  1. These were $265 U.S. plus shipping.
  2. Found a set off the same guy I initially was trying to buy through. They finally showed up today, these are the real deal JDM S30 mirrors. I got them off of eBay user "gira7777" he was very helpful, honest and quick. Everything was as he said it would be and they were packaged properly, he sent me pictures of the exact mirrors. I honestly suggest using this guy if you are looking for hard to find JDM stuff. It's hard to find honest sellers online so I thought i'd just offer a recommendation for any of you looking for stuff. This was the last set he had in his shop, they're hard to come by but he does buy a lot of old JDM stuff. He was always very quick to reply via e-mail the same day and got me a tracking number etc. No issues at all.
  3. Nice score! My dad picked up a 370Z a couple years ago when they first came to Canada. He got one of the first black ones to come into Canada. It has been a great car and it is awesome to drive. You have to get it on the track to really experience what the car is capable of, it's a totally different animal with the VDC and traction control turned off.
  4. Haha, I had a date with my girlfriend so I couldn't stay home and last minute bid. I thought for sure i'd set my "highest bid" high enough but of course I got beat by $5 at the auction close.
  5. I'm sick of snipers on e-bay so i'll try my luck on the forum. Looking for a set of Black Datsun fender mirrors as pictured below:
  6. I have a G-nose as well and I can't see them looking any good to be honest. Styling is entirely subjective though.
  7. My plan is to have the dash covered in alcantara (a type of suede). A cap is probably the simplest and cheapest way to do it or the spray foam idea would likely work well.
  8. Looks good. I have one similar to this that's glassed into the body.
  9. What brand are your black ones? I've been hunting around for a set like those.
  10. Very true to both those. Mine is only if you fill it up to the neck but yeah, that made me chuckle. How about "You know you own a Datsun Z when someone asks you enthusiastically "Is that Ferrari?" and you sit there with a gaped open mouth, think about it for a second and them smugly answer "uhh yeah!" With this look:

    racing pedals

I have the MOMO set from Motorsport on my Datsun. They are a bit of a pain to line up on the accelerator pedal due to the hollow back-side but once they're on and the brake and clutch are trimmed they do fit nice and work well. It was a big improvement for me because I have wide size 13 feet and had trouble working the pedals because they were too close together. The MOMO pedal covers are skinnier than the stock metal pedals so you can trim them slightly which allows some room.
  12. I was goofing around on the skid pad at a track day a couple years ago:
  13. Still having intermittent issues with this. I thought it was the power looping through my new alternator (I thought maybe it was cooking the diode i'd wired in-line for the feed). However when I turn off the key and the car stays running the only way to kill the engine is to pull the coil wire. If I pull the connection at the back of the alternator it doesn't shut the car off so i've ruled out the diode being the problem. What am I missing? Is there something with the key switch or a relay that would keep things powered up and allow the car to continue getting power through the coil? Also, once the car is shut off often times the battery will continue to feed power (fuel pump and radio will stay on). I've tested the key switch for the ignition and everything seems fine with it. I'm lost as to what it could be?
  14. I had a hell of a time getting my spindles out too and re-installing the arms with the new bushings. But they DID fit without shaving them down. Some persuasion with a bar and some lubricant. Good luck.
  15. Actually I haven't touched it since. I put it away in my garage for winter up here and just haven't had time to bother with it. I will power it up and start tracing wires and un-plugging/voltmeter to see where the issue is. Don't be afraid to shoot a private message or reply to the thread, i'm still around the forum every now and then just not as much as I used to be. I want to get a bunch of stuff done on the Z before spring, but this new house/christmas and a million other things have occupied my time.
  16. Lol @ the Christine comment. Yeah, I removed it and wired the jumpers up correctly, that all works great. I can't figure out how the car is getting power and remaining running if I un-plug that "T" connection??? I thought that is how the car would stay running if you didn't install a diode is through that wiring?
  17. ^ Any luck with your car Jacob? I am not out of the woods on this one yet. The new alternator is working great. However, went for a long drive yesterday and when I stopped along the drive for a break and the car shut off but the radio stayed on and the fuel pump kept running. Odd. Only way to turn them off was to disconnect the battery or the relays under the passenger side dash in the footwell. Later I stopped for dinner and shut the car off and the same thing, pump and radio stayed on. So I disconnected the "T" connector on the back of the alternator. This killed the power to the radio/pump and I figured "ok, the diode I installed is no longer any good i'll have to replace it to stop the power from looping". So I drove another 2 hours to get home. Got there, pull in the driveway and the car wouldn't shut off with the key. Fine, i'll just disconnect the problematic "T" connection with the in-line diode and replace it this week. After un-plugging it the car kept running. I was very confused by this. So I grabbed a glove, and pulled the coil wire to kill the engine. The pump and radio kept running until I disconnected the battery. I am officially stumped as to how the car can keep running and what's keeping the accessories powered? Looks like i've got a lot of wiring to follow ahead of me... Any suggestions? The car ran fine after I did the alternator swap but i'm thinking that's just a fluke.
  18. ^ I've got an early 74 260Z so it has the factory electric pump as a secondary (which actually just started working again recently.) I don't see a benefit either way to having it or not having it. Once the fuel line is pressurized that's a constant. So an electric pump set to the right PSI should be more than adequate IMO but there may be other parameters here that i'm not considering?
  19. I plan on adding a Holley electric pump and a regultor. I want to clean up the engine bay and really don't see the use of having the mechanical pump.
  20. Hmmm... So you mean to say if I choose to modify a vehicle i'll never see a penny of it back? /sarcasm I think you are doing pretty good if you get the 17k for it. Considering most people won't place value on mods unless it's EXACTLY how they'd want it, hard to come by. And to put that money in perspective I spent the value of your car drinking and carrying on from the age of 19 to 23. If you keep track of anything it's expensive: Say you spend $100 a week on beer, drinking, eating at pubs etc. (**** you really don't NEED). Multiply that by 52 weeks: $5200 Multiply that by five years: $26000 Twenty-six thousand dollars went through the average young man in wasted booze and food. And that's using conservative numbers. And what do you have to show for it? Maybe a couple misdemeanors and some foggy memories, possibly herpes. So suddenly that LS swapped classic Z that puts a smile on your face doesn't sound so bad does it?
  21. I wanna see this engine and the detailed specs! Sounds impressive. Congrats on the record guys!
  22. Spent some time fiddling under the dash last night, checked every connection for the radio/heater and got it working. Totally un-related issue to the wiring of the alternator. The alternator swap with the diode worked great on the 74 260Z (however, with a couple of owners and 35 years of history who knows if my wiring matches a factory 260Z entirely). More amperage, brighter lights, my electric fuel pump started working again as well. Thanks for the input on this guys, back on the road. If anyone ever has questions doing this feel free to PM. I'm not on the forum all that much but I am around.
  23. Did you manage to resolve this ever? We're coming up on the cold season here in Canukistan and it will be pretty important to get the fog off the windshield and keep the girly's toes warm.
