Recaros for me......

I did a digital to analog recently on my 83 turbo with a 130 speedo from an 80 280zx and changed under dash harness from an analog zx and everything works perfect....

Im running rota's 17 X7.5 in the fronts and 17x8.5 in the rears and have the eibach springs, tokico shocks and don't rub at all...and looks awesome... I also did A lot of research reeding beforing buying anything..did not want to roll fenders or have to deal with spacers or worse rubbing....

I changed the pinion gear that goes on the side of the tranny where youre cable goes in and changed the gear to the white Nissan one which is 19 tooth. and now im only off by about 3-4 mph.. compared to like 15-20 before....this was done on a 83 turbo.. because I went from digital to analoge..

I guess im in the minority..that is the only tail I like for the Zx...........

I used por 15 and was very happy with the outcome...

I used the por 15 but only after I was done welding...because I thought of the same thing that it would burn...so I did it afterwards...por 15 is the best though..

I personally love them....I had them on my other 280z's I had years back. they make what they called the "baby toronados" and the big tornados, I had both at some point in time years back . the ticket is to color match the mirrow to the car...and just leave the black 1.5 inch around it in black...trust me they look sharp.. and one other thing they come with a blue "tint" on the mirrow itself....they where very ahead of their time back in the early 80's when I had them....

I just finished restoring my 83 turbo zx ...and I did a lot of research and I went with "por 15" that stuff is awesome at stopping rust and it's expensive too..I would highly recommend it...I paid around 155.00 a gallon... I did the inside as well as the the whole under carriage...

Sure enough , those are early 80's and I even dare to say, that they might have come on some 1980 mustang svt editions....

I would like to share my experience with something similar I went thru recently on my 83.....I even changed alternator and still no charging and I have hid but with a full harness with relay and feeding straight from the battery....the no charging problem was found by a buddy of mine when no one else could figure it out.. on the same side where the battery is on the zx (passenger side) theres a black relay box right in front of the strut tower and theres a relay that protects the charging system...change it and it should take care of youre problem...

Kaminari kits were very expensive back in it's day, about 1983...I know because I had a 78 280z and bought the front air dam and rear tail, which I had moulded in and came out super!! just for thought, the front airdam back then I paid 250.00 and that was a wholesale price. same for the tail. I believe if Im not mistaken that the whole kit with the wide body panels and front and back spoilers ran about 3k. not installed...that was a whole other issue...these kits no longer are made...hope this info helps...Rob
