I found this on KITCARCLUB.com and thought it was kool Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the garage Not a builder was stirring, not even for the cause; The stockings were all hung by the chimney with care, In hopes that ‘ol Santa would soon would be there. With TV blaring, kids were nestled in their beds, And visions of iPods dancing in their heads; Mama was in her flannels, and I in my Rockies cap, Had just settled down for a brief winter’s nap— When out on the driveway there arose such a clatter, I sprang from my snoring to see what was the matter. Away to the window I flew like a snail, Tore open the shutters and broke a fingernail. The moon, lighting up the new-fallen snow, Gave an eerie glimpse of objects below; When, what to my sleepy eyes should appear But a miniature Cobra, powered by some serious gear. With a little ‘ol driver, so lively and quick, I knew in a moment it must be St. Nick. More rapid than dragsters his horsepower it came, And he hooted and hollered and called them by name: “Now, Cobra, now, Speedster! Now, Lambo and Seven! On, Countach! On, Blazer! On, Devin and Diva! To the top of the deck! To the top of the fence! Now, blast away, blast away, blast away, all!†As dry leaves that before hurricanes fly, When they meet with an obstacle, drag to the sky, So, up to the garage-top the horsepower it flew, With a Cobra full of toys—and Santa Claus, too. And then in a moment, I heard on the roof The revving and exhaust note that’ll cause you to hoot. As I pulled in my head, and was turnin’ around Down the chimney Santa came with a bound. He had traded his fur for a red driving suit, Which by now was all covered with ashes and soot. He had changed from my youth and looked fit as could be, And his once flowing white beard was now trimmed in a goatee. He had succumbed to the health forces and no longer smoked, But the goodies in his backpack were still familiar to this bloke. His eyes still twinkled! His dimples how merry! His cheeks were chapped and his nose was like a cherry. He now had a trim face and no longer a belly, But when he laughed, he made us all feel merry. He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work, And filled all the stockings, then turned with a jerk, And laying his finger aside of his nose, He gave a nod and up the chimney he rose. He hopped in his Cobra, to his starter gave a whistle, And away he flew like a bullet out of a pistol. But I heard him exclaim as he drove out of sight, “Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good night!†With apologies to the writer of the original verse parodied above, QueenBee and I would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas, Feliz Navidad, Happy Hanukah, Happy Festivus, Happy Holidays, etc. and hope that you get what you asked for!

You can TIG weld stainless and carbon steel with any DC welding machine using straight polarity. Carbon does not need to be purged on the back side. I have seen a TIG pulse arc machine weld an aluminum Budweiser beer can back together, talk about low heat input. Aluminum is where you need the square wave Tig machine. I worked as a certified pipe welder for years, never used a MIG welder in the field. I have a MIG welder with gas shield in my garage now and it will work on most any project that I have. I would like to have a DC machine for Stick and Tig welding, but really do not have any project coming up that it is needed.

Here is a Trans Am 3 Piece that I did, The center section is easy to mount, the ends are a real problem due to the plastic they are made of will not stick to body filler real easy. I used both steel and fiberglass to mold in where it goes down the side pannel.

There are several levels of Engineering Degrees. Mine is Mechanical Engineering Technology and since I passed my Professional Engineering Exam no one cares. I didn’t have to take Calc 3 or differential equations. I work in the petro chemical industry and have not used Calculus since I got out of college. You are not your brothers, you are you! Your parents need to understand that. My brother has a MBA and until a few years ago couldn’t change a spark plug to save his life. He fixed the clutch cable on his 356 Porsche and thought he had won the lottery. I was fixing his cars while in grade school. Just had a natural feel for mechanical things. I am a parent and have always tried to only give advice to my adult son when he asks for it. It is hard for some parents to understand that there kids are adults.

Hey Bs and Cs in college is nothing to be ashamed of! There are people who would die for grades like that. After your first job no one will ever ask what your GPA was. Do you want to run the garage or work for flat rate fixing cars. There is nothing wrong with being a mechanic either, it is a good profession. If you finish your education you still can look at being a mechanic, but it will be hard to return to school after you are working. I went back to college after 20 years due to a back injury in the construction trades, and believe me it was no fun. Do I miss working in the trades you bet but then again it is nice to be out of the weather. If I were you I would finish my education then look at my options. You might want to explore other majors too. Just beware of the “Should-a Would-a Could-aâ€

Wheelman The place is in Garrison MT about 70 miles south of Missoula. My commute is around 2K miles each way. I work in Prudhoe Bay AK so can live anywhere I want to.
-
Got the place for $260K. It has a 4,400 SQ FT 4 Br 3 Bath house and a furnished one bedroom apartment above one of the garages.
-
Well it looks like I sold my Arizona home and bought this place in Montana, It has 8 garage doors an has the room for 12 cars inside of them. Now for the hard decission with only 3 cars now what to put in the other 9 spaces?

