I had a similiar problem couple weeks ago. Actually pretty stupid lol, I ended up regrounding my battery to the block and tightening up the cables real solid after cleaning the terminals and it was all good. Then I ended up spinning a bearing which was prob cause of the overheat problems I was having...dope

Yea I will take another look but it seems all ok without it. Hell I will be underneath there for a couple hours tommorow replacing my main and bearings in my chev 350 haha. Not even prob 15 miles on the swap and I get a knock Guess I should have left that rad rod I met up with alone haha Atleast one took a hit now through testing and not on a daily drive.

I was trying to drive my car over to get some tuning done and it started leaking fuel. Not out of the fuel line though. There is a copper tubing along transmission tunnel that is just hanging there open and not capped at all. What is this from. Is it that exhaust fume system or what. It just started leaking pretty bad out of that tubing and it hasnt before? Please help and let me know if I can just cap it or what. I did the v8 swap and dont know what this ever went to as I never touched that part before

Cage would work IMO. My buddy has the lap section of his harness going to his seat bracket which I don't know is good or not but it definately feels solid. worst come to worst I would just drill a hole in the floor with some high grade bolts. I'm just a diy though and no professional so I am just throwing out ideas haha

just buy one of those cheap harbor freight guns and go crazy with it. Messy but works

Well I have been working a lot and went on vacation but the car is painted. Starting to re assemble it all and fix some minor issues. Should be done by the end of the week. Looks sweet but needs a couple touch ups and to get 5th gear fixed. Nothin serious though, getting anxious haha

Selling my 1977 280z, what should I do?

I say give it a good wash and get the motor running. Dont worry about the interior or stuff like that. People tend to see interior as an easy fix so dont worry about it when buying a Z so I wouldn't waste time or money doing it. If you really want to put carpet in just go to a local automotive store and buy a roll of generic carpet for $15 bucks and cut it to fit. You probably are not going to get the original investment back into it but putting more money into it on interior and whatnot will start to decrease your reimbursement. Or just keep it man. I'm 17 and all my friends love my Z even with it still being under construction. I have spent two years restoring mine and I work, trick is to bum rides haha. -
Bad news first, Lost my lil buddie named Beau "Yellow lab" I showed earlier the other day. R.I.P Anyways, the car is a completely different story. My Z was sent over to a guy I was recommended to and he has been awesome dealing with so far and suppose to be done by tomorrow. But he even went all the way to take it down to bare metal for me cause the old paint was coming off in chunks. Painting it a white he let me pick out and when I get it back I got a list of little things I need to knock out. That includes bumpers, maybe putting on a different wheel spacer on FR as I think its causing a slight wobble, and list goes on. Hopefully I can get it all done in a day or two because friday is my last day of high school ever and I would love it hit that date.

First Drive went not bad at all. Brakes need to be bled better for sure and it did not want to start after stalled going into reverse. Quite a bit of exhaust fumes in cabin to but I guess thats a common almost unbeatable problem. Not to bad though in general. This beast has some nice torque at only half throttle haha. Stereo sound stopped working but I beleieve its going into safe mode with a shorted speaker wire. Not going to worry right now as my body and paint guy will be getting my lady in about 2 or 3 days.

My thought on buying slavage vehicles from places like that and copart is pretty simple. Someone would have picked it up earlier to make some coin, whether that be original owner, insurance agency, or repair shops that normally do the inspection after an accident. It is a lot of work to maybe save 1 or 2 thousand dollars and at what costs. Lets face it, it is now a less safe vehicle and resale value is in the pooper. Now if you have the opportunity to buy a vehicle off of someone before it hits a place like this on a deal than I would say go for it. But if it were me I wouldn't unless the vehicle was going to be used for parts.

They sell the clips at Lowes for a couple bucks in the misc bins.. Just an FYI

Time for another update. Finally nearing the end. Have a couple interior things to do later on but for now it is done. Matched the corbeau's with a 4pt set of nrg camlocks. Chopped up the 95 corbeau mustang rails it came with to get the seats in. No rub now but no one taller than about 6' 1'' can drive but passenger side has a bit more room. I'm 5' 11'' though so me likey.haha. Also cut and installed universal carpet from Pep Boys and it came out awesome. Full Pioneer system installed with 4x6 in the back and 4in speakers in the doors. Also picked up a new passenger door and got that aligned much better than the other door. Here are some pictures to get a little taste of my vision coming to reality.

I actually bought a used pair of corbeau trs leather

I would definately fix the rust. Not that you could not drive the car but it will get worse pretty quick and then become a much worse problem. The area you have rust at is a fairly easy fix if you are willing to spend a couple hours doing a little bit of fabricating. As far as the price though it is well worth it. Especially the fact it is running. The 80,000 miles would be a bit questionable though. -
3 weeks and Still No Turn Signals
240zBoy replied to 240zBoy's topic in S30 Series - 240z, 260z, 280z
Last night I went crazy with the ammeter and after a couple hours and about to quit I noticed an issue with front turn signals. When I unhooked them my running lights and turn signal problems went away. Well after some tracing the P.O spliced into a different wire which I had hanging loose for a ground. Grounded it and walla!!!. -
Check all your grounds and connectors for corrosion. Thats been most of my problems. And just loose wires I forgot to connect haha.

I had a bad one to but I found a complete door for $80 that was a little rusty. Internals were good though. Just an idea.

Car Won't Go Into Gear When Running

Gravity bleeding did not get all the air out of the camaro slave for me so I pumped it like 6 or 7 times then had someone loosen it with my foot still on the pedal...ect Wish that slave could just have a normal bleeder screw lol -
Got the headlights to work... Now my markers still both blink with either right or left signal engaged. And the turn signals in the back do not work with either headlights engaged. I think a ground is messing up somewhere
