  1. Aux, some of the stuff you post is just plain scarry, makes me wonder.... You don't know anyone named Aisha do you?
  2. I really just wanted to be trendy, I am hoping to have my car rolling and running by this spring, although it will not be totally complete, I will be able to drive it. I want a shirt but I am afraid that I will be called a posure if i am driving my z with a JSR tshirt on...
  3. Let me know when they are good to go, I will take 1 large
  4. All the project cars that are currenly not running and on Jack Stands, are all members of JackStand racing...
  5. an example could be a stock z alternator bracket, eh?
  6. SAWEET. Hope I can come across a deal like that when I am ready for wheels. Of course, a deal like that makes you ready for wheels.
  7. Just got my latest Saturday, have read just about all of it so far, and Love IT! Thought it was funny to see all the diferent z owners wanting to see more of their type of z coverage.
  8. Has anyone used JSK's wheels spacers for the Toyota caliper swap? Do you think you could get them set up with Honda and Datsun bolt patterns so you can run stock untill you make a wheel decision?
  9. is that what you paid for all 4 or each? either way good or screemin good deal.
  10. That is exactly why I am not sure that it would work here. Everyone here pretty much, just builds their own shop, but OK is definatly not CA. About 9 months ago we got our spread, 2000 sq ft, on 18,000 sq ft of land in the middle of town for $130K. It's nice, when we went to CA for our honeymoon, I could not belive how much houses go for. Anyway, good luck on your venture, would be alot of fun.
  11. Just bought my guages, fuelcell, fuel pump for my z and a set of manual locking hubs for my explorer and NO DISCOUNT! Was a bit of a bummer but oh well, just thought I would let you all know...
  12. I have often thought that this would make a great business. A set of basic tools would be good for each bay but nothing elaborate. If you had the cabinet set up you show in your links I imagine $500 or so in hand tools would do the trick for each personal bay. Even less if you can get a break from the supplier or get an endorsment from them. I like Tim's idea of checking specialized tools out, or possibly renting them out as a additional fee. In the common area have a lift that could be reverved by day. Things like a press and shear, possibly a mill and lathe and some aluminum and steel billitts. If there was a place like that, I would have to be in! I think I could even get my wife's support. I am very interested in how this turns out. Although land here on OK is alot cheaper and plentiful than NY, dunno if it would work out all that well here.
  13. I just finnished this 'mod' on my car, but I did the floor pans as well. I don't see any reason why you could not build the rails that are similar to pparaska's and fit them underneath the existing floors. I would like to add that since I ran my rails first and then tied the floors into them, the set up seems like it is very stiff. That said, I bought a 24ft long 11ga 2"x3" tube and had it cut up into 6' lenths and a 4' x8' sheet of 18ga and had it cut up. I was lucky in that my employer ordered it for me and cut it up for me, that was a huge help. Anyway, below is the link to a post with my results. Those rails are almost identical to pparaskas. If you havn't checked his site out, do so. I think I spent about 80 bucks on the material, and I have more than enough to do another set of rails if you are in the area. Sell you what I have left cheap, $30 for 2 6ft rails and a 2'x5' sheet if you want it. Took me about a 7-8 hours to build the frame rails and weld them up and another 7-8 hours per side to weld in the rails and the floors. I don't know if 3 full days is fast or slow but it seemed like a really long time to have that welding helmet on! I was learing to weld durring all of this too, but I had a great time and I think it turned out pretty good. http://www.hybridz.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=28937
  14. I got the rear end pulled today, will start cleaning and re-conditioning this week.
  15. Big Geek, I have found the guys on this board to be totally supportive towards everyone. Browse some of the posts an you will see what I mean. No one will dispute the claims made if they are reasonable and you don't come off as arogant, which by the way you did not. I love this forum, and hope you find it as helpful as I have. Enjoy
  16. I thought the fox body ford's have the same four bolt pattern, although i have read arguments that they are not the same. Just a thought
  17. Thanks AUX! Hopefully I will be getting started on this tomorrow. That is if I don't get carried away with my dash, my Phantom Series Guages are coming in today, they could be a distraction...
  18. There are several guys in the Oklahoma Z club that have smoothed rear pannels and I have not heard of problems with 50. I have been thinking of making up some AC cobra style bumpers for my Z, IF i can make them look good.
  19. Funny! Is that from a BBC "Man Show" or something similar?
  20. I am going to begin working on the rear suspension now that I have the front end complete. I am putting tokico blues and MSA lowered springs as well as urethane bushings and cleaning/painting everything. Oh and a new rear dif mount. Do you all have any suggestions or hints as far as pulling the complete assembly or doing one thing before others? Can't wait to "dig in" Thanks!
  21. Another common problem, similar to the air in the core, is that you don't have the cooling system full. If the fluid gets even a little bit low on my explorer, it seems that none of it ever reaches the heater core. Just a thought, should be easy to check.