Welcome to the Dark Side of Forced Induction. Are you going to go Fuel Inj or Carb? The Eaton M62 supercharger that I have takes special oil for the gears. There are a few people that either have one running or in the process of building a supercharged Z, but we are definetly in the minority!

HB280ZT Get rid of the turbo and install a roots supercharger. Nice flat torque curve. You will not put out the top end power though it is give and take!

Here is some more info i got online So how does a lower static compression benefit a forced induction engine? Let's look at an example. Compare these two situations: 1) On a stock 5.0 with ~9:1 static compression it is found that a non intercooled supercharger can run a maximum of 9psi of boost without detonation. The effective compression is ~14.5:1 and 320 peak rwhp is produced. 2) Same engine/supercharger combination but with low compression 8:1 pistons installed. It is found that a maximum of 13 psi can be run without detonation. Effective compression is again ~14.5:1 but significantly more air is allowed to enter the combustion chamber. Peak rwhp is now 380. In both cases the same octane fuel is used. Here is the entire article, it is a good read http://www.tazzo.com/turbo/technical.html

I don't know if this is what you are looking for. This is for 280-260. I took a cheap set of rectangle shaped driving lights. Took the bulb out and cut a hole in the back side and got some turn signal bulb sockets from Checker Auto Parts and glued them in. They are not mounted yet. I did check them out with the amber bulbs on the battery and looked like what I wanted. I do not have any Picts of them.

Check Out this http://chevyhiperformance.com/techarticles/0411ch_huffin/ It is not on edelbrock but gives the basics

I saw somewhere that the 280ZX distributors have both vacuum and mechanical centripetal advances. If anyone has any info on this I would appreciate any input. I am looking at using one on my L28 supercharger project.

Here is an "OLD WAY". My dad did this back in the late 40s on his V8 60 flat head Midget race car. He set up a jig with each end of the crank setting on a razor blade. Installed the rods, pistons and rings and balanced the assembly. He would turn the crank a couple of degrees and see if it stayed in that position. If it moved he would figure out grind where needed. From his stories it was time consuming doing the grinding with a bench grinder and all. But it was how all of the other racers did it.

I will try to add some pictures as the project progresses. I am now building the intake pletium to mount on the carbs. It is a piece of 4x4" Aluminum tube stock. Here is a picture of a trubo tripple set up. I will be abe to add some more picts of other set ups that I found when I get to my other computer in a couple of weeks.
-
I have found several Tripple Weber and SK racing set ups using blow through turbos. Search this web site and the internet and you should find the info you need. I am in the procees of putting together a supercharged blow through tripple sk racing carb set up.

Chevy has used cowl induction on the old Z28 camaros. I did a calcuation on approximate pressure gain at 100 mph for a friends Z28 drag car. If I remember right it was around 2 psi. One option is to cut a hole vent wheel well. Toyota truck and 4-runners us a small electic fan for ther AC condencer. This way you can turn it on and off when needed.
-
Mercedes supercharges have the clutch alreay installed for you. I have a Eaton M-62 supercharger from a SLK230 on my bench right now. My original plan was to use the supercharger wet with a carb. I scored a set of Tripple SK racing Carbs and now will use it dry. Still working on the detials.
-
Saved this picture off of the internet when I was thinking V8. It is the cleanest that I have seen. This is similar to the 67 0r 68 Camaro Z-28 cowl induction and was also used on there road race cars.

Why mess with all of that stuff. I am planning on using DWV Copper pipe fittings on my intercooler. I can be soldered together with 95/5 of 50/50. It comes in 2" and 3" with long radius elbows. You can go to Lowes or Home Depot and buy all you need. It can be chrome plated or just polish out.

To simplify your concept, look at using motorcycle water cooled cylinders, ie 450 Honda Motor Crosser, and machine your lower end out of billet aluminum. You could copy there head design. For me I will use what someone else has designed and modify to suit.
