frank280zx replied to a topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
Dude the intire firewall is diffrent i have RHD and the wireloom is diffrent the headlight wiper control is flipped to this would be easier normal since you will not trurn on the wiper when you want to turn i would go for a OEM RHD -
Dude if you can find that airdam!! let me know i'm intrested i love that car!!!!

I believe his car got totalled by two hits.. one in a parkinglot, and he got so sick of it he junked it... the only pic i could find was on beaterz before he finished the conversion BTW today i welded on the first rear fender flare!!!

Personally i do not really like the kaminari widebody kit, so basicly you are on your own and that means custum.. i know william bowman ( eurozx had R32 skyline lights in his, and that did not look to bad, i even thought about doing it.. but 250 dolloars for some lights ... No go for me+ to get that right whitout creating a bondo express would mean getting entire rear panal with lights. So what i did is shaved the rear bumber, and i'm in the proce4ss of welding on z31 fender flares ( 86,5 and up model) they give the more or less 350z look. Toghetre with the whale tail and a shaved front bumber ( dont exactly know how to jet... but vcheck out my site, there is a pic of teh flares in the photo section of this page Frank

Any black smoke? i used to have this on my moped 8) LOL Yeah when we get 16 in europe we get to toy '50' cc's mine was a 90 with HC head and insted of teh allowed 9 mm a 26 mmm carb Anyway back on topic When i gave it to much fuel to little air, or you could have a false airleak somewhere in the system ( manifold gasket vacuum etc ) -
i do have a l20e minus the e30 head you can have it for 150 euro's but that excludes shipping, i'm willing to help you sort it out when you are interested

Well 320Zeven, i will do so, however i first need to weld teh back on, and than i will amke a pic, with the OEM Z31 T sideskirt trail fitted... As for datsunlover, i hear you, i am a student so not rich , but i had this 300ZXT parter and loved the flares, not to badly overdone but there (need wheels to fill it out, why not the stock 16"of the 300, gives a nice brake upgrade too!) Since the whale tail is more or less a rip off of a 911 and they have wider flares i started fantasysing... then mesuring..... and the cutting one well of the z31, from there it is just welding and see what happends... ( the guts part, but i started as seen on a front fender, i had a couple to spare, so if i FU$%ed up, i just wasted a fender) Lucky for me it worked !! , and from the looks i wont need as much bondo.. it is a heap of work though... Thanks for all the reactions though frank

Welll i'm welding some flares on my zxt since i shaved the rear and will use a whale tail, the visual weight was to much centered at the rear portion for my likings. first all the bodywhise add ons sofar: the fender vents the widened flares smooth out just before, but this is a before pic the back, and the whale tail looks slick with the shaved bumbers but it adss some visual weight to the whole therfore the fender flares where introduced, also for the housing of the stock 16" 225 z31 rims and brakes here you can see the first fit after some more welding, it needs allot of attention, and more welding to finish and look slik but it will work out. Also i need to cut the inner fender (original fender) another view.. before the welding up in the first picture what do you think?

part number 34608?? i need the partnumber for L28 flat top piston rings normal size, where do i find these?
-
dood how do you see the stars with your honey!!! at least my s130 has an open cockpit to the sky hehe I think davy's way is teh way to go, as statet in my previous post

Actually welding in a section in my ook is not a good idea, the roof wil flex like an Amsterdam prostitute, I think welding on a new roof is a way, i dont see how this would be a bad idea aslong you take in acount the pre tension (when you cut of a roof you will se the car 'flex in') the roofs are welded on like this from the factory.( as long as you have the right tools and skills) But as you state the is no damage by rust or whatever in the roof pillars or structure. This is what i would do, you would not need to cut of the intire roof, since it is a skin, that lays ontop of the actual structure... by welding it on al corners it will not be prone to warp, and does not have to be bondoed in a flex area like a roof, but a solid area.. this way you will save yourself a massive pain in the #@$ trying to smoothen out something like a roof, the people that can do that are real artist! since the roof is not simply a flat surface but has a curve, man even thinking of filling up warps or diffrences in levls scares me. So i would reskin it let us know what you will deside just my 02 cents

yeah keep scrapping em my car will be worth more WHOOOOAAAAhhahahaah a good looking zx is harder to come by everyday however is teh undercarriage any good?

I'm with RPMS Pop riviting is actually creating a rust trap, there are two layers of metal overlaping, and there is bound to be moisture trapped between it.. The preparing sounds right, however i always cut out the rust to the point i know it is not infected anymore. Look at my site for that http://www.datsun280zx.tk or at least my approach Futher i would no go aftermarket on the radio, just a stock replacement, and agian a junkyard or ebay should hook you up for 20 to 50 also the headliner could be painted, interior to, and as for seats, agian junkyards, you do not neccecarly have to go with Datsun seats, alot of chairs will it or can be made fit fairly easely. check teh records for that most stuff i would get from yards verious interior pieces, maby some new carpeting, or get a piece at a carpet tore... this will look shabby if not done right though let us know btw nice rims

i can only say one thing... MEGASQUIRT It works like a charm, gets better milage, and gets rid of any restriction, if you can wire in a mass you are good enough to go megasquirt
