  1. yeah all they would have to do is at the collector instead of welding a flange to it, weld a bend and then the flange to the bend.. that would give us plenty of clearence..
  2. Heh although when I was younger... I used to do some crazy stuffs!! beguinning is kinda boring though.. but well worth the watch..
  3. I had no problems at all. Like Evan said, just make sure you grind all the powder coating off and they weld fine.
  4. Yeah Jeff I actually used your photo's to help me out a bit!! heh.. the 280Z sliders are different then the 240Z sliders though.. mine mount different but the concept is the same. Now to get the drivers side done!!!
  5. what about just angleing the flange up some? this would give must more clearence for the compressor housing.. It seems to be pretty far away from the intake manifold you really could angle it up a good bit and not have any clearence issues.. Here is a pic of the current angle.. Now what about angleing the flange back some like this...
  6. I am 5"11 and it looks like I will be able to wear my helmet. Not sure if some of your 6"4 plus guys will be able to get by with these. I know Jeff and some others have installed them in there Z's but I think they were 240Z's Not sure if there is much of a difference there.
  7. Well man we have a safe basement here if you want to come ride out Ike...
  8. Well So far I only have the passenger side done. It was pretty straight forward. I cut the stock 350Z mounting tabs off the rails, cut off some other bracketry , Welded crossmembers on, took my stock seat rails off and apart, Mounted them in there stock location. Then I set the 350Z seat in place measured everything to make sure I had enough space for movement forward and backward. I tacked everything in place then took it all out and welded everything together. Then applied a couple of quick coats of black.Nex interior change will be a new black carpet kit! Heh I figured heck while the car is down I will go ahead and tackle this little project.

His questions are.. what kind of gearing would you need to run since you cant really rev more then 3500 rpms.. Also has anyone done this and turbocharged the diesel motor?
