  1. Its just because it sat for 5 months. after a few miles the BOV was working as norm with the whip crack.. heh..
  2. well she is back on the road. I have have about 40 miles on her now.. I plan on putting about 100 or so and checking everything, turning the boost controller on and tuning wot.. Here is a short vid... big phil style.. heh..
  3. Well, I got them in.. WHAT A PAIN IN THE BUTT!! heh.. On the drivers side I had to unbolt the strut from the top and drop the a arm down.. Finally got it in.. Passenger side was alittle easier but not too much lol. I have a stock sway bar in the back with poly bushings.. it looks like it is going to be in the way..
  4. Thanks Dale!! LOL Flame suit on.. Sorry was just in a bit of a panic.. SOO CLOSE TO GETTING HER ON THE ROAD!! lol.. Ok,, just to confirm what I read.. Long axle goes with Long stub.. short axle goes with short stub.. and short completed CV goes on Drivers side.. Long completed CV goes on Passenger side.. whew.. I hope thats right lol...

  6. LOL yup, If I dont own a nissan its a toyota lol.. My wife drives a IS300, I drive a 08Tacoma and then I have my datsun!
  7. probably true yes.. but I did want it known that you do NOT have to have projector beams to have HID's work. with that said..I cannot wait to get projectors in my Z because the cheapo H4 housings I have scatter the light from my HID's I have installed.. hehe..
  8. Hey Hoov.. that statement isnt intirely acurate. My Lexus IS300 come with Factory installed HID's. There is no projector, Just a correctly shaped back reflector. It is Very bright and works perfectly.
  9. Ok, I got about 90% done with the CV boot replacement. Only problem now is.. a buddy of mine did the cutting on the pressed on peice to get the shafts off. He didnt take note of what stub went with what axle. One of the axles are longer then the other.. AND one stub shaft that goes into the diff is longer then the other.. option 1 Does the short stub shaft go with the short axle? or option 2 does the short stub shaft go with the long axle? with option 1 one CV shaft is about 1 inch longer then the other.. With Option 2 the longer one is only about 1/4 to 1/2 inch longer.. I really wish I was over there when he was cutting... One other question.. Does the short CV shaft go on the drivers side or the passenger side?
  10. Cool Jeff, I really hope you get her back together mang!! Joel you coming to DNI?? The color is one I picked out of a paint book.. I think its some sort of toyota bronze.. Not really too sure..
  11. well after about 5 months of down time she came to life tonight!! I hope to have her back on the road by friday.. still have to swap out for some CV action...
  12. I was talking with Joe over at Arizona turbo (where I got my new Garrett turbo) today about a oil restricter for my new turbo. He recommended me not restricting the oil to the T3/T4 turbo because if you restrict it too much you will burn up the bearings. He did state that in some cases it might need restricting but no less really then 100thou. or 3/32. He was asking about crank case ventilation and how my setup was. I told him I had the breather on the valve cover as well as the crank case breather. Both are going to atmosphere. He suggested hooking the crank case breather into the down pipe at a 45deg angle. This will put a vacuum on the crank case, and oil will flow out of the turbo much better and probably even pick up some HP. Same concept of running a PCV but you wont have oil mist going through your intake manifold, engine and exhaust side of the turbo. So what do you guys think? has anyone ever done this in the exhaust?
  13. Here are pics of my new current setup. I sold my 60 trim turbo as It was kinda laggy and we will just say precision and I do NOT see eye to eye as far as customer service is concerned. On to my new turbo. Full Garrett T3/T4 turbo. Compressor housing is a T04E, exhaust housing is a .63 AR. Compressor wheel is a .50 trim and exhaust wheel is a stage 3. I ported the exhaust housing to match the gasket and ceramic coated the exhaust housing and center section with Tech line. You will see a GT42R in the background as well. I coated my buddies exhaust housing, center section and Tial 44mm Gates. the new turbo the day I got it. Turbo blanket Flange compared to stock .63 AR housing. Ported housing. My tiny T3/t4 turbo next to the GT42R...
  14. Hey dale thanks for the Info. The gear puller you used.. was it a 3 prong one or a 2? I have 2- 2 prong pullers but just couldnt get them to seat with out touching the tripod bearings.
