  2. Since you all asked to see the flares i shot two pics, and updated my website http://www.datsun280zx.tk with more pics (under restauration) but here they are note that they are not bolted on so kind of hang there .. not making them stick out as far as they should be i hope this gives a better clue of how it will look for you guys one more with the lights haha and the rear flare Agian guys tips and thoughts are welcomed they keep me going frank[/url]
  3. let someone weld it for you! the rest wont hold is my fear ( since the door gets slammed et cetra.... really welding is teh way to go here !
  4. haha well i guess this guy is into upgrades on all fronts
  5. i will post updates here, and when we start producing after the first prototype we will tell what they will cost and go from there
  6. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7919170828&category=33741 HAHAHAHa eeeuhm yeah turbos kill engines that is why the new cars dont come with an electronic turbo right haha
  7. I will go with the HKS that is my turbo is still a heap of parts but i have a Megasquirt setup to hook up, so i can vent in the atmosphere HKS claims 'HKS "The Sequential BOV is a pull type relief valve, unlike other BOV's which are push spring type & are prone to leaking. The SQV is actuated by pressure alterations only, ensuring quick valve response & complete closure during idle. Standard BOV's designs must utilize large valves in order to accommodate high boost/power application. However, these large valves react slowly & require high activation pressure to open. Smaller, fast reacting valves, do not permit the air flow required for high horsepower. The SQV incorporates both for maximum performance. It is engineered utilizing a small primary valve for ultra quick activation for light throttle venting along with a secondary valve for additional relief capacity in high RPM/boost situations. The SQV is made of billet aluminum & emits a unique, aggressive sound' Sounded good to me i read in on the bigger ones too, and well bottom line is they are overpized in my book, and react slower or not as good!
  8. It seems to be a problem not only due to aligment... note this car ( the manifold that Xander has was a trade in for a header from me8) na header that is ) leaned so badly the manifold was snow white inside ( wonder why the manifold got of the car here you have the answer) i think the meterial that spaces it just is tired after 20+ years of duty and needs litlle more than a touch to fall apart! so tony do you think i would have issues with warping? otherwhise i need to score another manifold ... still i'm happy with mine, we can work something out with the pick up shipping i guess (when xander decides to trade it tony)
  9. thanks for all the input it is aprieciated! I have the same issue with the 'naked' areas, but i plan on moving the exhaust upward on teh left, that way it will be non semetrical, i think that will solve some... on teh other hand looking at it longer makes it more likable alos i was thinking of ducts like tis[ _----_____----__] if you get what i mean sorry did not know how to make it clearer than this the flares are not uber wide just an 1,2 " orso wider than stock, but they run smoother
  10. Well sorry for the dark pic, but last night i got it al smoothend out! as you can see the lights and the gril are in, i think i will need to move the exhaust a little higher (note i will not be using the stock twin pipe but a single large Apexi N1 type Here an overall pic, it still looks a lil rough ( still woking on the rear wheelwell) But just to give you guys an idea of what im heading for Note the wheels and skirts are just positioned so i can see what im doing what do you think? ooh my camera seems to be slight of deforming it a little, but it is all straight the wheel wels are not jet smoothend but just welded and straightend with some glasfiber, they still need to be detailed... Just to give an idea! Frank
  11. we will be making them, we will start in two months orso ( he first needs to finish building his garage haha i will keep you updated!!
  12. You rock man really good story.. btw i love your ride! one day i will own one of those white stock ones ( on the outside )
  13. Thanks comming from you it is a real compliment, as i admire your work. You should see what it looks like now with the vents ( for teh diffcooler not brake duckting ) well you will i will update!!
  14. check my site under restauration for more pics By now the second is allmost in and the entire tailsections is detailed... I also added a diffcooler outlet... pics will follow all in all it is leaping forward and i realy like the look of it. These pics dont do them justice.. need to make one with the whale tail and flares visible ( in other words with the trunklid closed ) what do you think? check my site under restauration ( 3 pages down) http://www.datsun280zx.tk
  15. lemme try looks cooool keep us updated !!
  16. I agree and have only one answer... WELDER make sure to get A MIG MAG style, they are the easiest machine for this sort of stuff and easy to weld and learn with Frank
  17. Dude first off all welcome, and CONGRATS... hope you keep it stock!! (wrong site to state this ) There is a guy on car domain that IMHO wrecked it with bigger wheels taint and stuff. I guess when you want to get your hands on the vinyl TONYD might be the only one with a lead... Otherwhise you need to custom remake them at a grafic desing shop.. not cheap prolly ( 200 bucks orso) but worth it! In the last four years i have seen 3 ZXR tails pass Ebay, i was in on the bid on most of them but the prize was getting out of hand, so sadly i need to get a MSA 930 style..(AKA the BBQ deck). not OEM.. I start to like it more now since my project got extremer but... the moral of this story is... they are out there any pics of the ride? Frank
  18. Like on the BMW rims? my z31 Turbo wheels will be painted black chrome, it is a three layer process. ill look it up for you Frank
  19. DemonZ This is easy, Nissan did alot of more costly stuff to Euro cars. Basicly since we have much more straining driving conditions, and back in those days even holland had no speed limit So due to Higher sustaind speeds, Euro ZXT's come with diff coolers, diffrent diffs ( lsd's) gearbox coolers... Even the ZX's like the ZXT's come with standard bigger oilpumps, more effective Radiators ( up to 30%), and external oilcoolers on all models. All this is more costly! but nececary to keep it in one piece.. I guess the same goes for the Manifold, i guess due to higher tempretures the Normal ones like we know em would be more prown to crack The need to be biefier for the Euro market. So it is not the cost, but the demands and cost at the end ( i mean cracking manifolds would not be a good commercial for nissan)
  20. Really Tony Al Euro manifolds are like that (so OEM, or ordered by Nissan for teh euromarket.. wait a minute, would that not make em OEM?), for once i'm happy to have something not euro.. cause basicly when you take em off (or have some really bad luck), due to age and heating/schrinking over and over agian... THEY S#ck over the last days, i have heard of several people having trouble with them, even welding them solid, Since you guessed it they ar NLA through nissan in Holland. Well Xander we will go headers anyhow! so anyone wants to run some high $ on it is welcome I have heard of p90a with solids before on sites but mostly they where not sure if it was someones handywork or not, here it is absolutly not since it only ran 60K I even am informed buy a guy that has been a Nissan dealer for a long time (datsun dealer) that runs a 240ZT that Europe never saw the Hydrolics... that is something that makes me happy agian to have something non eurospec... Note though that th eEurospecs ran 200BHP to 185 in the US
  21. sorry tony it is factory, infact Xander Get your ass uploading the pics, you got your camera back
  22. You are an inspiration, i'm flaring my 280zx, and looking at your car i decided ill try coping your exhaust ( only on one side.. i will go with r32 lights a whale tail and i allready shaved the bumper) I need a vent in the rear to since i need to release the diffcoolers hot air... but great work... Though i would have done the lights in a diffrent fashion, but ooh well.. GOOD JOB MAN really cool!!
  23. http://hybridz.org/nuke/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=36138 the more people want them the price goes down... or does anyone wants to be a vendor for teh states ?
  24. Well i keep you updated this was just to feel the water temprature the will be stainless .. or at least decent qaulity.. they guy who has this shop builts stuff for offshore shipping and tractor pulling! we will update this when i know more we will start taking write ins so you can get your header
