  1. I want to report , that I just read on another site that someone posted that they put these same camber plates on stock struts and purches all he did was use a 3" hole saw to open an adjustment hole on the engine compartment strut tower for access to the adjusting screws , he claims work well with no problems... I'll post my experience when I do it soon...
  2. Im not 100% sure, but I believe I read somewhere that with the large stock perches they will touch the sides and not allow much adjustment just like you mentioned....I want to be 100% sure before I start taking apart ....I don't want surprises...lol
  3. I don't know, but I do know that with my new tires I installed about a year ago (mind you, I don't drive the z much, it's usually my toy only) my front tires have worn quite a bit on the insides (meaning I have negative camber)...need this fixed...
  4. I just bought them, however , have not installed them yet....will post once installed.
  5. This is the same radiator I have with the same dual 12" fans. Except I had a custom shroud made and have the fans exactly side by side...good choice with this set up...
  6. I have a 83 turbo zx, I have the suspension techs lowering springs, Now , Im getting ready to install some adjustable camber plates on the top of the towers and wanted to know if with my stock struts and (perches) will I have enough clearance to adjust my camber? or am I forced to go with coil overs?....I really don't want to go with coil overs if I don't have too. thanks, Rob
  7. I just changed mine , I found a brand new one aftermarket on ebay, very good replica and does the job... why are people having so much trouble finding one?
  8. I did my floor pan on one side last year and welded it in and then por 15 the whole interior of my zx while it was gutted, I had very good results with the por 15 . one note though, If you get it on youre hands you better clean it off right away with acetone. If not you will be sorry, because that stuff will get into youre finger prints and stuff and it will be many days before you will be able to get it all off.
  9. I Ended up making a replica out of fiberglass from a buddies zx. He left it at my home for a couple of hours and used mold release wax and put multi layers of thick matt and resin, and within half hour I had me my new exact spare tire well to drop in my zx. installed it after trimming ,with body shop two part seam sealer. Looks like nothing was ever done. Happy camper here. Would recommend, and will never ever Rust.
  10. I want to guess have you checked for relays?
  11. Ok, Im Looking to see if someone makes a reproduction of the zx spare tire well ? I just sent an email to Charlie from "Zeddfindings" in Canada. any help would be appreciated. If not, I was thinking of finding someone with a zx will a good well and making a fiberglass mold out of it, and using that. Rob
  12. Well, I have had to socum to the fact that these 30 yr old digital radios are just beyond their useful time. I have bought at least 4 digital original radios and they all have some gremlins or another. The one I have now , turns on when it wants too , It doesn't work most of the time and when it does, it really does not sound good at all.So , I bought a nacamichi single din radio along with a small eq that I will install right next to the radio to fill in all the space along with 6.5 inch nacamichi component speakers and matching amps...should sound good when installed...
  13. So, I totally went analog with mine. Managed to find a working 79 zx analog clock, Now all my gauges are analog. I don't like the analog and digital combo, being from 80 to 83 they went with digital clocks...
  14. I would totally agree with tecreatta. and being a 2+2 does not help. Most people prefer the coupe all day, me included , good luck.
  15. very very nice and clean......keep it up !!
  16. you mean the electrical line?....if so no
  17. Hi all, My boost gauge was working perfect the the whole year I was restoring the car...then all of the sudden it's no longer working.. this is what I have done so far.... I changed cluster ( still no go) checked the posi and neg wire behind glove box . ( No Go) turned little gatget in posi wire moved some what but a (no go). changed sender inside engine comp (no Go) ....what else?????
  18. Other than powder coating valve cover , J pipe and a few other things , I have not modified the engine yet..that will happen this year hopefully.... thanks for the props guys....Rob
  19. I purchased my kit for my zx from an ebay seller last year, I don't remember their screen name but I do know they were out of California. I was very picky choosing my kit because I wanted the edges of especially the back area to have the sewn binding like the original oem. and this comp offered that...the only thing I was not happy with was that not the whole kit had jute padding attached to it...only the rear section, I had to buy additional jute padding to make me happy...other than that I was happy with the kit!! Rob
  20. I got the Blue silicon ones for upper and bottom off of Ebay. cheap too...I highly recommend them....Rob
  21. Thanks for all the input , I have removed my dash about 3 times, and it's not something I love. As a matter of fact I have still a new speaker for the front center and Im really thinking about it because of the dash removal... I think the worst part is reconnecting the speedo...that is really a pain!! Now I don't know If I want to open a Pandoras box...lol
  22. Have you youre self done it? is it only the sliding control s? or the whole inside unit??/
  23. I tried looking in the forums about this topic in various ways but nothing came up... here Goes, I am curious to know for those with ZX's has anyone been able to convert from the automatic climate control to the manual ? I'd like to get rid of my automatic controls and install the simple control with the turning knob for the fan... Not a fan of the auto control plus mine is working funky anyways, time to simplify it...any help is appreciated guys...thanks..Rob
  24. Miles , you did a very nice and clean interior...I really like it !!
