some great advice Great people to talk with... 35R huh phil? man you going for some nice power dude!!
  19. Well, I am going back and forth between 2 turbos. One from Precision 59mm compressor wheel, 60 trim in a to4E compressor housing, Exhaust side is a 62mm wheel 76 trim in a .63 housing. It flows 60lbs permin.. The other turbo im looking at is a GT3076R. I really like this turbo from what I have read. It will spool fast and stay spooled during shifts. Has anyone on here ever ran a GT3076 turbo on a L motor? The precision turbo is about the same as the 60-1 hifi turboes. To me this is a rather large purchase and I just want to make sure I get the one that will last with me.. My goals are 380-400rwhp @ around 20 or so psi of boost. My Z isnt a drag Z but I like taking it to the strip sometimes as well as autocross and just fun twisty roads.. Soon we will have a road course here so I will be doing that as well. So what do you guys think? I have done tons of reasearch and learned a great deal about turboes now.. I have narrowed it down to these 2...... I think.. heh..
  20. I am Running Magnecor wires and have never had a problem with them.. I second that suggestion!
  21. Joel, If you want moderate spool up, I would look at the GT35 or GT37R turbo. I think you can get T4 housings in both of thoes. This will give you enough room for a great amount of power as well as great spool. That manifold looks great!!!
  22. OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH HE'S a JOLLY GOOD FEL...... OH NEVER MIND!! HAHAHAHA... Happy birthday you Youngun!!!
  23. I would say, just a small lip to angle the flange so everything would fit.
  24. Happy B day Joel!!! getting younger by the minute..
