  1. DING DING DING DING!.. Matt got it straight away.. heh.. It is a 87 with a 85 Front end.I am not sure why someone swapped them. I looked all through the underside of the front. I cannot find any evidence of a crash or repairs.
  2. Well, My wife and I got rid of our Toyota Tacoma and Lexus IS300. Our goal is to start paying things off and get out of some debt. Soo.. now our family ride is a Scion XB and this thing is great! I really dig it. It has a Factory Alpine touch screen radio with USB inlet in the center console. You can plug in any USB memory device with music on it and control it at the head unit. Also gets great gas mileage, handles quite decent and is Peppy. Has the 2.4 ltr 158hp- 160tq inline 4. Now my daily driver is a 1987 300ZX NA. My In-laws have had this car for 10 years and it has been parked for about 3. They just gave it to me.. How great is that?!!! The body is in awesome shape but needs all the tune up goodies and brakes bled. The AC works too!! This will keep my Z away from the daily driver status. ok.. on with the pics. Extra 1 zillion points if you guys figure out whats "different" about the Z31
  3. Rossman to the rescue. Rossman is sending me one.. Thanks dude!
  4. Yup Jeff that's the one. I got one from JT but it was for a 240 and about 1/2 shorter then the 280Z style.
  5. Anyone out there have a 280Z strut isolator bushing laying around? my passenger side strut bolt broke loose and I had to cut it off.
  6. I found the Kia seals in the JY and installed them. They do fit really well. Although I went to a touchless car wash and when the jets were shooting at my doors.. both sides at the top middle were leaking water. Granted these jets are shooting out at super sonic PSI lol.. but I wanted to know if anyone else had this issue with the Kia seals? Does anyone know where to find the small seal on the top of the door frame? Mine is not there and might be the cause of the leakage. I do have a spare set of the Kia seals if anyone is interested!
  7. Ok more updates. The wheels are wider then my old ones and when you turn right to opposite lock the right wheel was going into my wheel well I made. Soo I had to cut a triangle out of it and weld in new metal. I have it seam sealed and will paint it tonight. Also while my Z is down I took my tail light panels apart and painted them Satin black. I think they turned out pretty good! Before After Before After
  8. heh, nope it is a ebay seat that is going in my buddies integra. We put one in and still have to do the other. Ivan , awesome. I will hit you up.
  9. the 245-45R17s rub the front fender just a little. and from what I read the 255-40s might touch the sway bar and the tension rod? When I remade my battery box I made it come down to far and the 245s were all in it.. so I cut out a triangular section and welded in new metal.. It clears now but not sure if the 255s would clear.
  10. Hey guys, I got the Rota RBR's from the group buy recently and I am really impressed with them and thanks very much to Chris for all his hard work! I think we should have a thread about tire sizes and what people currently have and Data to go along with it. Pics are welcome as well! Here are the tire sizes I have been thinking about. It seems that the 255-40R17s are a little too wide up front and rub on some things. Other things we can discuss is: When running a smaller tire up front.. will that cause understeer? Thoes who already have these and logged some miles on them.. has that caused understeer? 275-40R17 = 10.8 wide and 25.66 Tall Rears 245-45R17 = 9.64 wide and 25.68 tall Front 245-40R17 = 9.64 wide and 24.71 tall Front ------ Not sure about what to run up front------ 255-40R17 = 10.03 wide and 25.03 tall Front I am a little on the fence with going to a 245-40 or a 245-45 for the front. It seems that the 255-40's are a little wider and seem to be a problem rubbing on things
  11. LOL.. Oops hehehe.. Sorry Drax.. I have old used tires on there right now they are.. out back 255-40R17s.. up front.. drivers side is a 235-45R17 and passenger is a 245-45R17. I hope to get tires next week. I will be going with 275-40R17s out back and 245-45R17s up front.. Tire heights are as follows.. 275-40R17 = 10.8 wide and 25.66 Tall Rears 245-45R17 = 9.64 wide and 25.68 tall Front 245-40R17 = 9.64 wide and 24.71 tall Front 255-40R17 = 10.03 wide and 25.03 tall Front I am a little on the fence with going to a 245-40 or a 245-45 for the front. It seems that the 255-40's are a little wider and seem to be a problem rubbing on things. jeff, Thanks man! yeah Austin is going to let me use his rivnut tool. I cant wait to get the flares on the Z!.. I painted my tail light panel last night and will put it back together tonight and snap some pics.
  12. yeah Joel, I will try my best. I am using Austins write up for when I do em. I will do my best to document and hope I do a good job.. heh.. not every day you just go hacking on the old Z lol.. kinda nervous about it..
  13. me<--------------10ft pole------------> Not touching Crazy he is getting rid of it though..
  14. 17x9 -13 up front and 17x9.5 -19 out back.
  15. I got them from J-taylor and Bob Rodgers over at F&D automotive here in Mobile AL.
  16. I jumped on the Rota RBR band wagon.. These wheels look SOOO good! I got the 17x9s -13 up front and 17x9.5 -19 out back in bronze. I have ordered the flares and will be cutting the fenders and installing them soon.
  17. It has been quite some time since I updated my build thread. Here is the hood I will be going with. I got it from a great friend Ivan. I have only seen this scoop 2 times.. once on Ivans car and once on quicker 240Z's car. The bondo was cracked in a couple of places so I am currently going to sand it down, rebondo it and repaint it.
