  1. I volunteered to be a beta car for hoke but was to impatient to wait and with the CXR.... I like Hokes stuff from what I see....
  2. what don't you like about the mount? It works great in my application....solid and stout, easy to intall in my build.
  3. I've had quite a few contacts regarding what will work with the cxr LT's...... Obviously the cx motor mounts work... I believe the dirty dingo will work as well but there is no confirmed install of this that I'm aware of...... I don't think jci or hawks will work, just mu 02. Any trans mount should work with the cxr LT's but will require some extra cut and weld to fit right, like most of these swaps. I have been very happy with my outcome using all cxr stuff minus Y pipe back as I wanted to use my own muffler and the location of my fuel cell would have fouled against the cxr piping.

First winter (good to live in Cali) pre race for autoX is late January. Hope to have some video and 9/10th's impressions for you all then. Jim
  5. I got my diff back from its rebuild..... Wow what a difference. It's so quite and hooks up amazing out if turns. I notice a slight difference between the 3:70 and 3:90 gears but since I haven't had a season to track the car yet it should not take a lot to get use to.... Merry christmas
  6. My camaro donor shaft is aluminum..... My car is a designated street legal autoX and road racer..... Im not part of the 1/4 mile club so if hard launches are your bag you may be right...... But I seriously doubt I will ever have and issue with my set up, just my .02 cents
  7. Why not get a camaro shaft from a yard and have it cut down?????
  8. Ermish racing offer this.... just to add discussion. $850.00 for R200 specific. Does not address weak stub axles though.
  9. I had the camaro shaft cut down at a local drivline shop.
  10. That has been up for debate in the LS circles for quite some time..... in genreral, LT's breath better and perform better but it's not the simple. length, flow design, diameter all make a difference. I went with CXR since the package was pretty complete, however I did my own Y-back for better routing and muffler choice. I'm happy with my choice all in all.
  11. Getting a rebuild with my spare 3:90 ring and piñon with new bearing kit...... Should be bullet proof now. Hope to have her back on the road next weekend. My gauges arrived.... Biggest PIA is getting the old ones out.
  12. Ring and pinon are shot..... When the nut backed off it created havoc and trashed them both, kinda finicky... Having it rebuilt, updates to follow.
  13. Therse are not normal noises ... a rebuild is in order.
  14. Well bad news.... Reinstalled the differential and it continues to howl and clunk around. I'm a little bummed, however I pulled the unit again and I'm taking it down to a local differential/gearing shop to have the unit rebuilt so it will be bulletproof from this point forward. If it's not salvageable, I do have an extra open R200 differential that I will consider welding and running for the time being...... any thoughts on running a welded differential from the LS crowd would be welcome. Thanks, Jim
  15. One of the guys in my race club..... picked it up for $400 I got lucky. If I kill it, I'm not sure what I will do next.
  16. I pulled my diff for inspection and service...... I noticed the length and bearing surface of the R200 CLSD stubs axles are different.... When I measure with a tape into the housing to the outer seal the R side is bit deeper than the L, but I find that curious since the L side of the diff is clearly wider from center. Anyone know if these are R and L specific? Thanks, Jim (1972 LS1 T-56 240Z)
  17. Update: The LS torque loosed the input drive flange on my LSD R200 and she can began to howl horribly under deceleration.... Pulled the diff and all is well, torqued the nut to spec and should have it back in soon......
  18. did some more math...... I'm into this for 11K.... I knew I had forgotten stuff lol
  19. By the way, the fuel pump died..... I had a little to much upstream bend in my line and she burned up. New pump and new route, problem solved.
  20. Ball park I'm into the car (all in) for about 9K-10k right now after bardering and selling off 240 and camaro parts..... I say 9K off the top of my head but I'm sure I'm forgettting numerous trips to the parts and hardware store for fabrication and do-dads stuff that just adds up....... so 10K at the very top end. I have zero regrets to date and I could spend up to 20K and still feel like this is one of the best toy decisions I've made in a very long time. Jim
  21. My LS1 pan sits pretty level with X-member..... exhaust is my lowest point on the car.
  22. Not sure about the 280??? I've never had one. All my experience has been with the 240 (I'm on my 5th one, with one early 260 thrown in for giggles)..... My fuel pump quit! All that noise was it giving up it's last. Not typical for a Walbro I'm told.... anyway Speedway motors was AWESOME and are sending me a new one ASAP and paying shipping to boot. Great customer service!.
